Hmmm... Well, it was different than the every day run of the mill romance book. First of all, if you are particular about who gets to be inside your heroine, this is probably not for you. If you are really offended by a couple of MM scenes then this is probably not for you. If you are offended by weak characterizations and a shaky plot, then this is probably not for you.
However, if you are in the mood for a sexy quick read with light romance and light mystery, then this is right up your alley.
Frankie has been dating the same guy for five years. She is reasonably happy. Sure he's screwed around a couple of times but she is reasonably sure he's moved beyond that. So when he comes home one night and screws her silly and then breaks up with her, she is a bit put out. Not enough to try to actually be mad at the ass or his new GF of course. But angry none the less. You know the best way to get over having your heart broken? Screw a bunch of other people. Strangers? check. Unprotected sex? check. Bondage? check. Threesome? check. You'd think with all of this extra sex there wouldn't be time for a couple of masturbation scenes. You'd be wrong.
While the focus may have been placed squarely on the sex, the sex was pretty good. I was just surprised by the label on the spine of romance and not erotica.
However, if you are in the mood for a sexy quick read with light romance and light mystery, then this is right up your alley.

This is a romance/erotica novel with a murder mystery involving a female diner owner (Frankie) as the heroine. At the very beginning of the story, her model boyfriend of five years dumps Frankie, leaving her for another woman. She's humiliated and goes on the rebound with several men. Then the best friend of the other woman ends up dead behind Frankie's diner. This puts the chief of police, who has long pined for Frankie, in a difficult position. In the end, Frankie, at least, has a happily ever after, though a couple hearts are broken along the way and one more person dies.
This is a very steamy novel, but there was something about the attitudes of the characters that didn't appeal to me - like there were too many goody-two-shoes comments written into their dialog. Everyone was too understanding and forgiving to be believeable. With the kind of heartbreak and betrayal some of these characters went through, there should have been screaming matches and slashed tires, not "he's just being who he is - I forgive him - she's better for him anyway." If the emotional reactions had felt more real, I would have rated this book higher.

I found this one in a box of books and after reading the back realized I had read it a few years back. It is erotic romance with a little more story than erotic romance generally has. There is a central mystery that is no mystery at all, and there is a central character having a lot of interesting sexual encounters. These are the people in her neighborhood, and there are more than a few Mr. McFeeley's, if you read me. It is dated, it is clunky, but it is also fun and sexy and is pretty much what you want when you delve into this sort of things. I will say, this is one weird town, and clearly someone is putting something in the water supply.

I read a little more than half of this book before getting bored and putting it down. The plot, what there was of it, consists of a woman who owns a diner called "All U Can Eat" (did Prince name this?) who is jilted by her lover and proceeds to soothe her ego by sleeping with a whole bunch of men. After one romp she finds a dead body in the alleyway near her diner. The chief of police arrives and, wouldn't you know it, he's always had a crush on the sexy diner owner but stomps down his lust when she turns out to be one of the suspects. Who killed this strange woman and why should I care? I'll never know because I'm not going to finish it. I found it lacking, repetitive, forgettable and tamed down when compared to Strange Attractions. There's just no pleasing me, I guess.

HAWT!! Smut, check. Great characters, check. Tortured hero, check. Likable leading lady, check. Hunky side characters, yup. Psycho killers, you betcha!!
Emma Holly included all my favorite ingredients!! This was a pretty fast paced, totally sexy book. Yeah, some of the sex was gratuitous but it's so innovative and well written that I found ways to justify it... please who am I kidding, I don't need to justify it. I loved it. The suspense part was good too, I love a guy in uniform. Overall I forgot reality for a few hours and was totally taken over by this one... 5 stars and I'm off to check out her other books!!

