When tragedy strikes Reed Montgomery, revenge is the only way forward.
Former Force Recon Marine and covert operator, Reed Montgomery, has finally hung up the rifle. The White House has disowned him. His team has disbanded. He’s now embracing the quiet life while his wife pursues a lifelong dream of becoming a music star.
Life is good. But it’s far too quiet, and for an assassin like Reed, quiet never lasts.
The blasts detonate only yards from the stage, sending red hot shrapnel ripping through the crowd and across the band. As Reed watches in horror, the love of his life topples to the ground in a field of blood—and the carnage has barely begun.
Across America, TV screens are dominated by a smooth-talking man with an Arabic accent. He claims responsibility for the attacks, identifying himself as the head of a brand-new terrorist network who will hold America accountable for her sins.
With the promise of further attacks hanging over the nation, Reed prepares to abandon retirement and hunt his enemies, no matter the cost. But with the White House unwilling to reestablish the Prosecution Force, Reed is pushed to act alone.
He assembles his own team. Loads his own weapons. And will carry this fight to the ends of the earth.

Zack Axton dropped out of the living when the love of his life, Kayla, was viciously killed by a mentally deranged man. Not being sane enough to be tried, Charlie Moore is released back into the world. Kayla’s father, Bradley Reynolds, a well known politician, hires two people to use an experimental treatment to try to make Charlie sane enough for trial. When the treatment goes haywire, Charlie is transformed into a genius who can learn so rapidly that he soon has all the skills needed to take revenge on the people who belittled him. Charlie’s warped mind, however, has decided that everyone should be punished for being inferior. There is one person smart enough and talented enough to stop him, but can Zack be persuaded to come back to the living and join the hunt?
A word of caution. This book contains graphic descriptions of violence and death. It is not for the squeamish. If you can tolerate or maybe even enjoy the carnage it is a well written story that delves into the world of deranged minds and the carnage possible with a genius at the helm.
Thank you NetGalley, Mark Hacker, and Willis St. Bloom Books for an advanced copy. This is my honest review.
Reed’s just gotta be Reed. It does make any difference if the Force has been officially disbanded or not. When America is under attack, he has to take control—and once again he does. The faces of the opposition may change, but Reed’s determination and skills are once again put on display in this high octane, fast-paced action thriller. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and voluntarily provided an honest review.
Review: This was a well written thriller that had some good movement. It was just predictable and somewhat boring. The characters were patterned after most movies where time is running out as terrorists implement their evil plans. Throw in a president an Ice cold CIA Deputy Director and an international caste of spies and Bingo! a movie is born.
A well executed installment in this thriller/action series. Good characters and plot and quality writing. I will definitely move on to the next in the series.
Prosecution Force Series: Source: Ryles' ARC team. Firestorm, #5 - Totally mesmerizing. I could not put down this action-filled, fast-paced, intriguing story with its great, and no so good, characters and interesting story lines. Enjoyed Wolfgang's prosthesis. 15*
Failed State, #4 - My first of this series and I did not miss the first three books. Standalone, interesting with Wolfgang as a member of another "group". 4*
Mason Sharpe Series: Source: Ryles' ARC team. Point Blank - I almost stopped reading when man was faster than a bullet out of a gun jammed under his throat. There are a couple more "get real, dude"! Otherwise, I discovered this is an interesting bit of entertainment. Good characters, typical good ol' redneck bubbas, and good story lines. The S&W's fate bothered me, it's not a Glock. 4*
Take Down, #2 - Immersing and interesting and actually better than Point Blank, which I also liked. Street punk turned Army vet turned police officer suffering the loss of his fiancee, roams the highways in his ole GMC truck. Helping a kid in Atlanta has Sharpe in a whole new can of woes. Good story lines mixed with characters that you either like or hate made for hard to put down entertainment. 5*
End Game, #3 - This is the third book by Ryles that I have to finish once I start reading. EG is interesting, intriguing and immersing with well written story lines and interesting, good supporting characters. There is violence but not in graphic detail and no profanity. This story takes place about eight months after losing Mia. The continuing original story lines is well blended with the new. Read this in order, although it is not necessary, and Ryles is good about not rehashing the previous books. The ending came too soon but the ride was great. Source: Booksprout and the author. 5*
Fire Team, #4 - Make sure your ducks are in a row and quacking because this is finish in one sitting read. This my favorite genre and this series is one of my favorites. Mr. Ryles always delivers a well written, well thought out and entertaining story. Believable and realistic story lines, characters and action scenes. AI is the feature theme of this story but the elements of hope, suffering, love, grief, patriotism and doing the right thing are always present in each story. The rental choice is hilarious, which opened all sorts of imagined scenarios. 5*
Flash Point, #5 - Definitely a fast-paced, entertaining read. Lots of happenings going on and lots of people after Mason; like they say, no good deed .... A variety of characters, interesting story lines, some humor, and that poor truck. No matter what happens to Mason, even after what happens with Mia's Bible, he keeps true to himself. 5*
Storm Surge, #6 - NOLA. A Cat. 5 Hurricane. Rednecks. A kidnapped, handicapped child. And that's not all that happens in this intense story. Interesting characters and intriguing story lines make this an easy to read, hard to put down, fast paced, action filled read. 15* Mason Sharpe Series end.
