Can a bookish scientist find the man inside the monster?
Uncomfortable with people, Victoria spends her days - and her nights - working in her lab. When her funding is terminated, her only option is a dilapidated building in the tiny town of Screaming Woods.
To her surprise, the town's inhabitants prove almost as fascinating as her research - especially the massive creature living in the burned out windmill behind her lab. Everything about the big silent male captivates her and for once, it’s not a purely scientific interest.
After the incident that turned Frank into a monster, he discovered in the most painful way how dangerous he could be. Now he remains isolated from everyone and concentrates on his woodworking. He is determined to not let anyone close to him - especially not the buttoned up little scientist renting his barn. She has far too many questions on those kissable lips.
As things heat up between them, can he believe he’s more than just another experiment? Or will his past tear them apart?
This sweet and steamy monster romance is intended for mature readers. Who says monsters can’t fall in love? In Screaming Woods, anything is possible.
Welcome back to the little town turned monstrous by a party potion gone wrong. Your favorite instalove authors are bringing you hairier, scarier, and hornier monsters than ever before in this beastly series coming to your kindle in May 2023.
This was OKAY, but not really Honey Phillips' best work. It had too few things going on, and no real conflict apart from Frank's own angst over his past--something, that didn't feel all too serious, by the way, no matter how much of a b---- his mother was.
As for the romance, it had its cute moments, but ultimately had me thinking several times of Frantor, which is really similar in a lot of ways but a much better read.
Victoria is a scientist with a love for books. She prefers her own company to others that is until she meets Frank. He’s on her wavelength like no one else. Can one truly love a monster?
Environmental scientist Victoria (h) loses her research funding and ends up setting-up her own lab in a converted barn in Screaming Woods. Frank (H) lives as a Frankenstein’s monster-like being after being transformed during the incident that changed many of the town’s residents into monsters. He’s not too thrilled when his building is rented out, but still finds himself drawn to Victoria. Victoria is patient and understanding of Frank’s concerns about his physicality and nature. Sweet monster romance with plenty of heat and a little bit of relationship angst.
We have a winner!! Safe No cheating NO OM/OW h had sex once as an experiment to see how it felt, and she didn't feel anything so she decided sex wasn't for her. H was a teenager when he turned and he gets an erection very rarely and when he does, never tries to relieve himself. Definitely celibate, but I think he is a virgin... HEA with sweet epilogue This was sweet! We have a Frankenstein, named Frank, living alone in his family home. He hides and is ashamed of his looks. In comes Victoria Stein, a scientist that lost was forced to find a new place to turn into a lab for her research and decided to move to Screaming Woods and rent out the barn from Frank via Inga his secretary/pseudo mom/matchmaker *wink*. Perfect place to live and work. Little does Frank know that his barn was rented out to a beautiful, curvy woman, so he hides and watches her. She spots him and is happy to see him! She warmly greets him and he is so chivalrous and polite with her. He shows her his workshop where he carves wood and furniture, and is a little ashamed seeing all the imperfection, but Victoria sees beautiful pieces and praises him for his talent. Their meet cute goes well, until she says she is a scientist. After the incident, he HATES scientists and yells at her to leave. She begs him to listen to her that she would never hurt him, but he doesn't listen and screams at her to leave. She runs back to her barn with tears in her eyes. He regrets it and didn't think apologizing with words would do very much, so since he is a wood carver, he carves a beautiful table for her and offers it to her as an apology. She of course accepts and with a few bumps in the road in their relationship, mainly he has trust issues and it gets in the way, he wonders how they can be together if he risks hurting her physically. Still their love persists and they have romantic moments that will make you smile and root for them. Sweet Frank is scarred by how his mother treated him, rejecting him, and those scars are deeper and more painful than the ones he has on his body. I always say that when you feel the love between a couple the sex is hot and meaningful. They clearly love each other and even though there was a misunderstanding at the end and he ran, she comes in to defend him when his sorry excuse of a mother tried to swindle him out of his home and property. Victoria defends Frank, facing his biological mother, so Frank didn't have to face her alone. His biological "mother" stomps out, leaving the lovebirds to talk. He is hesitant and asks if she really wants to stay with him, to which she replies that of course! For the rest of their lives! The way he asks is just too sweet. I really like Frank and Victoria, I think they are my favorite couple in Screaming Woods. These two are so sweet, and Frank is a gentle, sensitive, scarred monster, fearing rejection, but the forward, sweet Victoria loves every bit of him and they live happily ever after! The epilogue was very sweet and made me sigh and end the story with a smile on my face. I enjoyed this one, what a breath of fresh air from the shit show that the rest of the series has been with only a few exceptions. THIS is one of them. I recommend it! Happy reading!

