One morning, that's all it takes to turn Harper's life upside down.
In the span of a few hours, Harper is suddenly jobless, single, homeless and has no idea what she's doing with her life. Hoping to escape what her life has become, and her stupid cheating ex, Harper packs up her life and hops on a plane from Toronto to Sova to spend some quality time with her sister in Europe.
The last thing Harper needs right now is to meet a beautiful man with striking eyes, down to earth personality and an unbelievable body.
Tate just wants to relax, enjoy life and have the chance to be loved for who he is, not for what his title is. When Tate meets the gorgeous Harper whose magnetic pull is too much to resist, he can't help but let his guard down and her in.
But, Harper isn't staying in Sova. And Tate's a prince. They're from two different worlds. They can be friends. Being friends is totally possible.
Will she be able to hold onto this new life she's found, or will she leave more broken than when she arrived? Just Friends With a Prince is a swoony, sexy contemporary romance set in the fictional European country of Sova. A secret prince, with a ridiculously close and hilarious family, meets a sunshiny and witty woman looking to find herself after a string of bad luck.
If you like a Hallmark movie but are often left feeling like you were robbed of anything beyond a dry ass kiss, THIS is the book you wanna pick up!
Fairy tale come true for a down on her personal life luck Canadian, in a foreign land with the hottest, sweetest prince you could ever want!
Tate & Harper fall fast but they are so well suited and it was nice that they saw that in one another without the reader having to scream at them. Sure they make us a wait a bit when it comes to them acknowledging it to one another but the wait was more than worth it!
The one liners had me cackling and the steam had me fanning my face and looking around to make sure I wasn’t being watched. (The pets didn’t know, surely.)
Loved the found family vibes and the setting, why isn’t Sova real?
The perfect read for my Princess Diaries, The Prince & Me loving heart!
If you’re Canadian, you will love all the little Canadian jokes and colloquialisms this book has. It’s not often you find a romance with Canadian ties, so I always soak one’s up that have my beloved country in it!
On top of that, this book made me feel all the warm fuzzies in a way that only a good friends to lovers can do. The spice was spicing at the appropriate moments and overall it was a wonderful read.
What kept it from getting a 5 star rating from me was that the language felt a little young— more like what you read in YA which at times threw off the dynamic a bit. It also would’ve been nice to see more Sovan culture. As a reader I didn’t see the royal family at work too much and how that affects their mannerisms. It also felt like some missed opportunities not seeing Harper acclimate and learn what being the girlfriend of European royalty would entail. As a fellow middle class Canadian, even though we have a general idea of what being a working Royal is, the execution would be difficult.
Overall, this was a lovely friends to lovers romance. Very much the Prince and I meets the Princess Diaries in this novel. I loved living in that nostalgia while I read.
A wonderful indie romance that you should check out!
I laughed out loud so much!! This book was the perfect blend of interesting plot, relationship building, banter, and spice!! I am thrilled to have begun this series and I can't wait to dive into the rest!! Highly recommend!!
Loved this book. Felt the ending was a little rushed. Wish there was a second book to continue their story. This is a great family that she could keep writing about!
I loved this so much... and not just because I could relate so much to Harper (minus the prince part), and not just because it was the perfect read to kick off my Europe trip.
This was a genuine feel-good romance that had me giggling and clapping and howling. Incredibly cozy with some great spice mixed in. Easily one of my top reads this summer. I would highly recommend this story!!
This book was so incredibly adorable! Becky Tzag truly delivers on her promise of “spicy Hallmark”—and I’m obsessed. The spice is absolutely there (and so good!), but it’s beautifully spaced out, allowing the cute and cozy plot to shine without being overshadowed.
The friends-to-lovers arc felt fast-paced in the best way—not rushed or corny, just perfectly timed and emotionally satisfying. I loved how the romance developed with plenty of swoony, soft moments that made me grin like a fool.
Yes, the plot had some predictable beats, but in a way that was comforting and still engaging. There were little twists sprinkled throughout that kept things fun!
I’d recommend this for anyone who needs a lighter, spicy read between heavier books. Sweet, steamy, and super satisfying!

