Read this for school. I thought it was quite tedious, with - take this as an example - an entire chapter dedicated to Anna going shopping in Bergamo, especially since it had nothing to do with the plot. My God, I just couldn't care less for a fictional character's shoe size..

But I guess it was for the sake of the comprehensibility of this book. You know, it's an A2 "imparare leggendo" book, so a book considered for pre-intermediate readers, and a lot of people from my class had enormous problems with it (Mind you, we're an italian course in our 2nd year). I thought the book was written... well for the fact that it had to stay in the A2 borders of comprehensibility. I marked some nice expressions and fancy words and generelly understood everything. I'm glad to know that I'll easily be able to move on to B1 or B2 and maybe one day I'll be able to read Dante's Inferno in Italian. Which I've already started, but it's admittedly not the easiest piece of literature.

Taking it for what it is, it’s a useful educational stepping stone. True to it’s intended reading level, nothing is too complex or difficult. Story is pretty banal, but there are plenty of useful exercises and cultural information between the chapters.

A really cool little book for learning Italian in a fun way. The exercises are really useful, only thing is that it would be nice if there were solutions as well. The story is cute, a bit all over the place, but it's all to teach Italian in different scenarios.

Il libro è lungo 64 pagine e ha più esercizi che storia per se, quindi quello che mi aspettavo è quello che ho ottenuto.

Nice little beginner level italian book, the story is quite short but there are plenty of learning exercises. It would have been nice to have a small list of unusual words and their meaning though.

Buona Lettura💘

A great book for beginning Italian readers. It's a cute little mystery about a German girl named Anna, who is studying Italian in Bergamo. The story gets going when she discovers a diary while cleaning her dorm room, which hints towards a major art theft at a local museum. Depending how fluent you are in Italian, this book could be read in an hour or over a couple of days. It took me a few hours. I'm a long way from Dante's Inferno, but finishing an entire book in an entire language, no matter how short, is a confidence builder. Baby steps. Baby steps.