I received an ARC through "Severn Publishing" and I am voluntarily leaving an gonest review.
In this story Turk and Reed have opened a gym as part of their retirement while Lucy is in rehab and Wolfgang is in Bulgaria. Wolfgang is trying to locate and capture an arms dealer. You ask how is this connected, well it seems that a terrorist group has purchased items from this gentleman and the plan on attacking the U.S. Unfortunately, there an attack happens at a music festival in Nashville where Banks is on stage. As a result of the attack, many people are killed and Banks is badly injured with a 50//50 chance of surviving.
Reed is angry and with another threat made by the terror group, he contacts Lucy to stay at the hospital while he and Turk begin their hunt. Reed also winds up Corbyn an SIS agent to help once more with acting as the pilot for their trip. Wolfgang by now has finally caught up with the arms dealer and discovered a trove of information. Wolfgang in going the the dealer's email found another item that was also sold to the terrorist group and this would cause a lot more damage than the attack in Nashville.
Reed, Turk and Corbyn went to Haiti where an earthquake happened causing a great deal of damaging and as a result a gret deal of aid was flowing into the country. Reed had learned from Wolfgang that the bomb material had been delivered to Haiti and Reed believe that he would find the leader of the terrorist group there because the last item they purchased was also being delivered there. The trio was too late, so they made plans to fly to Savanna to intercept the cargo. Things did not go well as they attempted to take off. As a result they crashed in D.R.
To discover what the item and where the attack was to take place, what happened to the trio after the ceash and how Banks made out, then you need to read this book.
Yhe ending will sum it all up. It is well worth your time and is another great story by this author.
Can Reed and Turk overcome all the challenges and lack of support to take care of business? Reed Montgomery and Turk are back in one action-packed thriller. After reading Failed State I wasn’t sure we would see another offering in the Prosecution Force series. Well, I for one was thrilled to find out Firestorm existed, and absolutely enthralled to read an advance copy of it. Following Reed, Turk and the rest of the Prosecution Force on an adventure that spanned multiple continents, with multiple bad guys who may or may not have ties with each other. Once again you were presented with an inside view of the Trousdale admin with all its dysfunction on full display. If you have read the previous Prosecution Force books, this is a must read. A part of me wants to believe Logan Ryles has inserted a couple of Easter eggs in this story, and only future books will reveal if my suspicions are correct, or if he is a master manipulator. I received an Advance Reader copy of Firestorm from the publisher and chose to provide my review.
I OWE THAT HAIRY DUDE $8 MILLION! If you are already a Reed Montgomery fan, then this review is short. You are going to love it! Reed is enjoying his retirement. Nobody in DC will talk to him anyway. Then the quiet turns into a nightmare as bombs rip Banks to shreds while killing others. Meanwhile Wolfgang is looking for the buying agent for those bombs. They started in Haiti, so that is where Reed and Turk are going. He knows just where to "borrow" a plane, but his government is no help so he calls SAS agent Corbyn. SAS director is not happy. Not so angry that he is unwilling to relay the information Wolf has provided. Welcome back Reed!
Reed and his team of friends find themselves in a situation where they have to find the terrorists who have been able to get through the security services of the USA and managed to explode an IED during a musical festival which has seriously injured Reeds wife. Whilst Reed and the team are trying to find and kill the terrorists the government agencies that should have been helping decided not to give any assistance to them, so Reed is left with only one option, go rogue and ultimately hunt the terrorists with only his friends and hope that they can stop the destruction of thousands of fellow Americans.
Firestorm: A Prosecution Force Thriller (The Prosecution Force Thrillers Book 5), my first read from author Logan Ryles. If you like Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, or Tom Clancy or David Bruns & J.R. Olson you'll like this espionage thriller. Well-written with well-developed, memorable characters. I received a Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author & in this series as I get them. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
HAve enjoyed the previous books in the series, however this one I struggled with All the ingredients were there for a good book, action, suspense, political intrigue, yet it didn't seem to come together as per the previous books By the end of the book I was skim reading, trying to get the main points of interest, without having to spend too much time doing so. A sad way to read a book Strangely, the last couple of chapters improved and have left me hopeful for the next
Intense to the max! Just when we thought Reed and company were retired, a domestic terror strike too close to home brings all of the gang back in action. It's a race in time to prevent even more mayhem.
