Desperately Seeking Excitement...

With a temporary prohibition on magic on the land of the Fae, Claire Thorne might as well go back to the Regency world. The haut ton has just as many annoying rules as her world, but at least they have parties and dances. Plus, the roguish Lord Phineas "Finn" Trimble is there...

When the feisty faerie tumbles into his room through a magical portal, Finn can't believe how completely unpredictable she is. Even before the two stumble into a dangerous intrigue that threatens both their worlds, Finn discovers that his hitherto carefree life is about to go up in smoke...

Tammy Falkner lives on a farm in a lovely, sprawling little town in rural NC with her beekeeper husband and a house full of boys, a few dogs, and a cat or two (or five – who has time to count?). As half of the Lydia Dare team, she has co-written ten books, including the Westfield Wolves series and the Gentlemen Vampyre series. A huge fan of Regency England, she often wonders what other kinds of magical, mythical and strange creatures might live and interact within the ton. Exploring the theory that the fae can walk between Regency England and their own land, Tammy spends as much time as possible with the lords and ladies of society, horse-drawn carriages, and elegant balls. Now add to that some faeries, a little murder, a bit of mayhem, and a troublesome garden gnome, and you have her exciting new series. She hopes you enjoys her world as much as she does.

I don't know how many of you know of my thoughts on faeries. Well, if you don't, I still think they are mischievous bunch and I don't think my opinion is going to change anytime soon. In the meantime, I have finished next installment of Tammy Falkner's Faerie books which happens to be The Magic of "I Do".

In this story we get know Claire Thorne a little better. When you first meet Claire in A Lady and Her Magic you actually get the impression that she's not really an impulsive type. Let me just say, that would be a misconception. Actually she is quite impulsive at times and usually at the wrong time. Hence, the reason she ends up with Lord Phineas Tremble (Finn). Finn is your typical second son. However, when he's with Claire it seems like magic between them.

Oh dear, mischief between these two abound in abundance. I mean second sons are always finding themselves in a bit of a jam here and there and faeries tend to have trouble follow them. So, Claire and Finn find themselves in precarious situations in the book. However, they seem to manage when they work together.

Overall, I found The Magic of "I Do" charming and enchanting like A Lady and Her Magic. I do adore Claire, but I'm not going to lie she's a bit standoffish in beginning. I think a lot of it has to do with her need to follow the Unpardonable Errors. However, she slowly melts away that icy exterior and I really start to like her. Finn, well, I have a soft spot for second sons, but he's actually not really that bad of a rake once you get to know him. He's actually kind of endearing. So, if you are looking for a little magic, I would suggest checking out The Magic of "I Do". Who knows you might find yourself in of a little magic.

Absolutely enchanting, do not miss this one! Taken from my review at RomanceJunkies.com:

Sisters Claire and Sophie are faeries who have been raised without parents. Their fae mother and mortal father, the Duke and Duchess of Ramsdale, lost their children when the babies were taken back to the land of the fae to be raised by the children’s grandparents. All memory of the children had been erased from the duke and duchess while the children had been left to believe they had no parents. In the fae world, this is the punishment for the Unpardonable Error of a fae falling in love with a non-fae. Not wanting this to happen to any children she might have, Claire is determined not to fall in love with a non-fae. At twenty-seven now, she has no need of parents, but nonetheless hers are visiting the fae world, where they do not belong. She is having trouble forgiving them, especially since, of the three children they actually raised one, Rose, is fae and they had found a way to keep her.

Claire Thorpe’s reward for trying to save her sister from the Duke of Robinsworth was the loss of her magic. But she was determined that as long as there were non-fae in the land of the fae, she would not use her magic. Her sister, Sophie, had recently brought her new husband, the Duke of Robinsworth, as well as his young daughter, both of whom were human, to the land of the faeries. Additionally, she had allowed their long lost parents back in, so they could meet the daughters they had no memory of. Until these intruders leave the land of the fae, Claire refuses to use any magic or go on any missions.

