This book will teach you how to play the cello from the very beginning. It is composed of different 1. Introduction to the Cello (Introduces history and the parts of the cello) 2. The Staff, The Bass Clef and the Open Strings 3. The First Position 4. Repertoire pieces and different music styles 5. Piano Accompaniments. The concepts and techniques are learned very progressively and are introduced by theory boxes and exercises. The pieces become progressively bigger and harder and are ordered by key signature and hand position. The pieces in the book are well known classical themes from famous composers, popular folk songs from several countries, important pieces from cello repertoire and pieces by the author. You can download the sound files and additional piano accompaniment scores that accompany the book at the publisher's website //www.arts2science.com and play some exercises and pieces with an accompaniment. There are also applications about the cello (with a virtual cello) and additional material to download for free.
