Author Mike Sonnenberg has traveled through all parts of the Upper Peninsula for his website www.LostInMichigan.net. From ruins on remote back roads, to historic places in large cities, this book has stories of unique and interesting destinations. Some locations are unconventional such as old cemeteries, the crumbling remains of an old mine, or the forgotten buildings of an old ghost town.

This is a quick read and would be very good for people unfamiliar with Michigan's U.P. There are some valuable tips for knowing what to pack and how to prepare for some of the more out-of-the-way destinations. It's not a complete listing, of course, but it does hit the highlights and they are organized by region, which would be helpful for people planning a vacation.
I was born in Hancock, Michigan and grew up in Houghon and then Ontonago. I moved to Wisconsin in my teens. I visited most of the places mentioned in this book.
I enjoyed reading this book as it revealed a lot of history I never knew about our beloved U.P. I would highly recommend it to Yoopers and Trolls alike.
