ஆர்யபட்டா' என்கிற இந்த நாவல் கன்னடத்தில் திரைப்படமாக எடுக்கப்பட்டது. அதற்கு சுஜாதா திரைக்கதைக்கு பதிலாக நாவல் வடிவத்தில் எழுதிக் கொடுத்தார். இது கல்கி வார இதழில் தொடர்கதையாகவும் வந்தது. ஒரு திரைப்படத்தை மனத்தில் வைத்து எழுதப்பட்டிருந்தாலும், கதை விறுவிறுப்பான ‘த்ரில்லர்’ வடிவத்தில் உள்ளது.

About the author

Sujatha was the allonym of the Tamil author S. Rangarajan, Author of over 100 novels, 250 short stories, ten books on science, ten stage plays, and a slim volume of poems. He was one of the most popular authors in Tamil literature, and a regular contributor to topical columns in Tamil periodicals such as Ananda Vikatan, Kumudam and Kalki. He had a wide readership, and served for a brief period as the editor of Kumudam, and has also written screenplays and dialogues for several Tamil movies.

As an engineer, he supervised the design and production of the electronic voting machine (EVM) during his tenure at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a machine which is currently used in elections throughout India. As an author he inspired many authors, including Balakumaran, Madhan.

My first tamil novel. Not very disappointed per se. But i have seen similar stories hundreds of times in movies, and the fact that this novel was written for a movie makes it worse.

Boring for most part. But suddenly becomes interesting towards the end. English dialogue written in tamil is jarring sometimes.

சுமாரான நாவல். ஒரு கன்னடத் திரைப்படத்துக்காக ரமேஷ் அரவிந்த் கேட்டுக்கொண்டதற்கு இணங்க, தமிழ்த்திரைப்படமான அந்தநாளை ஒட்டி எழுதப்பட்ட கதை. சுஜாதா இடது கையால் அவசரம் அவசரமாக எழுதியது போலத் தோன்றியது. அந்த நாள் திரைப்படத்தை அப்படியே மீண்டும் எழுத ஏன் சுஜாதா தேவை என்று புரியவில்லை. இதையும் மீறி நாவலில் சுஜாதா வெளிப்பட்ட தருணங்களையெல்லாம் கன்னடத் திரைப்படத்தில் இல்லாமல் ஆக்கியிருந்தார்கள்!

கன்னடத் திரைப்படத்துக்காக ரமேஷ் அரவிந்த் கேட்டுக்கொண்டதற்காக "அந்த நாள்"
திரைப்படத்தை ஒட்டி எழுதப்பட்ட கதை. சுஜாதா எனோ தானோவென எழுதியது போலத் தோன்றியது. "அந்த நாள்" திரைப்பட கதையை அப்படியே மீண்டும் பெங்களூர் பின்னணியில் எழுதி இருக்கிறார் . சொல்லப்போனா அந்தநாள்" கதை இந்த ஸ்டோரிய விட சிறப்பா இருக்கும்.

ஒரு கன்னட படத்துக்காக நடிகர் ரமேஷ் அரவிந்த் சொன்ன ஒரு சிறு விஷயத்தில் இருந்து உடல் எடுத்து புதினம் இது. அந்த திரைப்படத்தையும் பார்க்க நேர்ந்தேன். திரைக்கதை சற்று மாறுபட்டது புதினத்தில் இருந்து. படத்துக்கே உண்டான பாணியில். படமும் சுமாராக இருந்தது. வழக்கமான சுஜாதா மர்ம நாவல்களில் இருந்து சற்று தொய்வு நிலையில் இருந்தாலும் ரயில் மற்றும் பேருந்து பயணத்திற்க்கேற்ற ஒரு சிறு புதினம் இது.

NOT SUJATHA'S BEST WORK.

an exciting crime thriller if you haven't read any of sujatha's book. the story is starts with a murder of scientist. the narration is non-linear.everything is centered around 'SOMU'

the charecters are mostly inconsistent especially "bharthi", seems like dumb house at the begining, suddenly a brilliant assistant in the flashback and selfless patriot at the end.

doesn't seem like a typical sujatha story. story was fast paced.

an engaging storyline . SOMU - ??? read this book to find out how the story plot changes from "who" is somu to "what" is SOMU !! the story is not as racy in the second half ! predictable plots ! surely not a page turner !

The plot was pretty rugged at the beginning. Was predictable for the most part... End with a twist on why would some one kill Anand.. Didn't find sujathas touch.. A mediocre book suitable for journeys and long waits

Gripping & Suspenseful. The typical Sujatha murder mystery. All the usual Sujatha praise applies.

Must watch the Kannada movie inspired from the book.