I like steamy scenes, but this is ridiculous.
This is supposed to be an erotic romance/thriller but it’s kind of hard to imagine the romance when by the middle of the book the heroine has slept with everyone EXCEPT the hero and the hero has a hard on for everyone with curves. How can you be invested in their romance when they seem to be interested in everyone?!
The thriller part was such an afterthought there was no tension at all. I skipped ahead to find out who the killer was and it was meh. The reveal was also meh.
All in all not Emma Holly’s best. It might take me some time to pick up more of her works knowing she writes about sex too much. Sex in books should work towards the plot and not distract from it, which was the case in this book.

Frankie Smith owner of the All U Can Eat diner is dumped by her boyfriend. He has moved on to Karen Ellis who is pregnant. A week later Frankie gets it on with a young cook she has hired (to get the old boyfriend out of her system). However, that same night a woman is murdered in the alley behind her diner and Frankie is the number one suspect. The Police Chief Jack West also has the hots for Frankie and despite the situation they get it on as well. Although it had an interesting murder set up, they fact that nobody could keep their pants on got pretty annoying.

I think most heroines that sleep around are slutty but for some reason Frankie just came off as fun loving. This was an okay book if you're not looking for anything of substance. I loved the male/male going ons. Total turn on. Eh okay read. I've read worse.

Trash. Disappointing trash. Was hoping for a sexy mystery, and got bad soft porn. Found it right up in the front of the store at a B&N too--what, is this stuff not selling? Wonder why?

This book was a wild ride that I thoroughly enjoyed. We follow our FMC Frankie and her sexual escapades after getting dumped by her dim-witted, underwear model boyfriend Troy. Himbo and too stupid to live doesn't even start to describe him, more like dumbest character in literature.
After a body is discovered outside her diner, the story follows Frankie, the MMC Police Chief Jack, and a cast of revolving supporting characters to uncover the murder. I did dislike how it seems the author ran out of things besides sex for Frankie to do, as she took a back seat in the later half of the book.
The plot is pretty convoluted at times, but it's incredibly fun. The spicy scenes were incredible, I'd categorize this book more as porn with a touch of mystery. It's a light-hearted and easy read.

This book is very light on both mystery and romance. While there is a murder mystery, it is buried underneath all the smut, which occupies almost half of the book. If you're in the mood for smut, this book will certainly satisfy that itch. However, if you are looking for something deeper, you might want to pass on this one.
One surprising element is the FMC, Frankie, who starts sleeping around after being dumped by her boyfriend of five years. If you dislike the FMC engaging in sex with multiple partners, this book isn't for you. Additionally, I found it difficult to care about any of the characters, which is another downside.
Despite these issues, the writing is good enough to have kept me reading until the end. For that reason, I give it 3 stars.

This book is a real page turner! I was drawn into the story from the beginning, and the sex scenes were awesome!

I'm so glad that I finally read this. I tried to read it years ago but it didn't work for me then. I think I got caught up in wanting the these people are destined to be together and therefore can't be with other people aspect of romance novels. This novel wasn't that, but I like that Frankie owns her sexuality. Sex is sex and it doesn't have to be entangled with forever love. She can enjoy sex and care for her partner without being in love and that idea is kind of powerful.
I have to admit that I really disliked her model boyfriend. He needed to get a spine and a personality. I kept wondering why Frankie was with him. They didn't make him seem appealing outside of the physical .
Jack was a funny character. He's shy and a former big city cop. He's had the hots for Frankie for a while but he's respected her relationship status. He also doesn't think she's interested in him. I got the impression that he thought he was too old for her. Them coming together was fun. He has to deal with some of his own issues around Frankie's sexuality but he does and they actually talk about their issues.
Oh and to make it even better, there's a murder mystery in the midst of this romance and I didn't immediately guess who did it. Good times all around.

