Blood Origins

Rate this book
Learn how it all began long before the curse that sealed their fates was enacted.

A dangerous vampire Prince meets a powerful fae Queen and it ends in tragedy.

Darius Dragomier didn’t know what to expect when he went against his father’s wishes to go to the Masquerade of the Vernal Equinox to meet the fae Queen that had disrespected his kingdom.

Sabrina Saison didn’t know what to expect when the vampire Prince showed up to her Masquerade drunk and she plunged a dagger in his chest.

It certainly wasn’t them falling in love.

Neither of their kingdoms are fond of the entanglement they have found themselves in, and in the shadows a betrayal is planned.

On the morning of their wedding the vampire Prince wakes with a hunger for his bride that he can not ignore.

This was the first step to a curse that kept Darius and Sabrina locked in a dangerous game of cat and mouse for centuries.

Blood Origins is book 3 in the completed Blood Singer Trilogy by Willow Asteria! If you enjoy adult dark fantasy romance with vampires, fae, enemies to lovers, fated mates, found family, and so much more this may be for you!

Although this is the third book in this series, it is the beginnings…. And it was so great. I loved hearing how the curse began!!

As always my favorite part was my morally grey man!!!! But I also loved hearing more about some of the side characters. It had the perfect amount of spice!!!!!

Sabrina is someone who is GOOD and makes the people around her even better. I love FMCs like this

I did the audiobook and the performance was as always amazing. I can’t wait to listen to more from her. I also can’t wait to read more from Willow.

This is the third book in this series even though it’s a prequel. I am even more in love after finishing this book. I am a sucker for a Morally Grey and MMC who is bad and only good for her. This book did not disappoint! I’m even my love with Darius, which I’m surprised is possible. This book had the perfect amount of everything including spice. I also loved learning more about Daphne and Xander. This was a wonder story that shows just how good she is and how she makes everyone around her better. Fantastic series!

This was just up my street. I love a good fantasy. This was like a prequel in the series about how it all started. I loved the fast pace. It had nice short chapters and duel povs - this was a nice change from all the plot heavy novels I’ve been reading. It was light and not so intense (until the end) which was definitely a nice change from the last book I read which was very dark and I needed a light cozy read.

I loved the characters - Sabrina was amazing, powerful and a loveable character. Darius (I loved how his initials were DEAD 😂) morally grey - my favourite colour - but would do anything for her!

I received this ARC for an honest review, all thoughts/opinions above are my own!

This book was truly amazing. It had just the right amount of everything from the spice to action. I am so glad I got to read this book early. Truly one of my favorite reads of 2023.

Before i get into this book, let’s talk about the first 2 books, i love that it was fast paced and quick to the point not many fantasy genre books are like that.. im not gonna lie i did get lost a few times throughout the books and i felt like i really needed more info on the beginning of the relationship to understand more. Since i didnt have a back story, the MMC came across as really freaking annoying.. hes unhinged and driven mad from blood lust but damn did he just get on my nerves most of the times. It had me questioning the relationship between sabrina and darius, like how on earth is she still with him?

What to expect:
Vampires & Fae
Queen & Prince
Dom and sub
Obsessed MMC (most of the time unhinged)
Cursed FMC
Spicy

Now going back to book 3:

The final and literally the missing piece for me!!!! This book literally takes place before the curse leading up to how it happened and i really needed this book wayyyy before book 1 & 2!! Everything falls into place and I am utterly devastated that the author made me hate Darius🤣 i fell in love with him and sabrina as well. In the first 2 books Sabrina to me was kind of useless as expected since she really didnt understand what was going on with her at that time. Reading about the fae queen in book 3 though?!!!! Like i just wanted to read more about that fierce fae queen that everyone admires and loves!!

Saying all of this now, i think the author knew exactly what she was doing in giving us the prequel as the last book because now i just cant stop thinking about the emotional roller coaster i went through reading the trilogy the way it was publicized.

This book is a 5 ⭐️ as for the trilogy, i would rate it a 4 ⭐️

I enjoyed this book. It answers a lot of questions I had from the previous books. I enjoyed getting to know the beginning of the love story.

This fantasy romance is book 3 in the series.
This book goes back to the beginning of the MCs love story, explaining the events that took place prior to book 1.
The ending of this book leaves questions, and possibilities.
The story lets us get to know some of our favorite characters from books 1, and 2 better. Including what drove their actions.
The spicy scenes are frequently deposited throughout the book.
While this book is less intense than the previous two books, it still is able to captivate you.

This is the book I needed to answer some questions I had after reading the first two books of the series.

This book takes place before the first book. It takes us through the journey of Sabrina and Darius meeting for the very first time and how their relationship blossomed. Then we find out how and when the curse happens.

Great addition to the Series.

Normally I do not like prequels after the initial story has been released. They always seem to be a waste of time. However, this one was great. It continue the story by going back; you got to expand on the story you had already read! A truly enjoyable read!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Perfect conclusion to the Blood Singer trilogy! Blood Origins is the third book in the trilogy, and it’s a prequel. You are able to gain so much more insight into Darius and Sabrina’s relationship, as well as how everything began. The ending transitions perfectly into Blood Singer!

Loved the first two, not a fan of prequel novellas when you already know the content of the future Book and storyline. But it's nice to view the story of what lead to book one. Just wish it was book one instead... except I actually loved book one it was a 5 star read..

I liked how we got the backstory of the events prior to book 1, however I feel like we should’ve had this book as a prequel rather than book 3, no? I think I would’ve (possibly) liked Darius more in book 1 if I had read this first!

This is a prequel story to the trilogy, i loved the book getting to revisit the characters at an earlier time and finding out the original story, and what caused them to be the way they were.

This is an awesome prequel to one of my favorite book series and it tied everything together so nicely, filled in all the missing pieces, showed why/how she fell in love with the "monster" from her nightmares, and had a beautiful ending to the whole trilogy.

I’m not normally a person who loves fantasy but the love between Sabrina and Darius has me drawn and captivated through the whole book. The story line was different than I ever read before and the author did a wonderful job. The spice was perfectly placed in the book. I can’t wait to read more of her work.

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶

Somehow, I missed the part where this was book 3 in a series. In my mind, I believed it was a prequel. Anywho...
The story is interesting, but I felt that the pacing was weird and that I was missing vital information, and the ending made no sense to me (yeah, no shit Sherlock🤦🏼‍♀️).
I liked the characters and the plot. The spice was between light and medium. I am intrigued to learn what happened in the centuries I missed in the first two books, so I will probably give them a go.

*Note to self, double check the info before starting a book.

This book was the PERFECT ending to this trilogy! While it is technically the prequel to this trilogy, I HIGHLY recommend reading it last because it will spoil some things that happen in books 1 & 2. I gave this book a 4 ⭐ and 3🌶. I also gave the entire trilogy a 4⭐ and 3🌶. It is a dark fantasy trilogy. Tropes for this book are he falls first, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, political intrigue, vampires and fae. Books 1 & 2 are out now on KU!