Phineas ‘Finn’ Trimble abducted the faerie at the behest of his brother, the Duke of Robinsworth, while the duke and Sophie took care of some pressing problems in the land of the fae. He never counted on how hard it would be to watch over one faerie or that he was about to lose his heart to her. Having a penchant for solving mysteries, Finn even has an army of thief-takers and spies to do his will. But he has never met anyone like Claire. He and his mistress broke up weeks ago, but he doesn’t even think of finding another one. After all, Claire is the only one who interests him.
Determined to retrieve her fairy dust from her captor, Claire figured if she could only get him drunk enough to let down his guard, she could slip away. Curious about his drink, she took a sip, which seemed to kill her taste buds, rendering her food tasteless, so she decides if she can’t eat, she might as well have another drink. Unfortunately, she does not count on how strong the drink is and before long, she finds herself in bed with Finn. Perhaps sharing a bed so that she cannot escape him had been a bad idea after all. But the seductiveness of the inebriated, troublesome faerie overcome Finn’s better sense. She had lies when she says she is no longer an innocent, but unfortunately, Finn does not known that until the deed is done. When he awakens, she and her vial of faerie dust are gone.

With the sudden death of her grandfather, Claire is summoned back to the land of the fae. But it soon becomes evident that their night of passion had its cost; she is pregnant. When a door suddenly appears in her room, Claire’s innate curiosity forces her to go through it, landing her in a bedroom facing Finn. When events later force an engagement between Claire and Finn, he is thrilled, although he knows nothing of the child she carries. However, there is one who wants to bring down the Duke of Robinsworth and all he possesses. Unfortunately, this extends to Finn and particularly, the one he prizes most…Claire. Can Finn keep her safe, or is he about to lose the one woman he would give his life for?

Enchantingly delicious, the second book in award winning author Tammy Falkner’s magical series, THE MAGIC OF I DO is a witty, sensual paranormal romance that I absolutely loved. The whimsical faerie Clare will have you laughing out loud, at times, at some of her antics and I enjoyed the clever banter between her and Finn immensely. With the chemistry sparking between them, their love for each other is tangible. As a fan of Ms. Falkner ever since I read her novels co-written under the name Lydia Dare, I cannot get enough of reading her books.

A feisty faerie, a hunky lord, witty repartee, magical mayhem, suspense, danger, family dynamics, tender romance and a love to span worlds all combine in this wonderfully wicked union of the paranormal and Regency worlds. I hated to see this story end, but at least I can look forward to the next book in this series, THE MAGIC BETWEEN US, due out in January, 2014. In the meantime, be sure to pick up a copy of THE MAGIC OF I DO. While you are at it, you may want to also check out the first book of the series, A LADY AND HER MAGIC, which is Sophie’s story.

The Magic of “I Do” continues Tammy Falkner’s fantasy historical series that began with A Lady and Her Magic, featuring Claire Thorne, sister to the first book’s heroine, and Phineas Trimble, brother to the first book’s hero. My feelings for this book are somewhat ambivalent, so there will be some spoilers in this review.

Following Robin and Sophia (hero and heroine of the first book)’s marriage in the land of the Fae and their stay of an indefinite duration, Phineas “Finn” has been charged with keeping an eye on Claire, in case her impetuous nature lands her in trouble, which it did. Naturally, Finn is unhappy about this, and during his confinement of Claire (by taking away her magic dust), he becomes just as impetuous as Claire, and heedlessly takes her virtue. Some months later, they meet again as Claire fell through a portal into Finn’s bedroom, but this time, she is here to stay.

