Moffie and Morgie want to play hide-and-seek with their friends at recess. But no one can agree on the rules! Will they ever get to play? Find out in this silly Level 2 reader.
Tomie dePaola and his work have been recognized with the Caldecott Honor Award, the Newbery Honor Award, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award, and the New Hampshire Governor's Arts Award of Living Treasure.
Another dePaola that we really enjoyed. A pretty solid level 1 book with some new words and easy to follow story line. The theme of hide-and-seek is always a favorite with us in our house. A great learning tool all kids will enjoy.
The kids are at school. At recess, they decide to play hide and seek. But every day at recess, they debate an aspect of the game and never actually ever play it. Still with good pictures.
The storyline for this book was pretty entertaining, but a little predictable. I kind of felt sorry because the kids could never decide on anything and always used up all their recess time. Still, Tomie worked in a simple message that even kids could understand. I might recommend.
Ha, this is cute. While simple, it tells the story of indecisive classmates when trying to play a game at recess. It also incorporates some different games, spelling, days of the week, and counting among other things, without really being a learning book.
When you are teaching students about compromising this is the perfect book to use! It says it is for a level 2 reader. I like how this book goes through chiildren who can't agree on rules, and how they finally decide on rules they can agree on.