Just Friends With a Prince by Becky Tzag is the perfect feel good romcom that will leave you with all the warm fuzzies! Like Hallmark with some spiceeeee. The story follows Harper, whose life gets turned upside down in one morning: jobless, homeless, and heartbroken after catching her boyfriend cheating. Desperate for a change, she heads to Sova to visit her sister. Of course, she naturally finds herself unexpectedly drawn to Tate, a handsome man with a secret. Turns out, he's a PRINCE, but he’s determined to be loved for who he is, not his title!
The chemistry between Tate and Harper is instant, but they start in friends-to-lovers territory. The banter had me laughing out loud, and the steam? Let’s just say it’s spicy... definitely had me fanning my face a few times!
What really shines here is the found-family vibes and the setting. Sova feels like a place you wish was real, and while I would have loved more glimpses into the royal lifestyle and Sovan culture, it doesn’t detract too much from the charm of the book.
But if you’re into sweet, romantic escapism with a dash of spice and a lot of laughs, this is so the book for you. It’s a cute, cozy escape into a fairy-tale romance that feels like a Hallmark movie, but with a lot more heat. 🔥
If you're looking for a sweet and frothy read, then you'll enjoy this one.
After discovering her boyfriend cheating on her at home, Hanna travels to Sova to stay with her sister and brother-in-law. A chance meeting in the forest leads her to Tate, who unbeknownst to her, is part of the royal family.
Tate wants to keep his identity a secret for as long as he can, having been burned before, and Hannah is a breath of fresh air to him. Hanna is a bit of a Pollyana character, always seeing the positive and loving life, and just wanting to enjoy her holiday. There's no denying the growing attraction between them though.
There is so much joy that radiates off the pages that it's clear to see Becky had an absolute ball writing this book. This isn't my usual kind of book to read, but honestly reading this one was like snuggling a puppy the whole time. So much delight on the page, and who am I to deny that?
By the time I reached the end of the book it was like I'd gotten through a marvellous cupcake, complete with possible diabetes because it was all so sweet.

Modern day fairy tale come true hallmark movie vibe. Lots of s3x and bad language.
All in a day..jobless, homeless, single....worse day ever. After being fired from her job she goes home early, only to catch her boyfriend in the act. Yes spicy right from the beginning. What's a girl to do? Pack a bag and head out of town.

This is a can't put it down book. Right off the bat, you're whisked into Harper's life and it is a whirlwind! I love it when I feel as if I could have a cup of something with the characters. And when Harper and Cara are at the cafe, I was right there with them. And Tate? Yes, please! Instant chemistry and the banter was fantastic. And lots of steam!! And I'm on to the next book in the series.
This is cute, VERY spicy, and VERY corny. It truly is a Hallmark movie with smut and tons of swearing! Weirdly this is the last one in the series I've read, and I like all the others a lot more. Not because the writing or anything, I just relate to the characters a bit less here.
The narration however is fantastic, the male narrator reminds me of the narrator for Scarred by Emily McIntire, Paul Woodson. 🔥He can eat crackers in my bed any day.
That’s what that was; princefection. I said it, so it’s a word IYKYK.
Harper had me drawn in from the very beginning, and the second I met Tate, I knew I was done for (in the best of ways).
This book was light and fun and had me smiling and laughing pretty much the whole time. The side characters were just as amazing and it made the whole thing that much more enjoyable.
If you're looking for a great summer read this is it!! Harper is a strong female trying to find her place in life, and Tate is the handsome prince helping her find her way. Sova sounds like the perfect place to live, and I adored Tate's siblings and Harper's relationship with her sister. Can't wait to read the next ones!!!
This was a cute, feel-good story. While it didn't have the normal drama and heartbreak that usually exists in a romance, it was definitely a nice break, and I enjoyed every minute.
Tate is such a sweetheart, and Harper deserves happiness after everything she goes through. I would love a book on Cara and Theo because their love story sounds just as interesting.
What a great read! There is excellent character development - ones to adore and ones to despise, a well thought out storyline with a few twists and turns, some heartbreak, some excellent spice, and an HEA! I ate this story up and look forward to reading the rest of the series!

I love a good spicy Hallmark book! I think I enjoyed this more because of all the Canadian references. So happy there was no third act breakup. If you're looking for a cozy rom com this is perfect.
This was exactly the sort of story I wanted from the title. Hallmark movie meets spice. It sort of gave me Christmas Prince vibes, even though the plots are completely different. Or the Prince and Me or Cinderella! Fairy tales can come true.
I loved this sweet and (very) spicy story. Want to escape to another land? Well, here you go! Want to see what Hallmark would be like if it were part erotica? Again, here you go.
Got to chapter 4. Cute concept but waaaaay too much language. I choose to believe there are actual, smart, intelligent women in the world who can talk without every other word being the f word
Witty and wonderful! I loved the banter between these two. This was the perfect blend of hot and heartwarming and I adored it. Can't wait to start the next in the series!