My rating of this book is not because it is badly written, but rather because I do not find it well written. The characters – Finn, at least, is created to fit an expected mold of a jaded and bored aristocrat who should develop genuine feelings and heroic qualities by the end of the book. Except he doesn’t, at least not really. Finn, without even liking Claire (he found her too annoying to his taste), had sated his lust with her in the beginning, experiencing barely a grain of remorse afterwards. Just as quickly, he forgets about her and their encounter, the fact that he held captive an innocent and ruined her, and resumed his normal carefree life until the next time they meet, when he could barely recognize her. His “reform” is rather pitiful, as his great revelation that he cannot live his life without Claire is offset by his often mistaking lust for love; that is, one could not pinpoint a believable time when he truly fell in love with her and decided to end his raking ways. Claire is a better character than Finn, in my opinion, as her impetuousness creates ingenuity of spirit that brings a lot of mischief and mayhem into the story, making the story more engaging and humorous. Claire is both sweet and wild, whose first meeting with Finn came as a result of wanting to save her sister from Robin, but she also hides a sensitive side as she deals with getting to know her new relations after being raised by her faerie grandfather.

Overall, The Magic of “I Do” is a fun read with funny dialogue and intriguing conversation; however, character-wise I find it comparatively subpar with the previous book and by itself as a romance novel. Despite that, I believe many readers will enjoy the light banter between Claire and Finn and come to like their impetuous love, though I am disappointed to say that I did not.

THE MAGIC OF I DO is a lively paranormal historical romance that felt light and airy, not unlike the breezes that transport the faeries between the real world and the faerie wold. I got caught up in the whirlwind, comforted by the fact that THE MAGIC OF I DO doesn’t break any romance novel molds, and I was able to enjoy the faeries, the relationship, and the cute funny moments as a result.

Claire is one of the most stubborn romance novel heroines I have ever encountered. She is angry and frustrated about the situation she’s put in, and that ends up translating into an inability to acknowledge her feelings for Finn until long after he tells her how he feels about her. Finn is our typical romance hero, the type who sleeps with so many ladies, then encounters “the one” and isn’t satisfied with anybody else afterwards. A little predictable, but still fun. It’s always amusing to follow these heroes as they confront feelings they have never felt for a woman before. Especially because in this case, it wasn’t the man holding out – Finn caved pretty easily – it was the woman. In the beginning of the book, for example, Claire would repeatedly say that she didn’t love Finn, to his face!

Overall, THE MAGIC OF I DO wasn’t as good as I’d hoped it would be. Since I’ve read some of Falkner’s work as part of the Lydia Dare combo as well as having read the first Faerie book, A LADY AND HER MAGIC, and really liked what I’ve read so far, I was hoping for a bit better. It felt like THE MAGIC OF I DO was put together hurriedly and while it mostly works together, it is a bit of a smorgasboard of plotlines. This doesn’t mean that it was a bad book, but it isn’t as good as some of Falkner’s other writing.

Since the beginning of THE MAGIC OF I DO overlaps a bit with the first Faerie book, A LADY AND HER MAGIC, those readers who have read the latter will be happy to learn that Sophia and Ashley do appear in this book. We’ve also got the always charming Ronald the garden gnome, and Claire and Sophia’s parents to liven things up as well. Add in a dash of faerie dust, and you’ve got a nice cast of characters and enough magic to breeze through the book with!

Brilliant! I absolutely adored The Magic of "I Do." It was a lovely romance mixed with faerie fantasy-a perfect combination.

I love books that are combinations of historical and paranormal romance. So I had high expectations for this book. And it went above and beyond what I hoped for. It was wonderful!

Claire was a great heroine. She was very strong and refused to let anyone rule her. My one issue with her was that she was very set in her ways-very black and white about things. It frustrated me a few times. But, it wasn't a huge problem. I still really liked her. Once she got over her issues, she was brilliant. Strong, clever, and willing to sacrifice anything to help those she loved. I really liked her character.

Finn was amazing. He was perfection and I adored him from page one. He was so sweet and strong and determined to do anything to protect his loved ones. And it didn't hurt that he was so attractive. He was the perfect hero and I could go on and on about how amazing he was, but I'll move on before I bore you.

I loved the romance between Claire and Finn. They were a lovely couple. I thought it was so sweet that Finn knew from the beginning that he loved Claire and stayed true to her immediately after they met. They were so sweet together. And, there was some serious spice with them right from their first meeting. And we get a healthy dose of it throughout the book.