I liked the relationship between Frank and Victoria because they were sweet together.. I am glad that everything worked out and they got a happy ending
This is an OK paranormal romance, but I did have a few issues with it. It gets 2.5 stars from me, rounded up to 3 stars.
First, it was too short to have as much character development as I like. I would have liked a little more backstory on both Frank and Victoria.
I also felt like the couple was more in lust than in love. They were definitely in lust, but they just didn't know each other well enough to be in love so quickly. I get that they were supposed to be fated mates, but Victoria was human -- so she wouldn't have fallen in instalove.
Finally, there was a lot of sex in this story. I enjoy romantic sex scenes -- but these were pretty explicit, with a lot of dirty talk. I just didn't find them romantic at all.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Wow what a great book this was and having not read any of the others in this series has me wanting to start at the beginning because of this one. The main characters each had past issues with one showing more scars than the other but the hurt and pain is still there. Victoria Stein is a Scientist that’s just lost her funding for her lab and has to move to Screaming Woods and she rents out a barn the continue her research but what she got was so much more with the sexy grumpy man next door who makes her want to get to know this male as a woman not a scientist in this strange quirky and friendly town. Frank is a wood worker and makes a good living out of it but he keeps to himself because he looks like a monster after the incident that left him looking like Frankenstein and now he has to put up with Victoria who is renting his barn that his bookkeeper friend Inga allowed but when he gets to know her he finds out she is a scientist he is not happy but with Inga and Tom interfering and think they would make a perfect couple. But they start dating and all is going well even though they are both shy the attraction to each other is burning hot but there past issues need to be address if they want to move forward. Now the Mother that abandoned him while he was young has returned to town and although she shows no physical signs but she is a monster on the inside and I didn’t like her at all. How does it all turn out in the end and what impact does his mother have on there future together.

“These last few years have been hard on him. He deserves a little happiness. I suspect both of you do.”
I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I absolutely love the Screaming Woods and the great variety of monsters who live in it. Victoria Stein lost the budget for her lab and needed a new place to work. When her assistant told her of Screaming Woods, it was perfect. Frank is a woodworker and makes beautiful furniture, but judges them too harshly for their imperfections. He doesn't want the barn rented out, and certainly not to an attractive woman. But Victoria doesn't run away screaming when they meet and the chemistry between them is sweet. But when he finds out she is a scientist, he runs her out of his workspace. He hates scientists after one was responsible for changing him into the monster he is now. I loved (and was saddened) to learn of his relationship with Dr. Karloff and how horrible the night he had changed had been.
He apologized to Victoria in the sweetest way, and I loved seeing their relationship build. They were absolutely adorable together and a perfect match. Victoria was so kind and patient and reassuring to him, and it was exactly what he needed. It made me smile so much when I learned her last name is Stein, so together, they are literally Frank & Stein. *grin* Frank's horrible mother also makes a short appearance and it was so satisfying! A wonderful read! 5 stars.
A Frankenstein-esque monster (who's aptly named Frank) and a scientist who didn't know monsters existed before she moved to Screaming Woods. YES!
To be fair, it's not all sunshine and roses for these two. Frank is wary of getting close to anyone and he's not real keen on scientists in general after the incident that changed most of the town into monsters. That said, even his dislike of scientists doesn't stop him from pining for Victoria. Okay, maybe pining is a little dramatic. He certainly can't stop thinking about her, though. And he likes the way she looks at him. There's just the little case of his wariness and his dislike to get over.
On Victoria's end, she isn't too taken aback by the oddities she finds in Screaming Woods. Frank is big and quiet and she's intrigued by him at first glance. Spending a little time together makes that intrigue blossom into something more. Convincing the big guy she's willing to try a relationship with him is probably their biggest hurdle.
While the families of most of the residents in Screaming Woods still managed to support those who had been changed, not all felt that they could. Frank's mother was awful to him before then so there was no hope after. She just dropped him and swiftly moved on. Leaving him with the burnt remains of what had been his father's pride and joy along with a whole different body. Since then he has been rather negative about scientists, who wouldn't, so finding one now installed in his barn was a huge shock. Victoria is determined to try and make the world a better place however her research and project is considered boring by the board. By that read "will not make us lot of money" at which point she is told that it has been dropped. If she wants to carry on with it she'll need to find and fund another lab somewhere. That somewhere being Screaming Woods. As a scientist she hasn't really had relationships and she doesn't get men at all then again the one who has suddenly made her heart beat a lot faster is not exactly a man. These two together are great and so sweet.
Victoria Stein is doing research in phytoremediation. She has lost her laboratory building and now must scramble to find another place close or loose her grant. Her research assistant suggested moving to Screaming Woods and has found her a barn in rent cheaply to set up her lab in. So off she goes to Screaming Woods!
Frank Hollander was changed into Frankenstein in “The Incident “. Even his own mother abandoned him! He has hidden out in his workshop making furniture ever since. When he finds out his business manager has rented out his barn he is furious! But when he sees Victoria he is smitten, not that he would ever show himself to her. But she takes matters into her own hands when she goes for a walk and finds his workshop. Surprisingly, she is not afraid of him and finds herself attracted to him. But when he finds out she is a scientist, he kicks her out tells her never to come back.
Can these two overcome the many obstacles in their path? Another great book by Honey Phillips!
Frank and Victoria! This is one review I wish I could write just using a billion hearts. Frank owns my heart right now. I just want to cuddle him and keep him safe. Victoria too. They both are so precious and special. So much pain and hardship for both of them, different types but pain just the same. And that makes it so much sweeter when they find their HEA! Keep a fan handy for the sexy times, btw, cause they are hot. I love the "monsters" of the Screaming Woods. Though we all know they aren't the monster's. The Woods are so full of great characters, stories and most of all love. This book is a happy way to spend a couple of hours. Honey Phillips is an amazing author who knows her way into my heart. She has never disappointed me yet. 5 stars and a billion hearts!
Without a Stitch is a charming and super sweet story that had me chuckling on more than one occasion with its subtle nod to Frankenstein’s monster. MFC scientist Victoria Stein has lost her funding and is in need of new lab space. Her assistant recommends the small town of Screaming Woods where she is sure to find something affordable, and she does, in a barn behind the owner MMC Frank Hollander’s burned out windmill. The not so mad scientist and the self isolated monster meet for the first time and attraction blossoms. With its perfectly crafted characters and engaging writing this newest series entry was a very entertaining spicy short read!.

