December 5, 2013i am not sure how i feel about this book , a strange mix of absolute fact blended with one of the greatest myths of all time, in action the story was interesting and compelling.
but there were more than a passable amount of "what the hell " moments, why would they so often and so deliberately go back to the source of certain doom, when escape or change of direction was more than possible?
i also found too many irrelevant points, did it make any impact at all to know it was an f15 fighter jet , or that the oft produced hand gun was in fact a glock ? I believe not , and it would seem their excessive description/ naming was actually talking up vital page and word space, that could have been better used to give this book the ending it deserved , rather than the hastily thrown together, ball of loose ends and stray parts that was offered.
It was an interesting read, but I wish it ended differently or indeed appropriately.
If there were to be another part, I would likely only read it with the hope of tying up the ends .

Visą laiką skaitydamas savę verčiau mesti šią knygą kuo toliau. Bet norėjosi pabaigti, vien dėl azarto... Knygoje yra daug nuotykių, banalios meilės, nelogiškų įvykių ir visiškai plokščio scenarijaus...

Ok, the book started out as something new and exciting. Till about the middle...
The love story is annoying, the dialogues are flat, the adventures are too much Indianan Jones'y... Seriously, the person trained for a mission since he was 4 will fall in love in no time with a random girl and sacrifice his life goal? I do not think so.
I am disappointed, as I expected an adventure, the feeling of constant pressure of conflict, interesting plot twists. However, throughout the second part of the book a got the feelings of I-have-seen-it-somewhere and OMG-this-is-annoying.
I give it 2 because the beginning was indeed intriguing and attractive, but Marcus Blake screwed it up with the love story and somehow self-absorbed and over-confident agents.

As soon as Hera was introduced I worried that this was going to be another cheesy flop and in places it was. The writing was inconsistent with the action scenes being very full on and then great descriptions about Marta's family, life and background which I felt were irrelevant and frustrating as I just wanted to read about Atlantis and Achilles. This was a 'nothingy' book really, with good suspense and build up to something but this something never materialised.

Everything in this book is okay., except the romance. Everytime Achilles mentions Marta, It is irritating beyond belief.

Містичний триллер "Атлантида" Маркуса Блейка - чудовий роман про загадки древніх цивілізацій, про обов`язок перед своїм народом і звісно ж... про палке юнацьке кохання Ахілеса та Марти - світле почуття, яке допомагає персонажам подолати смертельну небезпеку, вогняне пекло, морського змія та інші виробування.
Цю книгу варто читати, якщо хочете повірити в казку, відволіктися від щокуючої реальності або ж просто відпочити.
В сюжеті роману помітна присутність містичних сил, вбивства, багато крові, але водночас книга читається легко, швидко, захоплююче. Цікаво, що герої постійно розгадують загадки, щоб наче в комп`ютерній грі, перейти на "новий рівень".
Де шукати загадкову Атлантиду?... Єдине, що вдалося пригадати молодому юнакові після кораблетрощі - своє ім`я - Ахілес, на його долонях незрозумілі татуювання грецькою мовою: Три слова: "Спокута", "Просвітлення", "Судження". Ахілес та його подруга зазнають переслідувань з боку службовців секретного агентства США, юнак поступово відкриває в своєму тілі надлюдські можливості, він розуміє, що не такий, як інші, адже йому судилось виконати місію, та чи зможе він залишитися разом зі своєю коханою?.
В романі "Атлантида" реальність та вигадка зовсім поруч, дійсність та магія дуже тісно пов`язані між собою, саме в цьому "родзинка" тексту, що полонитиме та заворозуватиме увагу читача до останньої сторінки. А щодо читання книжок в оригіналі англійською мовою, то сподіваюсь, що далі буде, поки є можливість та час.