I liked how the magical components of the book were woven in. The faerie world was seamlessly added to the Victorian world and it added a lovely touch of magic.

The plot was fast paced and I was hooked right away. I was riveted throughout the entire book. And the ending was so lovely. A sweet, romantic ending that left me smiling.

The Magic of "I Do" was a brilliant romance. All romance lovers should definitely give it a read.

I started reading and then I realized that this book is actually the second of a series. The first chapter I was a little bit lost but after that it wasn’t a problem at all! This is such a fast paced, cute romance that is a perfect mixture of the paranormal (fairies) and historical genres.

Lord Phineas (Finn) has been put in charge of taking care of Claire Thorne while his brother and her sister are away visiting the land of fea. Claire is upset about finding out her parents and her sister marrying a human. Now she finds herself in the company of a handsome human who she cannot have feelings for because she is a faerie. Unfortunately it doesn’t matter how much you remind yourself or him not to fall in love…

I did love the pace of this plot and the character had some really lines that made me smile. Unfortunately I do believe this is not a stand alone novel and to really enjoy it please read the first book.

After I found out who the author was, I was not surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this. Ms. Falker is one half of the writing team known as Lydia Dare and they write some of the best historical/paranormal romances out there today. I am happy to say I now own the first book in this series and I can’t wait to read it and the next book that is coming out next year.

I wont bore you with another recap of the book but I will tell you that even if this is the second in a series it is a great stand alone book.
The play between the characters is charming and delightful to read.. I couldn't put it down once I started and read it in one day.
You wont be disappointed in this paranormal romance. I cant wait to find the first in the series and then the next should prove to be just as good.

Once the human named Finn was her enemy. Basically, imprisoning her after she accidently traveled through the gateway and into his residence, Finn took her faerie dust and without it, she couldn’t return home. One night, she seduces Finn in a way of distracting him so she can take back her dust and return to the land of the fae. However, this action would have consequences – both good and bad.

It’s a few months later and when Claire finds out she’s pregnant, she knows faerie law will not allow her and her human child to remain in the land, so Claire flees and hopes to come up with a suitable plan. The only place she can think of going back to is the child’s father.

Finn has dreamt of the fae woman whom he shared one night of passion with before she fled. As the sister-in-law to his brother, Finn knows he treads of shaky ground becoming involved with her but love has enraptured his heart. When he finds out she’s pregnant, they wed. But Finn has enemies and he fears Claire will become a target.

I will keep this short and sweet. Boring. Boring. Boring. This book had no substance. It was an empty story with equally empty characters none of which made the 300-some-odd pages worthwhile. It was so rushed that it was laughable. No explanation on why Clarie was Finn’s prisoner really. Then all of a sudden, they are fucking and shortly thereafter, they fall madly in love. It was set in the 1800’s but little about the setting or language fit the time period which is a bit pet peeve for me.

Overall, I felt the lust between this couple more than a deep, love at first glance, forever kind of love, folks. Heck, they both seem to resent even that attraction between themselves for some time. With his well earned manho history and the heroine insisting on helping his former mistress when she found herself in trouble, I just didn't enjoy this book as much as the first. It didn't have the sweet genuine connection the main couple in the first book had. Likely because I felt this couple kept having smex but didn't know each other all that well.

I loved this book couldn't put it down. The Duke of Robinsworth asked his brother Lord Phineas (Finn) to look after Clair Thorn his sister- in- law while he and his wife Sophie visit the land of fae. After spending so much time together Finn and Claire start developing deep feelings for each other. When Clair's life is in danger Finn will do anything to keep her safe especially now that she is carrying something precious.

I love finding historical romances with paranormal aspects, it's my favourite combination! So naturally, I was drawn to the blurb for this book... faeries and a human Lord, perfect! Luckily it did turn out to be a great combination in The Magic of 'I Do'.