Gut wrenching, scary, and realistic (example - what's going on in Haiti right now), it's obvious that the gang won't be going back into retirement any time soon with loose ends needing to be tied up. Looking forward to the next riveting adventure in the series!
Great read and very distressing when the description of how a disaster can cause so much death after the event . Reed and Turk hunt down, the people who set of a bomb at a concert where Reeds wife was injured while performing on stage . They are on there own as the government want nothing to do with them ,with the help of a good friend Wolfgang they track them down, when they discover they are planning to contaminate the water supply in several communities but the main man escapes .
Logan makes it clear just how committed US special forces soldiers are to being the best trained, strongest and fearless soldiers one could hope to be on your side. To the last breath and drop of blood quitting is never an option. Non stop action and very creative plots anticipating all the ways our enemies could strike us while also exposing their reasons for wanting to.
A thriller that has Reed not coping well with retirement from Prosecution Force attending a concert to watch his wife sing who gets seriously injured by a terrorist bomb while on stage. The attack plunges Reed back into action to find and kill the terrorists but as a rogue agent without government support. A trail while accompanied by a comrade and assisted by others uncovers a further terrorist plot to kill thousands of Americans.
Prosecution force back on track after a disappointing 4th book. Reeds wife Banks is performing a stadium concert when a bomb goes off. Reed gets her to hospital and while she fights for life he goes off to hunt down the terrorists who carried out the attack. Turk and Wolfgang get to work to put a,stop to further terror attacks on US soil. Fast paced, strong characters, injuries and tough decisions. Great escapist fiction from a super hero like tough guy. Looking forward to no.7.
This was such a great entry into the political thriller genre. The tension builds with each successive chapter, with action packed sequences blended in with political maneuvering and character building. This is the first of the Prosecution Force series that I’ve read, but this book definitely made me want to go back and start the series from Book 1!
I received an advanced copy of this book for my honest review. This book is a continuation of a great series. The reader would get more out of this series by reading them in order. The story moves along fast and only slows occasionally. It keeps the reader wanting more and the author leaves the reader looking forward to the next book.
Ryles has a way of getting his characters into the minds of his readers. This again was an action packed plot as the prosecution force is resurrected to find out who caused the bombing and serious injury to his wife, Banks , who was making her singing comeback.
Saying "Ripped from the Headlines" is very true about this fast moving adventure about fighting an enemy too clever by leaps over our government's ability to protect our homeland. Only with heroic operators going outside the lines is the danger stopped.
Great story again with all the known and loved characters. As Reed faces a personal tragedy he must go after the terrorists without any backing form the White House. But with the help from his friends and despite the non-cooperation of the CIA they succeed and unravel a terroristic plot which would have an enormous death-toll.
I live Reed and Turk and Wolf. All aloha males who have a code of justice and nothing or no one gets in the way. After a terrorist attack affects Reeds family he’s out for revenge and justice. From America to Haiti back to America nothing will stop him and Turk from seeking justice.
Well Logan Ryles did it again. He delivered an action packed adventure. This time the Prosecution Force is disbanded and its members retired, but when a terrorist attack threatens everything Reed worked for.
He and his team go rogue to stop a terrorist mastermind before it's too late. 10/10
Intense and suspense with the Prosecution team once again makes this a great read. You can read it without the benefit of the prior books in the series but after you’ll want to read them as well.
The last Prosecution Force book took me forever to read, but this one kept me guessing. I actually bought the kindle version and downloaded the audible so I could consume the story as quickly as possible. There are several reckonings within this book and the various subplots that have building through the series. I really enjoyed the character development in this story and can’t wait for the next book!
A slightly different twist in the series with a personal agenda of Reid Montgomery after he retired. This part of the story, though sounds logically finished will continue in the next book which is yet to be available.
Awaiting for the release to continue the last two part.
Logan Ryles has knocked it out of the park! Excitement, Intrigue, murder, terrorism all in one book. Reed, Turk and their friends must fight to save the US again!
Monster in the closet? This book and the whole series is the BEST thriller ever! Mitch Rapp better watch out! The characters are amazing! Most of all…no foul language. And GOD and prayer is an added bonus! 😇 Please continue to write books Mr Logan Ryles…Awesome and highly entertaining!
The writing in general is good, the characters are excellent, and the plot is good, but the first half of the book is almost all descriptions and no action.
A well written and researched book, brings home the effect terrorism can have. Also, makes you take a closer look at those in power and question 'what's in it for them' as the attacks happen.