Knygos pradžia buvo visiškas nesusipratimas. Neaiškūs veikėjai, misijos, mistika. Skaičiau per prievartą. Tačiau kngos puslapiams mažėjant, galėjau lengviau atsikvėpti, nes siužetas pamažu ėmė aiškėti. Pradejau pamilti abu pagrindinius veikėjus. Kiekvienas su savita istorija ir savitu charakteriu. Šis kūrinys Jus nustebins galybe įdomių ir adrenaliną keliančių įvykių. Pabaiga suitriguos.
Ko man trūko šiame kūrinyje? Man, kaip romantikos mylėtojai, trūko daugiau meilės scenų. Čia jų buvo, bet labai nedaug ir jos buvo labai blankios.
Padariau išvadą, kad gal kūrinys labiau priliptų vyriškosios lyties atstovams.

Cuando compré el libro pensé que sería muy bueno, pero la verdad decepcionó mis expectativas.
Hay partes en las que específica demasiado, y bueno, si está bien especificar, pero me gusta que dejen volvar un poco mi imaginación.
También incluyó partes que (creo yo) son irrelevantes en la historia.
Lo único que me dejó satisfecha fue el final, creo que fue bueno, pero me hubiese gustado que todo el libro fuera bueno.

Jaučiausi tarsi žiūrėdama įtempto veiksmo filmą. Neatsitraukiau visą dieną, Achilo ir Martos nuotykiai užgniaužė kvapą ir vertė pamiršti visus kasdienius darbus ar maistą. Tikrai patiktų visiems, kas mėgsta veiksmo/nuotykių knygas.

Un libro bastante interesante, te atrapa desde que comienzas a leerlo, el escritor tiene una manera bastante peculiar de narrar los sucesos ya que pareciera que ni el mismo supiera que harian o que pensarían sus personajes, eso sin duda fue diferente, me gusto la historia sin encargo encargo huviera gustado mucho una segunda parte, ya que me quedé bastante picada con ese final. Los protagonistas son bastante agradables es fácil empatisar con ellos.

If I could give this a -92387102308 rating I would. No one deserves to get "tricked" into buying this book, specially if it's full priced from a bookstore! I hated this with all my heart. Like it was ehhh ok at the first what 50-100 pages? but then it just kept dragging and the end it was like really repetitive and the characters were acting "stupidly" and there was like nothing at all!!! I mean this book had potential but NO. Just don't pick it up! I even just read like the first, middle and last line of each page of the last 100 pages and there was nothing, NOTHING to make me want to read this. Just don't.

La lectura se me hizo algo pesada, fue tanto de lo que tuvieron que escapar qué me fastidió y aburrió un poco, yo quería saber más de Atlantis, los personajes se me hicieron muy planos, no los llegue a conocer. Las pruebas fueron tan cortas qué me quedé con ganas de más. Espero que la segunda parte de verdad mejore. Aunque no es un mal libro, solo que a mí no me encantó.

Achilles and his brother are from Atlantis. Achilles' ship is destroyed by a torpedo when they are sent out on a secret mission to save Atlantis. He is found by Marta with no memory and no clue as to who he is.

A good story with a great idea but the ending really let it down, I feel like there was so much more depth that could have gone into both plot and character.

"Атлантида: Откровението" (издателство Бард, 2015) е приятен напълно детски роман, който също попада в моята тайна категория "губевремки".
Не знаех, че в поредицата "Кралете на трилъра" могат да се открият книги с явна тийн насоченост, които са съчетание от фантастика и трилър, ама трилър от типа на нещата, които показват във всеки стандартен екшън филм.
Мисля, че авторът по-скоро се е старал да напише нещо от типа на популярните "Пърси Джаксън" и прочее подобни. Нещо с повече магия, митове и много малко реалистичност.
Магия, романс по детски, непобедими добри супергерои, малко смотани "лоши"... и туйто.
Предполагам, че авторът е бил впечатлен и от детския филм на Дисни за Атлантида. Същата работа с кристалите и предците, ама едва ли не едно към едно.
Краят е дразнещ, но като изключим това... препоръчвам за плажа...
