3.5/5, For what it is. Hey, a murder mystery! This wasn't too bad. Somewhat interesting, but still seems to be lacking something. What, I don't know. This was definitely a step up from book 1 and 2. Things are actually happening, huh. Weird how Sasha featured bigger but then kind of disappeared largely. I figured she was being set up to be a main side character. I didn't much care for her in any case.

My main disappointment with these books is, in my opinion, the lacklustre scenes that are meant to shock the reader, but that are written a bit bland, or less emotionally than they could have been. Things which should have been shocking or disturbing weren't really written with as much suspense as they could have been. I would have described the scene of the "crime", to shock my reader, but it isn't really described. Basically the cop opens a door, and we are told what's in there. That's it. The author completely defies the whole "show it, don't tell it" rule for writing. While rules are meant to be broken, I think this is one case in which the author should have shown us what the cop saw, rather than merely said that he saw it. It completely deflated the scene and disappointed me. At every opportunity, we are given scenes which could easily be magnified with more suspense but the author seems insistent on keeping things extremely G rated.

Re-read in 2020: Okay, so my opinion changed a lot after 10 years. This book series is actually a pretty wholesome book. Ofc it's not accurate, it's not meant to be. It's meant to be a fiction work. But even for a fiction work, it does get lots of point rights. And it's so cute to see teens just learning about Wicca and learning about the Craft and starting to walk the path.

I think it's a really nice chill series, especially for teenagers. And honestly, I loved re-reading it! :)

Love this book the third book of this series. The circle of three in the last two book we learn about kate and how three girls became friend and become interested in the practices of witchcraft or in other word wicca. In short this follows Cooper a punk out girl that always paints her hair any colors, loves music and plays the guitar. While still taking classes for witchcraft or learning the craft Cooper starts having unusual dreams. With this we follow her and her friends on finding out what those dreams are and why she is having them. This book contains a mystery that the main characters need to solve and they use their practice on the craft to known what to do. We learn new thing about the character and their feelings and thoughts about them practicing witchcraft. Its a good story easy to visualise what's going on.

A Mystery for Cooper

In this third instalment of “Circle of Three” Annie, Kate and Cooper continue their path to learn more about witchcraft. This book centres on Cooper who begins to have strange dreams and hallucinations. As she tries to figure out what they mean and what she can do about them, Cooper realizes that the connections she is making to herself, her friends, and her craft may help to solve the mystery that is gripping the town.

Better than the first two books, because of the intermingling of the muder mystery plot. Guess I have to keep on reading.

Were it not for the author using up her quota of the word "that" I would have given this novel five stars.

Revisiting this series after decades. This particular book is strangely emotionless. And a bit implausible (not the visions, the behaviour of the reporter).

This is the third book in the Circle of Three series and is an extremely good story. This is a book centered around Cooper and her growing abilities in Wicca. She seems to be developing a talent for scrying; that is, seeing things either by looking into water or fire. She also finds that she is sensitive in her dreamtime, for a girl who has disappeared contacts Cooper during her dreaming, setting into motion a complicated effort on Cooper's part to find out what is going on.

Cooper has to face her own uncertainty about her abilities, an extremely noisy and bothersome reporter, her mother's disapproval of Wicca, and the isolation of knowing that she can no longer share everything about her life with others. She also has to deal with unwanted publicity and the resultant vicious hatred of some others towards her for using her "powers."

This is really an excellent story, one that you tend to want to read clear through to the end. I like the way Cooper's personal growth is covered and also the realistic approach to how some others react to those who follow the path of Wicca. Definitely worth reading.

Another interesting little romp. Murder mystery solved by Cooper who sees visions. There's a lot of telling rather than showing in these books. It was a fun light read, informational about witchcraft and Wicca, but I'm really losing interest. There just doesn't seem to be much depth or difference between these characters. They deal with different problems and situations, but they essentially are the same character x3.

This book was a really cool entry in a long series to me, when I was a tween. Now, after I reread the series, it's--eh, the star rating still stands. I posted a long, spoiler-y, series-wide review on my Dreamwidth: https://c0nstantchange.dreamwidth.org...

It alludes to some events that happened in this book, but briefly. It's not chronological and discusses themes that worked, as well some that did not.

The cycle of the try to solve the mystery of a girl that keeps haunting their dreams and calling for help.

I remember enjoying these characters and stories but there was a always something lacking in depth and character development. I think I might compare them to the early episodes of Charmed where the girls hadnt really made a place in my heart yet.

This was the best one so far, probably because it was a bit more supernatural. ;) At first, it was weird to switch to a different protagonist, but I recovered quickly. It definitely made me more excited to continue reading the series!

This book is told from Cooper's perspective, which is a nice change. It's nice to get to know more of her background. Second Sight reads like a murder mystery.

YA fiction meets the Ed and Loraine Warren. If this book lays down the formula for how "paranormal" things will be handled, I can dig it.

I never much like books about psychics experiencing the trauma of a murder victim, but the overwhelming earnestness of these books makes up for it.
