Wow! What an amazing cover!!
Uht'Lan was a snarling vicious Shaman Warchief troll of the Ragainush tribe. This alpha warrior literally moves space and time to get to Celestra, who he believed the spirits fated to be his Chieftess.
I just loved him. He was brutish and raw. Taking what was his no matter what others thought. Uht'Lan was so supportive and protective of Celestra. He was her safe place and peace in the storm.
I liked this. It was bloody and violent, yet had a sweet love story too. Celestra was the first character I've read that was neurodivergent. Uht'Lan helped her navigate their world and calm the voices in her head. I would love to see some of the other characters get their own stories. I still don't know the differences between the Orcs and Trolls LOL.
Warning: This is very violent. I was kinda upset by the fact this had a warning about non-con which maybe I'm wrong I saw more as a dynamic between the Hs and hs, for all sorts of different reasons. In this book there is a scene of violent sodomy and rape which is perpetrated by the h's uncle on her. I feel like the warning should have blatantly said rape. I know all rape is non-con but they can also have some differences, though subtle. So be warned....this is dark, there is a lot of bloody violence, and there is rape.

Hmmmmmmm.
The romance was pretty good.
But the plot has a bunch of holes that I'm pretty confused over.
We never found out why her uncle kidnapped her in the first place. she literally gets raped (on page plz check TW). But it's never mentioned what he wanted her for??just that she's his?okkk.... It also sounds like there's a story with her mom?? Heck, even her dad??
We get nothing...
I wish we got an explanation about the guy in the basement that turned rapey uncle into a necromancer...
Who was he?? why the hell did he turn rapey uncle?? why was he in the basement?
Literally nothing..
Then...after seeing basement dude turn her rapey uncle into a necromancer, Why the frickle frackle fuck would she spare the guy!??! ..it 100% was her fault Zinda died. I don't care if she looked badass cutting dude up afterwards... WHY would you spare him...like really!?
The random look alike in her place at the kingdom...who was that?
Oh...and....um...does she have powers now?
The ending was nice.
The rape scene was really horrible. 65ish%.

Unique monster romance
I always enjoy the creativity from this author and this addition to her works is no different. Yes, it is a troll-human standalone romance. Monsters are the new big thing recently and for those that want one a little outside of the box, dive in.
This is a monster romance but it makes you wonder who are the real “monsters” are. It’s a fated mates romance between a princess of the human world and the war chief of a clan of trolls. Obviously, this isn’t received very well by some, leading to rash decisions and drama but an eventual happily ever after.
Not only is the story distinct from others, the heroine is also unique. Please read the Author’s Note for her acknowledgments and explanation of this character because I absolutely loved her thoughts and inner dialogue.
For those looking for a different fantasy romance, this one’s for you.

There are some books that remind you of what love is. Love that transcends through time and space. This is that book. Uht'lan and Celestra are star crossed lovers that were never meant to be. Uth'lan is a troll and Celestra is a human princess who is different in her own world. There love existed in their dreams. Uth'lan does everything in his power to make their dream a reality. Celestra struggles in a world that shuns her for being her true self. Uht'lan love for her is powerful and captivating. YD La Mar has down the impossible and made true beauty shine from within. She has made something beautiful and unconventional feel real. Please read this book!!!!!! She has a way of making understand beauty is not about looks but about soul uniting beyond worlds.

I'm a big fan of this author's books, she's so different with her ideas you never know where the book will take you. The heroine has a disability, as someone who knows someone with Autism you understand what she was going through. The Hero is PNR mine brute perfection, really excited for what else this author will bring.

Beautiful
These authors alone weave wonderful stories, but together they created a story of overcoming differences and building a strong foundation in love.
Celestra is a princess that sees and feels the world differently (possibly autistic?) and it has caused her to be an outcast and a disgrace. Feeling like every day she must pretend to feel something differently than she does or be something other than she is, Celestra goes about her life in her gilded cage a no one to nobody. That all changes when a mysterious someone enters her dreams nightly and she finally starts to feel something other than despair. She can feel the devotion and love from her mysterious stranger and hates to wake knowing it will all end.
Uht'lan is the troll shaman and war chief for his tribe. When the ancestors sent him into Celestra's dream while dream-walking, he knew they were meant to be; she was his. He would move mountains and worlds to get to her.
When their worlds collide, they are faced not only with the prejudices of their peoples, but with unknown threats. Can their love for one another survive enemies on so many fronts? Will each of them be able to overcome a past that has haunted and broken them in order to move forward?
Look past the outer appearance and see what is on the inside. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Celestial Hearts
YD La Mar’s most recent literature work of art is magnificent. It makes you see things through the eyes of someone that thinks differently than the average person. Celestra and Uht’lan, the main characters have a very unique connection. Celestra is a princess that is neurodivergent, but most people think she’s weird and pities her. She doesn’t talk much, doesn’t like a lot of people around or touching her. Uht’lan is a Chieftain and Shaman Troll of his tribe. He has been commanding with Celestra through dreams, only they can’t understand each other’s language. He knows she’s upset about something but can’t understand what’s wrong and he’s screaming out his frustrations. This storyline was certainly unique and fascinating. The book was an excitingly adventurous romance that was so riveting that I couldn’t put it down until the very last page. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!