Claire Thorne is left in the human realm with her sister's brother-in-law, Lord Phineas Tremble, when her sister goes to the faerie realm with her new husband. They have a rather passionate encounter (to say the least) before Claire returns to the faerie realm, whilst Finn is sleeping.
Claire has some issues with her parents, and is desperate to escape them for a while, and she uses a portal in a painting to leave the faerie realm...and stumbles straight into Finn's bed chamber. Sparks instantly flare between them again.
When Finn's ex-mistress comes to him for help, Finn sets to work trying to catch a killer. Claire is a mission faerie and is determined to help Finn catch him, and this leads to plenty of mayhem and intrigue.

Claire was a really fun character, she's stubborn and determined but she's also very loyal to those she loves. She has issues with her parents after they were forced to forget about their magical fae children, including her. This colours her perspective on love, marriage and having children with humans, which in turn means it takes her a while before she can fully let herself love Finn and be with him.

Finn has all the neccessary qualities for a rake, charming and handsome. Not widely known is that he also does some detective work, which added another layer to his character. He's very sweet and protective with Claire.

The chemistry between Claire and Finn was sizzling, and they had some steamy love scenes together! The love between them builds up more gradually, and they have plenty of obstacles and issues to work through before they get their deserved HEA.
The intrigue involving the killer definitely helped to keep the book's pace and hooked my interest as well. I thought the faerie elements were woven through the book very well and it all seemed to blend with the historical setting perfectly.
This is the second book in the Faerie series, the first being the story of Sophia (Claire's sister) and Robin (Finn's brother), but you're never lost and the back story was worked in throughout the book.

Overall, this is a fun and sweet romance, with a hint of danger to keep the reader intrigued. Definitely recommended!

When I picked up this one, I had no idea that it was part the series. I have done this before with books and typically run into issues. You are either completely lost or feel like the author is just regurgitating half of the previous book to explain enough back story for this one to make sense. I found this one to have none of those problems. The back story was so seamlessly written that I didn’t feel like it was a back story. This book easily works as a stand-alone novel, though now I need to go read the first one as I’m curious on the whole story!

I was surprised by how much I like this book. To me it is one of those that the title is a tad hokey, the cover is plain, and the blurb was kinda meh. I chose it strictly because it had a fairy in it and I was in the mood for a little paranormal that didn’t contain vampires, werewolves, or witches.

What, sometimes my criteria for picking a book is pretty, well… petty. I will totally turn down a book based on a bad cover or mediocre blurb. Something must draw me in, and that day it was Fairies.

So in this one, we get to follow Claire, sister to Sophia the heroine of the first book, and Finn, brother to Sophia’s new husband Robin. What can we say, if you can’t keep it in your pants at least keep it in the family?

Finn is tasked with keeping Claire safe while her sister and Robin (the brother) are still in the land of Fae. Claire feels this is BS and that she doesn’t need a keeper, but times dictate that she have one so Finn is it. They start out hating each other and move towards love as the book progresses. Following the typical romance novel formula: hate, lust, sex, *big fat spoiler that I can’t talk about*, love.

In between that, unfolds the rest of the story. Now this isn’t your typical period romance. Both Claire and Finn are detectives in their own rights, so you get a great detective story within the romance. There are disappearances, murders, mystery, some underhanded dealings and some really steamy scenes. The combination works and makes the book a really fast read. I so love a book with no slow parts.

Speaking of sex, this one has some super steamy scenes in it. I have always felt that some people write sex and others write steam. Falkner definitely falls into the steam category and this one has some scenes that make you want to get a fan they are so steamy. I particularly enjoyed one with Claire and Finn on a balcony. This book is worth reading just for that one scene!

Trying to find a new paranormal take on things that doesn’t contain your normal vampires or werewolves tends to be a bit of a challenge at times. I enjoy werewolves and vampires but once in a while I want to tread past the norm and find something different. Regency romance meets faerie magic. Paranormal with a new yet lighter twist; whimsical and fun.

Snowstorms…Sparks…Lost Innocence…Pregnancy…Ex-girlfriend…Murder…Mayhem…gives you plenty to consider in this magical story.

With faeries and gnomes that talk, what more can you ask for in a story?

From the first time Claire and Finn meet you feel as if you can believe in love at first sight.

