The greatness of a spiritual teacher is only partially revealed by the work of his own hands. The rest of the story is one he cannot tell for himself. It is the influence of his consciousness on those who come in contact with him. Here, in some two hundred stories spanning more than forty years, personal reminiscences and private moments with this master teacher become universal life lessons for us all.

This has been a very inspiring book for me. Especially when I was new on the spiritual path, it gave me a sense of what the potential for spiritual development really is. The stories cover many areas of life, in delightful and heartwarming ways. The bite-sized nature (most stories are only a page or two long) make it perfect for use as a devotional, if you like that sort of thing, just reading a story or two each day. Truly wonderful -- one of my favorites.
When I started looking for a book on spirituality, Yogananda’s “Autobiography of a Yogi” was the most recommended book on the subject. Indeed the book was outstanding and left me intrigued about Yogananda and I began looking up more about him on the internet. During this research, I came to know about Swami Kriyananda and stumbled on this book.
This book is a collection of experiences of people with Swami Kriyananda mostly through Ananda. Through the book, the reader gets an insight view into the lives of people living in Ananda. The book is a tribute to one of the greatest disciples of the master. The reader gets an understanding of how the smallest decisions made by Swami Kriyananda always had master's (Yogananda) teaching embed in them.
The book brings out the conflict between SRF and Ananda, and how Swami Kriyananda handled the legal process gracefully while keeping the master’s teachings for peace in his conscious. The book is a great collection of stories but the length of the book could have been a bit shorter. In short, the book gives a glimpse to the reader into the life of the foremost disciple of Yogananda Paramhansa.
