Margrit Schreier show how create a coding frame; segment the material; try out the coding frame; evaluate the trial coding and then carry out the main coding; and consider what comes next. She also discusses software choices for doing qualitative content analysis. Each part of the process is described in detail and research examples are provided to illustrate each step. Frequently asked questions are answered, the most important points are summarized, and end of chapter questions provide an opportunity to check for understanding.

A good overview of QCA. even though Schreier provides helpful examples throughout the chapters, I think the book would be better with an appendix of detailed examples, with a completed coding frame. For visual learners like me, just reading how to do something can be confusing without actually seeing it done.

I wish I had read this a year ago. It is super helpful if you want to do content analysis. It's actually specific and detailed and robust/replicable
