I read through this book because the character looked familiar but I didn't know from where. This book was published in 2001 when I was not typically reading this style of book. This was a cute little collection of short stories written like comics. They are all good natured and entertaining for the age group this book is directed towards.

A woman finds a sheep at her doorstep and decides to raise him as a little boy - named Johnny Mutton! This quirky look at conformity is a great way to help children understand that it is fine to be different, even when your classmates say you are 'strange'. Johnny never lets the fact that he is different stop him from fully participating in life - a lesson for child and adult alike!

Graphic Novel. 1st or 2nd grade. Although I am not the biggest fan of graphic novels, this one provided lots of bright and colorful pictures that would prove interesting to children

I loved the character Johnny, instead of an apple for his teacher he brings a bag of marshmallows. He does things differently and is successful.

"The Many Adventures of Johnny Mutton" is a graphic novel with different chapters that each tell about a different adventure Johnny Mutton has. Johnny Mutton is a little sheep who different from all his peers but never cares. He embraces being different and being an individual.

James Proimos uses very bright colors and expressive faces in his graphic novel to make the stories more amusing. The text is also written in a goofy font which add to the humor of the stories. The panels have text to explain the story along with speech bubbles to illustrate what the characters are saying.

The Many Adventures of Johnny Mutton includes 6 short stories in graphic novel. Momma Mutton was so overwhelmed with joy when she found a little baby on her doorstep, she didn't even notice it wasn't a baby boy, but a lamb. She raised this little lamb as her own son, teaching him to walk on two legs, brush his teeth, tie his shoes and everything else a young boy should do. The stories are humorous and colorful. The vocabulary is simple and appropriate for readers in grades 2 through 4.