Frankie tient un restaurant dans une petite ville côtière. Elle a tout pour être heureuse avec son petite ami Troy, ancien mannequin reconverti en agent immobilier. Jusqu'à ce qu'il la quitte sans prévenir. Triste, elle découvre bientôt qu'il est fiancé et qu'il va devenir père. Elle pensait que le pire qui pouvait lui arriver serait de se trouver devant son ex et sa nouvelles copine, elle avait tort. Bientôt, elle découvre un corps devant son restaurant.
Si l'intrigue générale est bien ficelée et crédible, les personnages ne le sont pas. Le problème c'est que relire ce livre après avoir lu toutes les romances érotiques plus récentes laissent voir touts ses défauts : une héroïne qui saute sur presque tout ce qui bouge, un héros, commissaire de police, pas très professionnel (tout comme certain de ses collègues)et des tentatives de BDSM plutôt légère voir clichés. Malgré tout, l'histoire se lit bien, les scènes sensuelles sont bien écrites, la plume de l'auteur agréable et le format court ne nous permet pas de rentrer plus en détail et de relever encore plus de choses.
Au final, un bon moment de lecture qui nous permet de passer quelques heures sans prise de tête.

I would imagine that when tourists roll into the town of Six Palms, they immediately smell salt, sand and sex. 'Cause it appears that everyone in the town is having lots of it with just about everyone. Over the course of this less-than-300-page-book, Frankie has sex with five different guys, including one she met only 10 hours before, an on-duty cop, and both of the towns' mechanics. At the same time. On top of that, it's uncovered through the course of a murder investigation (oh wait - there was a murder? Right! That's supposed to be the main story here. It sorta got lost among all the wild monkey sex.) that practically everyone who's anyone (including the mayor's wife, the top real estate saleswoman, and the rich charity worker) is having sex videos made of them.
With everything going on in Whoresville, a.k.a. Six Palms, I kinda had a hard time controlling my eye-rolling impulse. I think it's hard to write a good ER story and not have it read like cheesy porn on a page. Some have been successful (hello - Fifty Shades, anyone?); many have not. I think a lot of the secret is controlling the language and making the encounters sexy and not slutty - something that's possible as long as there aren't kittens and roosters weeping and sheathing all over the place.
With everything going on in Whoresville, a.k.a. Six Palms, I kinda had a hard time controlling my eye-rolling impulse. More thesis reading!
So, this one is full on erotica (with some plot attached). It was on the reader's polls I used, but I'd be curious to look further and see what part of the romance industry it came out of. It didn't seem like it would be something coming out of the general industry, even with the current erotic romance craze. It just didn't read much like an erotic romance to me.
But! The female protagonist is very aware of and comfortable with her wants and desires. She's not limited to sex only when love is present and the character isn't punished in some way for having sex outside of monogamous relationships. (Having said that, a closer look might reveal some repercussions for these activities.) There are also scenes with other characters (including some gay sex), so it's certainly a diverse set of sex acts. Finally, the story ends in some level of monogamy and emotional attachment, but it felt fairly loose. Marriage and babies didn't seem like they were about to attack.
It would be nice though, if there was something in between that still allowed for a happy ending without marriage and babies.

All You Can Eat is my first Emma Holly novel - and I'm hooked! Right from the very beginning, this book grips you and doesn't let go, not even when you've finished it.

Wow, this is one seriously hot book. My opinion has definitely been influenced by the fact the book contains not one, but two sexy men in uniform. Add some smokin' hot sex scenes, an interesting and intriguing plot and you have a real page turner. This is one erotic romance I'll definitely be reading again.

If you want erotica with great characterisation and even some romance thrown in, and you want it guiltfree and enjoyable for the female heroine who owns her sexuality and isn't repressed, you could do worse than read this book.
Holly can do the angysty situation with the best of them but this is an enjoyable romp bar the murder mystery - but since we don't know the victim or the murderer all that well the main interest is in the heroine who just got served notice by her long-time, pretty and nice, but never very reliable boyfriend of five years.
How she gets over it, with whom she gets over it and that she even finds her perfect fit is the story. I love the fact that minor characters like just-back-from-Irak soldier Michael and Jeannie Lin the Asian American waitress/mother-figure are so well portrayed they have their own life.
I could have done without Pete and Dave, though, although the sex was admittedly hot ^^.