Claire knew from the beginning things just would not work between them. After all she herself was the product of a mixed relationship. She was half human and half faerie growing up in the world of the fae because she had magic. Claire became an endearing character with her whimsical, mischievous, impulsive nature that tended to get her into some trouble. And that trouble was Finn. Finn who happened to be a rakish playboy that was rather handsome as they tend to be. The interaction between the two was real as you watched the prejudices they both had melt away over the course of the story.

Finn changes as he discovers Claire gone after a steamy night of sex. She does stumble back into his life or should I say bedroom where they work together to save an ex-girlfriend from an unscrupulous character; and find out that they can’t ignore the magic that they have together.

Fate happens when we least expect it…even in this fast paced well written regency paranormal romance. Simply a fast paced story of intrigue and passion with a blend of elements from the human and fae worlds. This was such a fun story that after reading this and finding that it is the second in the series I purchased the first one and I am looking forward to reading it.

So if different is something you crave. Living outside the box of normalcy. Wanting something that is different then I feel you will find Ms. Falkner’s The Magic of ‘I Do’ just what you might want. I know I did. Because I feel everyone deserves a little bit o’ magic in their lives.

The Magic of “I Do” is the second book in the Faerie series by Tammy Faulkner. Claire Thorne is the daughter of a faerie and a human. She has spent her entire life with the Fae being raised by her grandparents. She is also a mission faerie and came to London on a mission with her sister Sophie. When the book opens she finds herself in a bit of a pickle. She has been abducted by Lord Phineas (Finn) Trimble, the brother of the Duke of Robinsworth. Claire and Finn are forced to stay at his home when a snowstorm occurs and the sparks fly between them, culminating in Claire losing her innocence to Finn. She is taken away by a faerie wind before they can talk about what happened. When circumstances throw them together again, Claire is increasing and worried about what it will mean. Finn, in the meantime, is just happy to see the woman who has been on his mind since they were together.
This was an interesting blend of paranormal and regency. The Rules of the Ton and the Unpardonable Errors of the Fae serve to cause difficulties for the two lovers. Even though they are attracted to each other, Claire knows from her own life experience that a fae child of a human parent causes problems in both worlds. Added to the mix, a vengeful Earl is determined to cause Finn and his brother trouble. Claire being a mission faerie and Finn being an Agent mean that they are both headstrong and wanting to rush right in when there is a problem. They are stubborn when it comes to their feelings for each other as well and it takes time for them to realize that they can’t live without the other.
I don’t usually like to read books out of order and I didn’t realize this was a sequel until I had already started it. I was enjoying the story so I kept going. As soon as I finished, I made sure to purchase the first book “A Lady and Her Magic”. The next book in the series " The Magic Between Us comes out in January of 2014.

I really wanted to like this book, but sadly it wasn't the story for me. I LOVE the most recent books from writing team, Lydia Dare, and I was so excited to try a book from one of the members of that writing team. Unfortunately, this book had none of the magic of Dare's books.

I didn't read the first book in the series, "A Lady and Her Magic", and I didn't feel like there was a proper introduction to the action at the beginning of the book. I felt bewildered and lost since I didn't read the previous book. There wasn't any explanation of what was going on, the reader is just plopped down in the middle of the action. In fact, I really got off on the wrong foot because I was picturing Finn as a creepy kidnapper instead of romantic hero and I never quite got over that initial image of him.

Everything just happened way too fast for me. There was very little character or story development. I honestly couldn't believe how fast these two jumped into bed together. They had barely met, and in terrible circumstances where they didn't even like each other (at least that's how it happened in this book, maybe they had more of a backstory in the first book).

While I still love Lydia Dare's books, this solo effort wasn't for me.

I really, really enjoyed this story!!! Witty banter, great storyline, steamy sex, and faerie magic!

"Do I look like an idiot?" She tilted her head at him. "Well, as a matter of fact..."

Claire Thorne is a faerie. She doesn't want to be in the human world, but after trying to save her sister from the dangerous Duke of Robinsworth, she finds herself abducted by Lord Phineas, Brother to the Duke of Robinsworth. A human.