Two lonely souls come together in this town that’s been tucked away. The accident from years past turned his body into a monster, his soul was bruised and battered , but he remained a good man. She was a scientist that found herself with few friends and a lab that was yanked out from under her. This lead her to the small quite town where they found each other. They had a rough start to their relationship, then a scientific one leading to all kinds of pleasure. When his mother returned he realized that even though the accident had not turned her into a physical monster like it had almost everyone else in this town. That she was in fact, and had always been a true monster of a human being.

This is a short story- only a hundred or so pages- but very sweet. The take on Frankenstein’s monster was adorable. Poor Frank is haunted by memories of his past, the pain of having a less than ideal mother and the fact he is sometimes stronger and larger than he realizes. Victoria is a scientist that is very focused on her work and has little experience with men. The two together makes for wonderful pairing. I liked the side characters and I’m intrigued by the deer at the beginning of the story. The only reason this is not a five star review is because I wish it had been longer. I wish we could have seen them more in the future or more of there relationship. Beyond that desire, it’s a great quick read with likable characters
Years ago, the town had a Halloween party that changed everyone's life. Some turned into literal monsters, and others were filled with dark magic. Frank was turned into Frankenstein's Monster. His mother, being the wretched woman she always was, left him behind. Victoria was found on the steps of a church as a new baby. She found solace in her work as a scientist. When she rents Frank's barn, she has no idea what she's gotten into, but she isn't scared. Can he move past his twisted memories and give them a chance?
Fine entertainment! Screaming Woods is such a unique town. Many of the people within have been changed beyond their wildest imagination. This must be an overwhelming experience for them. For Frank, it has certainly been a traumatic and lonely existence. I admire Victoria for the worthy work she is doing, for her ability to overcome obstacles in her path, and for her easy acceptance of the people of Screaming Woods. She also is a loner, for a variety of reasons. I love seeing the two of them find comfort in each other’s company. This is meant to be! Frank and Victoria bring out the best in each other - a delightful insta-romance!
This short story has everything you would want in a book. Mystery, action, romance with just the right amount of steam, and a wonderful HEA. I loved the characters. Frank is one of the victims of the Screaming Wood's dilemma. He lives a solitary life. His past won't allow for any other way. I liked him though. Victoria is a scientist. She needs a new lab. and finds one at Screaming Woods. I love her scientific lingo , especially when it comes to Frank and their relationship. Proving their hypothesis was fun to read. This is a quick , fun book with plenty of heart.

