Almost thirty, Brenna Smith isn’t sure how much more off-track her life could be. She certainly never pictured herself living at home with her parents, working in a job she dislikes for a loathsome boss. The only bright spot in her mundane existence is the cute guy she runs into every morning as she stops for coffee.
Brock McCrae has worked hard to be able to manage his own construction company. Handsome, successful and full of life, he finds his world turned upside down as he falls for a woman he knows only as The Coffee Girl.
Is there something more than a shared love of coffee brewing between these two?
A hopeless romantic with a bit of sarcasm thrown in for good measure, Shanna Hatfield is a best-selling author of clean romantic fiction written with a healthy dose of humor.
In addition to blogging and eating too much chocolate, she is completely smitten with her husband, lovingly known as Captain Cavedweller.
Shanna creates character-driven romances with realistic heroes and heroines. Her historical westerns have been described as “reminiscent of the era captured by Bonanza and The Virginian” while her contemporary works have been called “laugh-out-loud funny, and a little heart-pumping sexy without being explicit in any way.”
She is a member of Western Writers of America, Women Writing the West, and Romance Writers of America.
Just a really boring story with plain characters and not much happens other than 2 people meeting and falling in love. The characters feel a lot younger than they are. The book had no heat,no interesting characters, no interesting storyline. I wouldn't recommend it at all
This would have been a zero or one-star read, if not for the redeeming factor of the business that is started as a result of the story line. The characters themselves were too stereotypical for me, and the physical displays between the two main characters were distractingly overdone. I did not see almost any impact of the characters' faith on the choices they made, and their motivations for choices seemed to be self-serving (the way they were raised, etc.). From the full-lip kiss the first time they met, to the ridiculous times together in which their hands are all over one another and one has to pull back before they go too far, this book did not have enough redeeming qualities for me to recommend it to others looking for Christian fiction.
Shanna Hatfield is my go to author when I need that feel good, fall in love Book. Coffee Girl was fantastic. Brenna and Brock swept me away and totally satisfied my appetite for a sweet romance and a happy ever after. Sometimes we need to listen to our dreams, they don’t always come to us, “just because”, many times they are giving us a message. Shanna continually with each and every book, makes her readers believe in destiny, happy ever after, and true love, I just devour each and every one of her stories. An Amazing Ending!!!!
I really liked this book!! Such a fun romance- two complete strangers who run into each other on a regular basis fall in love. What I REALLY loved was how the book didn’t just end when they fell for each other- they continued to date and plan for the future, seeing each other’s good and bad days, and dealing with life. It felt more real- fights they had, jobs that caused difficulties, friendships, etc. A good clean romance for sure!
Coffee Girl what an amazing book of taking a risk and following your Dreams. All of us have dreams and sometimes we need to just let go of fear and doubt and follow those dreams. Brenna and Brock’s story is an amazing story. Once again Shanna Hatfield has woven the perfect story with just the right amount of romance, drama, sarcasm and downright laugh out loud moments. Coffee Girl is a not to be missed read!!
This was an exciting series starter. Contemporary Christian fiction/romance/suspense all rolled into a ride that at times I had to stop and take a breather! Parent Guide: due to some situations, I would encourage you to preread this book before sharing with your older teens and above. I was able to read a copy of this book via Overdrive, but it did not in any way affect my review. All opinions are my own.
I loved the main characters and the way their relationship developed. It seemed that the two villains--Wesley the Weasel and Will the would-be kidnapper--were contrived to add conflict to the story.
This is just one sweet outstanding romance that gives you a feeling of peace, love and joy. Ms Hatfield has become one of my favorite authors with writing like this is there is no wonder I adore her writing style. I still have many more of her books to work through slowly but surely I will get them all read. It is just a sweet clean romance with wonderful character that are raised right to respect other why having a little fun and pulling a few pranks. I could smell the coffee as I read this book nothing like your first cup of coffee along with a wonderful romance to start your day.
Brenna and Brock meet in a coffee show from first site Brock is attached to her never knowing her name he just called her coffee girl. Brenna took one smell and was hook with his earthy scent. The pull is power as they go on about their day. Brenna day has went from bad to worse with a flat tire on the interstate who come to the rescue but Brock one thing leads to another with a few ups and downs before you know it they are hooked on more than coffee.
This is a story you can relate to about normal people who are working 9 to 5. They have the same issues as we do. It is just a sweet read that is cute and funny the characters are down to earth. I loved their friends and can’t wait to see Kat and Levis’s story I know it is going to be funny and full of a lot of sass with Kat’s attitude it is going to be an outstanding read. I loved the brothers as they go at it back and forwards. The author does throw in a little suspense to get the ball rounding with an ex along with a hateful boss.
