Her Vampire Lover

Rate this book
American high school teacher Sonja Dubcek hopes her vacation in Prague will be filled with beauty, history, and maybe a little romance. But reality proves better than fantasy when a chance encounter with a sinfully sexy count turns her journey into an erotic adventure.

Gregori has never met a woman who arouses his desire—and his vampire's hunger—the way that Sonja does. After only one taste, he craves more than just her flesh and blood. He invites her to be his guest, but soon fears what he might do to keep her with him forever…

I thought this paranormal book had a good mix of romance and steamier parts. It's a quick read, so it can be hard to fit both in, but the author did really well. While short, it definitely piqued my interest enough to want to check out more!

Sonja (Sunny) is on her way to Prague by train. After waiting over an hour for a table in the dining car she insists on sitting at the empty booth that is being held for the Count – whether he shows up or not! Of course, he shows up! They have an instant attraction and have a lovely meal. There are a lot of feelings but what could come of it since she will need to go back to the States once her vacation is over.

Instant attraction on vamp's side starts off this novella. Sonya quickly becomes enamored as well. Like, lust and some sexy times quickly fuel the story along. I liked that along with sizzling hot couples scenes they were balanced by growing affection and laughter.

I will definitely be reading more by this author.

Her Vampire Lover by Caridad Pineiro
Dark Seduction series #5. Harlequin Nocturne Cravings. Paranormal erotica romance novella. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Gregori can’t control his vampire’s hunger around American high school teacher Sonja Dudcek.

Short and sexy vampire romance. Steamy fantasy for an afternoon delight. A sightly different take on vampire characteristics.

"Her Vampire Lover" took me less than 30 minutes to read and seemed to have a good premise but I did find myself wanting to slow things down a bit and have that much-needed suspense that this type of story merits. There was no lead-in as far as Gregori being a vampire and Sonja being so quick to accept that he was this supernatural creature had my eyebrows shooting up in surprise.

The book also took a bit of adjustment on my part. After all, the general idea of a vampire is that they are no longer living so the fact that Gregori still has a beating heart, albeit faintly, and actually still breathes was unexpected. He also wasn't cool to the touch BUT the sun did affect him, forcing him to stay indoors during the day.

There was also a lack of explanation of how Gregori became a vampire. Yes, the Holocaust was mentioned and how he had to do what was needed for his family but was his family saved by another vampire and Gregori offered himself in exchange? I didn't quite get it.

There was a lot of steam in this book and there were parts of it that were pretty good but so much more could have been done in order to have made it even better. Like I said, it left me wanting...

Two and a half stars, rounded off to three stars for GR's purposes.

This was a good story. I bought the audiobook of it and it was a short but enjoyable story.

Sonja is a school teacher that's on vacation. She's on a train, traveling to Prague when she happens to meet Gregori. They feel an immediate connection and spend time together. Their feelings grow but Gregori has issues controlling his hunger. They have some issues to overcome but it has a nice ending with an unexpected surprise. It was a sweet, sexy story. :D

Audiobook Review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5

HOT! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I enjoyed everything about this but I must admit that I wouldn’t have minded a bit of a glimpse into their future. Gregori loved Sonja enough to learn to control himself and that made him so sweet even though he was still a bit of a monster. The heat between these two was palpable and I thought that Sasha Dunbrooke did a great job of conveying all of the emotions in this story.

Short, but good.

I had just finished 4 long novels and wanted something quick and different, this did the trick.
Very well written.

A nice story. I'm not sure about the pregnancy though. It left me wondering what was going to happen next. I'm looking forward to more by this author.

Quick read. Would have loved a longer story. Certain parts seemed rushed.