Who knew trolls could be this hot?!?! 🔥
This is not my typical read but this book was the perfect example of why I love to step outside my comfort zone. Loved the story and loved the characters even more!
I absolutely loved that this author wrote a neurodivergent heroine. I loved seeing life through her eyes and it really added such an amazing layer to her character. But as a princess, Celest is forced to go through life hiding this secret and unfortunately a much darker one.
Lan is a Shaman Warchief whose magic is telling him that Celest is HIS...and let me tell you, he knows how to claim his woman! 🥵 He's a bada$$ warrior who will let no one stand between him and his woman.
Of course, their journey isn't an easy one but definitely one you'll want to read! Lots of twists and turns with some surprises I didn't see coming...and of course lots of hot s€x 🔥🥵🔥

2.5 stars and here's why..
The book had lots of potential but it failed primarily due to its lack of depth.
...and this manifests in how uhtlan looks, I didnt get a clear picture in my head of how he looked as a troll other than his horns so for me he had a human face but was simply bigger with horns.
Celeste again I know she was neuro divergent, though whether she really is given the sexual abuse she suffered from family members, her behaviour n aversion to touch is more to do with her abuse as far as I'm concerned. Again I didnt have a clear picture in my head how she looked.
The lack of depth in the characterisation was the biggest issue I had with this book.
Yes the plot is simplistic and obvious. But it was still entertains.
Sex scenes where hot and the passion was clearly there.
I'm not sure id read anymore from this author. Her writing style still needs some maturing and sophistication.

A fated mates story. The main character, Celest, is a neurodivergent princess. It was unique experiencing the story through her perspective. Lan is chieftain of his troll tribe and a shaman. He uses his powers/gifts to connect with Celest through her dreams and eventually tracks her down so they can be together. I liked how devoted Lan was to Celest and how he would move heaven and earth to be with her. The trolls were definitely a brutal and powerful warrior race. The story was engaging and there was definitely heat between the lovers. The plot line felt a little rushed and disorganized in some areas and I wish was fleshed out a bit more in parts particular in the last half of the book. Overall though an entertaining book and full of yummy monster romance.

Oh my god. So... this writer is freaking awesome. She makes trolls hot. I'm not even kidding. This is a beautiful love story, between a young woman who needs a loving, supportive man, who can understand her difficulties, and love her for them, and the troll who really surprised me. He's a warchief, and deadly, violent, and brutal. Except with her. Honestly, this whole book was just a world that I was able to sink into for like a day and a half, and just live in. There were laugh out loud moments, and moments so sweet, or so sexy, that I probably blushed.
Yes please to trolls. Definitely one for the re-read folder!!

3.5 stars. Okay, this was fairly good. I was into the overall deal, but the writing needed to be a little better. Dialogue was written in a way that was often confusing to know who was saying what. Also, there felt like a lot of unnecessary sexual assault stuff that doesn’t make sense. I don’t know. Sexual assault storylines are hard, but I just don’t feel like this hit the right balance. Especially the random last minute revelation of her (spoiler) father being gross. It just felt sensationalist and… please no. But these two leads where sweet together, and I loved seeing the FMC coming out of her shell.

I'm obsessed with adventure, royalty, unique supernaturals, steeeeeam and the FMC coming out of her shell....this book had it ALL! Uht'lan, the male main character, is one sexy Troll....the way his appearance is described makes me 🤤🤤 Celestra, the female main character, grew up enduring awful abuse and felt like an outcast, but overcame so many obstacles. Their relationship was perfect!
I could totally read a whole series with this amazing world that the author created. 😍

Great New World
This is such a different and creative book.
My first book by the author and I was sucked in from the first chapter. The h is neurodivergent and the Princess chooses the monster. I really enjoyed reading Lan and Celestra's story and look forward to more from the side characters. Parts if it was painful, but it was also full of hope, love, spice, acceptance, and humor. The imagery and descriptions were so vivid... I wanted to stay in their world and explore some more.

Y.D. La Mar Is a new to me author and I am totally obsessed. My heart absolutely broke for Celestra and I’m in total awe of how strong she is.
I love the connection between Celestra and Uht'lan. Their relationship is intense, hot AF, intriguing and absolutely beautiful. I loved watching Celestra grow into this incredibly fierce character and I love the way that Uht’lan always had her back.
I would love to see some of the other characters have their own stories.

interesting characters
I loved the characters. The story was solid enough but I felt it was confused in some places which left me a little puzzled trying to work out exactly what was happening. I think the fmc was better explained at the beginning with her neurodiverse mind and that slipped toward the end where it became more generic. I loved the relationship between the leading m &f though. I enjoyed this story overall.

This books was amazing and hot as H-E-Double Hockey Sticks! Forget what you know about trolls and get ready to fall into lust with a true sexy beast with a heart of gold. Uht’lan is a war lord who dreamwalks into his fated love’s dreams. Celeste is a neurodivergent princess who finds the one person ‘er troll who helps her find her way to peace is only a dream away.

4.5 stars So this is my first read by this author and it was so good. Really written well such detail on the characters that I could picture them. The way the story developed drawing you was great. Oh my goodness, this book is amazing. The characters are easy to fall in love with, except for a couple. The description of the characters is absolutely amazing. I am placing this author on my top 5 list. So looking forward to reading more about these characters.

A hot shaman troll combines dreams with a human princess and things get better from there in this Amazing book. Hot romance between these two is so beautifully done by this author. I highly recommend this Monster Romance book.

Even if I didn’t read this genre, I would have bought it for the cover alone. So HOT! — this love story is written in a beautiful, lyrical fairytale way that makes it easy to read, even when reading the harder, bloodier stuff. Read warnings before purchase!

amazing!
What an amazing book! From the details of world building, to the details of their relationship. I loved everything about this story. I felt like I was there, along side celest in everything. YD La Mar is an outstanding author and creator of new worlds!

I loved reading this book! It drew me in and I just couldn’t put it down! This is an epic love story about a princess who is forced to survive as an obedient pawn in the games of men but then finds herself and the love she craves in the most unlikely of places!

I liked the characters, the heroine was portrayed in a rather interesting way, and I liked the MMC and all the trolls in general. I would like to read more about them, and the orcs. There are some very dark moments, so this book is not for everyone.