5 stars ...because I had a blast reading this ER combined with a bit of suspense.
The storyline was quite simple, Frankie owned a diner in a small town, Six Palms, CA. Before she can heal her broken-heart from her 4yr lived-in underwear model boyfriend, she had a murdered body in her alley. When one door closed, many many many other opened, and for Frankie, the town sweetheart, the possibilities were all so yummy. It was definitely a case where 'u snooze, u loose', but will Jack, the town's Chief of Police, keep police business separated from personal when, especially when he only fantasized Frankie everytime he closed his eyes for months and now available and a suspect.
The suspense had me turning the pages but it plenty of hotness combined with possibility of romancing Jack...was all worth staying up til early morning.
Be warned my Southern Bells, this read contains hot-sweet-romance and erotic romance with scenes of BB, menage GBB, BGB.

This got me hot, very hot. And that's how I like my erotica! I liked Frankie and the supporting characters alot. Some have said that the suspense plot was thin but I enjoyed it. Towards the middle I figured out who the killer was but it was still a good read.
I enjoyed this novel more than Cooking Up A Storm. I understood Frankie's motivations more than Abby's in CUAS. It was nice to see how the relationship between Frankie and Jack developed.
My only negative was this: I found it hard to believe that Jack would have unsafe sex with Frankie an hour or so (was it even that long?) after he found her having sex with Dave and Peter (who have sex with each other) and knowing that she slept with Mike on the first day she met him. Who does that?????

ok, so the story content just didn't do it for me.
Here you have a girl who manages to be in a relationship (which I assume she was faithful in because we were not given a reason to believe otherwise) for 5 years but when it's over she hops from bed to bed indiscriminately from practically day 1 after break - up....I felt like sex was put in the story just for the sake of putting sex in. Quite honestly, I think it would have been a GREAT book had she just concentrated on Jack and Frankie. They were, after all, supposedly our happy ending, but yet they got like 20 pages at the end. Makes no sense to me. But what do I know, I'm not a writer. LOL

This book was definitely not what I expected, but that is my own fault as I have been reading a lot of mystery series with a similar premise as All U Can Eat, and you really can't compare the two. It's well written an undeniably hot I just wish there was a smidgen more plot, it almost feels like the murder that occurs is only a set up for the female lead to sleep with all the male suspects.
If I wanted porn with a pretense of having a plot line I can think of several places on the internet where I can read that for free.

The sex was kind of hot. The rest of the story was kind of dull. That is the way a lot of these books run, so it wasn't much of a surprise. It gets three stars because the hot/dull ratio wasn't so large. They actually ran about even.
Would I rec this book to anyone? Maybe. It depends on the person and what they're looking for. If they're looking for mindless entertainment that doesn't suck, then sure, I would throw this out as a rec. With qualifications.

Emma Holly has crafted a likable story of sex, sex and more sex. There's a back story of a murder taking place behind the All U can Eat diner, that's really not as suspenseful as it could have been. I love an erotic story, but the sex got in the way of this tale. While I adored our hero, Jack, the chief of police. I really wasn't feeling the heroine. She was just a bit too slutty. Still it's an enjoyable read and Ms. Holly blends humor and eroticism quite effectively. 3 stars

I started this book but could really get in to it but I needed to carry on reading to see who murdered the woman in it but it was good and it sort of has a story line it's about this woman called frankie who owns a diner and it's called all you can eat and there is a murder outside her diner at first they think it's her but the police don't think it is this book gets very racy at times but I would say read it and make up your own mind

This sample was decent. Some chick has some hot sex with her boyfriend of five years who then dumps her for some weird ass reason. He is a serial cheater but she is a bit cross about being dumped but being a Black Lace publication I knew there'd be a whole lot of make up action. I just wasn't really in the mood for it.

This story is labeled "romantic erotica", which it definitely is! The sex scenes are WAY graphic, and I learned a new trick, even. Amidst all the steamy sex and raunchy hook-ups, there is a plot. I think some of the things were neatly skimmed over and wrapped up in a bow (cheating, unplanned pregnancy, etc) but after all, this book isn't in the historical reference section, is it??
