This book doesn't have a lot to say about what I understand to be the technical aspects of drawing. Mostly talks about landmarks and anatomy of the form using annotated example drawings throughout; an approach I found to be not very well organised. I probably got the most out of the first and last chapters, on proportion and gesture, respectively. Includes some nice gestural drawing towards the end. Maybe good for intermediate artists looking to learn a bit about how simple anatomy can inform their drawings.

While the book does show a number of beautifully drawn figures with a theme to each chapter dedicated to particular poses, the instruction is unfortunately lacking. The construction of the figure is skipped in the great majority of the studies and it seems to focus on anatomy rather than simple shapes. This book is too difficult for the beginner and not of much use for an intermediate artist. I would say it is a good source of inspiration though

I studied fashion design many years ago and did a lot of fashion illustration, however the figures were stylized and there wasn't much focus on the anatomy of the human body and how to draw the natural shapes. This book had written sections plus tips beside figure drawings throughout. I found it really informative and I cannot wait to apply this to my fashion illustrations.