Brenna is just a wonderful sweet lady that tries her best to get along but watch if you hit the right buttons she will come out fighting. Brock is a wonderful gentleman until you mess with his women than he will lay you flat in 1 point 5.
If you are looking for a wonderful clean romance that you don’t have to use your brain to keep up with a busy plot this is the read for you. Sometimes you just want a feeling of peace that is what this read gives to you.
Brenna and Brock unoffically meet when they see each other at the same coffee shop every morning. When Brock finally buys Brenna's drink without even introducing himself, she is so excited about the prospect of getting to know him. Unfortunately, she runs into him the same evening with a flat tire on the side of the road while she's having a breakdown in her car. They share a meal but not names afterwards.
The story starts out with intrigue and is super cute. But the tension in the story is so trivial, the story was just unrealistic. Brenna has a boss who is completely out of line and she has an ex-boyfriend who turns crazy. As much as these issues tried to force Brenna to stand up for herself, I didn't feel like her character became any stronger... And the issues didn't really relate to Brock and Brenna's relationship so they seemed forced. Brock's biggest problem is renovating his own home fast enough to ask Brenna to marry him and live there.
Their love story is cute (though they don't act like 30 year olds) but it felt really superficial because the tension in the story was forced.
Couldn't really give this one a higher rating as it was super cheesy and over the top at times! But mainly because of Brenna, she really is very immature, overreacts when its really clear that Brock's intentions are good, but then has no productive reaction to the abuse from her boss??? I'm sure I read she was 30ish, but stamps her feet like a teenager! Not endearing at all. Brock wasn't too bad and it was great that they wasn't sex in every chapter, some of the secondary characters were ok. Overall the book wasn't that bad, it just didn't wow me, if you want an easy, cheesy read, this one is perfect.
very good book. It is an every day type of book that a girl meets a boy , they work hard at the everyday thing in life. Mom, sister, and daughter open specialty shops and are very productive in their business. The thing that I most enjoyed about the book is that it has romance and it is handled very well. You don't have scene after scene of the couple drooling over each other. Easy reading and the story just flows freely.
I had a smile on my face from the beginning of this book, and it was there for most of it. I liked the romance -even if it focuses on physical attraction- the characters were likable, and the plot was different from the usual romantic books we usually read. But, about 70% of the story something changed, clichés and the typical kind of scenes where the male character comes to the rescue dominated the last part of it and all the way to the end.
Overall I was pleasantly surprised by this read, as my reading tastes are a bit more racy. I will definitely be checking out more of Shanna's stories, when I need a change of pace!! Thank you for a wonderful read 😊
I always enjoy Shanna Hatfield books. The stories are sweet with real, relatable characters that have normal, everyday problems. They are a breath of fresh air in today’s harsh world. I gobble up her stories. I highly recommend this author and all her books.
This was the most fun book, it was easy to read easy to fall in love with the wonderful characters, I laughed through most of this book it was awesome and I loved it.
I'm giving this book a FIVE STAR simply for sweetness.. exactly what I could use at the end of this past week ;-) Such a CUTE story, it made me happy to read it. Do yourself a favor and snag it - it was on FreeBooksy.
This is a sweet contemporary - think more lifetime than hallmark though. More drama, getting closer to crossing the line with the kissing scenes...they don't , but it may be a little much for younger readers used to the sweeter stories by this author.
It’s funny what you may dream about, but if the end great, despite how things get waylaid. I think love can always prevail, doesn’t hurt that you have support from family and friends, dream big, pray for your dreams to come true...
To be honest, it took awhile for me to get in to this story. However, my favorite part was when Brock felt an “indescribable nudge.” I thank God that He shows us when someone needs help. Very good!
I love this story!! The nicknames are cute & the sweet way they fall in love is awesome!! I must say adding in a stalker was brilliant. Who would think a stalker would materialize in a small town?! Love Brock & Brenna!!
Morning coffee stops on the way to work lead to many different things. Especially when Coffee Girl's coffee is purchased by Construction Guy. And then...he's not there for a few days. Did she scare him off? This one will make you smile. We've all been in their shoes at one time or another.
Brenna Smith isn’t sure how much more off-track her life could be. She certainly never pictured herself living at home with her parents, working in a job she dislikes for a loathsome boss.
What a sweet love story! Brock and Brenna are so cute together. I enjoyed watching their courtship and the way their love grew. Another great book from Shanna Hatfield!