What a sweet play of Frankenstein' s monster. In this story Frank has been through some things and his woodworking is his solace. Victoria is a scientist that has lost her funding , and ends up in this place where most residents have..... Changed . Not that that bothers her. Her research is paramount. Once Victoria comes into this different community, she feels ..... Welcome. Now, to me , I don't think that the ," incident " , was totally explained, but I see that this is a series of the incident at Screamers Hollow, so perhaps answers are there. It was a cute read for me .
This was just passable, but the weird attempt at conflict at the start and a plot error which should have been picked up drew me right out and I was glad for the kinda rushed conflict at the end, it's almost like no-one had any thoughts about calling before just rocking up early in the morning (no apologies made either) with important news.
The epilogue also made very little sense. The surprise was the result of hundreds of hours of work that went on without her notice, at all. Yet they still spent loads of time together and she was never aware of any works going on at the top of the hill?
This novella resonated with a sweet and emotionally packed love story! Honey Phillips takes us back to Screaming Woods to tell us the story of Frank and Victoria. It was easy to read right through it, the words just flowed. In this story, there's a lovely lesson about self-acceptance and inner beauty while at the same time sharing this couple's building love story. I was gifted with an advanced reader copy, with no obligations implied. I loved this cute story so much that I'll be purchasing a copy to keep as soon as it releases!

This is Book 1 Monster Between the Sheets Season 2 starring Victoria and Frank. This one will have you laughing at how these two meet and fall in love. Monsters are not as scary as normal people like Frank's mother. That woman is just cruel. I loved how strong Victoria was and how her helps Fran see he maybe different but he is still worth loving. I can not wait to get my hands on more of these monster love stories.

I thought this book was cute and sweet and a little spicy. Victoria and Frank heal each other and they don’t need any more than that. They love their simple life and work. Frank may seem scary, but he's a cinnamon roll inside. I love how Victoria accepts him as he is. Screaming Woods is a fun and unique little corner of the world and I'm loving its inhabitants! On the surface this book is a fun little tromp in "monsterville" and a seriously cute novella, but the story is so much deeper than that. There's a lot of overcoming life challenges in this book for both characters. Fun read! 4 stars!
I haven't read all the "Monster between the Sheets" books, but I have enjoyed the ones that I have, and this is no exception. Frank & Victoria's story is a sweet romance between two lonely people finding the one that makes them happy. All of the inhabitants of Screaming Woods have to deal with life changing circumstance after the "Incident". Nice to see them find their happy place with their other halves. Love seeing new authors writing within the series. Never know who will become your next fav author afterwards. Well worth my time & $$. I am off to the next book in the series.
Loved this story! Victoria is a scientist who rents a barn in Screaming Woods to continue her research when her grant is revoked. Frank is turned into a monster years earlier in a Halloween party incident. He keeps away from everyone and is lonely. When he finds out his business manager has rented out his Ben he us furious, when he meets Victoria it is love at first sight. Sweet romance with amazing chemistry, true love, a little misunderstanding and miscommunication and a beautiful HEA.

Another screaming wood story. Frank Evans Frankenstein has his own woodshop. Victoria the scientist has moved into his barn to continue her research. Good story. Conflict. Frankenstein of course is huge. And Victoria is young and learning about the town. Of course change of history. Frankenstein is in peril about what has happened to his child home. For a maybe two hour read it is filled with a lot of good information of how these to make a relationship. HEA.

Dr. Victoria Stein needs a new location to continue her research and thinks she’s found the right spot in Screaming Woods. But she keeps feeling watching eyes. Frank was one of Dr. Karloff’s accidental victims years ago and became “Frankenstein’s Monster.” Ever since then, he doesn’t trust scientists, so when he discovers that his barn has been rented to a scientist, he is most upset. When he goes to observe this person, he finds himself strangely compelled to keep observing her, much to his chagrin. And then they meet and the chemistry is amazing!
This story gets 5 stars for making me feel happy, content, loved, cherished & so much more. I was having the worst day & this story took me to meet the kindest, most wonderful, romantic & loving people. It lifted my heart & reminded me how wonderful love, especially new love, can be. It's a special book to be able to do that in the mental state I was in. It was exactly what I needed when I didn't know what I needed.
Thank you, Honey Phillips, for writing this beautiful love story.
Without a Stitch is Victoria and Frank's HEA. This book brings me happily back to Screaming Woods. I enjoy each unique "monster" in this series so much. Very fun to read. Victoria is a scientist. She loves her research and doesn't take time for much else. Until she meets Frank. Frank is unlike anyone she has ever met, but in the best of ways. This was a sweet with spice read. I enjoyed it.