And strictly forbidden. According to the list of Unpardonable Errors. Well, at least falling in love with one. Which she will never do.

Lord Phineas is in charge of keeping Claire out of trouble until his brother and his wife, Claire's sister, return from the land of fae. And she was making him HATE every last minute of it. How can someone so pretty be such a SHREW?

"Don't worry, I won't fall in love with you," she said.
"I don't love you either."
"I can never love you. It's forbidden."
"Thank God."

Ronald the Garden Gnome. Magic art work. Bad guy with a grudge. Unexpected events. "Dulcis domus."

A beautifully told story.

Highly recommend adding to your must read list!

THE MAGIC OF “ I DO” is an amusing and whimsical tale of love between a human and a faerie. Tammy Falkner has written a feisty and fun Regency romp that is full of magic, mayhem and a few sprightly characters. Be prepared to be fully entertained!

Claire Thorne makes a terrible mistake when she decides to leave the land of the Fae. She enters the land of humans in order to try to save her sister from the evil Duke of Robinsworth. Now she has been taken captive by the Duke’s brother, Lord Phineas (Finn) Trimble. To make matters worse, Finn has her magic dust and he refuses to give it back. Unable to use her magic to escape, Claire tries to use her charm instead.

When Finn decides that he needs a stiff drink in order to deal with the exasperating faerie, Claire decides that she would like to try some liquor as well. Finn refuses to let her sample his drink, but when he isn’t looking Claire takes a large gulp. The result is one drunken man with an inebriated faerie on his hands. Suddenly the two are unable to keep their hands off of each other and they end up in Finn’s bed.

This book takes place after book 1 ended, but you do not have to read book 1 to be able to follow it. Instead you get to know one angry fairy who is "kidnapped" by a rogue, the brother of the man her sister married.

Yes so Claire is a fairy from fairyland. Her sister married a duke and got a HEA. While Claire is sent with Phineas to be out of the way. And that can mean only one thing, romance. Claire tries to stay by her fairy rules, but attraction is something you can avoid for a while, but not forever. While Phineas, oh he is a rogue. I mean one thing that happened had me looking up and saying wow almost. Cos well that is not something I would have thought would take place. What you wonder? Ha, like I would spill the beans. Just trust me, roguish behavior, in a sort of good way.

The drama takes place in that well she is duh a fairy and should not fall for a human. Then there is something else. And then at last there is a really bad guy who I want to kick. Powers conspire to keep them apart.

It was cute with a few hot moments. A light book that I read fast.

Claire Thorne, a faerie, is being looked after by Lord Phineas "Finn" Trimble, who promised his brother to take care of Claire, while she is in the human world and his brother and sister-in-law are in the land of Fae. When Claire disappears after Finn and she make love, Finn searches for her to no avail. Months later, Claire appears in Finn's bedchamber, and he hopes that he can convince her that they can be together.

THE MAGIC OF "I DO" is a charming paranormal, regency, romance with lovable characters and many humorous scenes. Claire is torn, because of her feelings for Finn and the fact that Fae are forbidden to be with humans. No hothouse flower, Claire takes care of herself in most situations, and I like that ability in a heroine. Finn is something of a ladies' man, but once he falls for Claire, he only has eyes for her. These two make a great couple, and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I've been thoroughly enjoying the world created by Ms. Falkner, and I highly recommend THE MAGIC OF "I DO". It helped get me out of a little reading slump.

I do believe this was my favorite book in the series! I loved the passion, chemistry, mystery and pure hotness of the book and I laughed my butt off!
Claire is basically kidnapped by Lord Phineas (Finn) while his brother sorts out his love life to her sister in the land of the Fae.  Finn is a ladies man until he meets the one fairy that he can’t keep his hands off of.They share one magical night and she disappears, leaving Finn heart broke. Until months later she falls into his room through a magical portal. Now that she is back he will not let her go again.
Claire and Finn head butt at every turn and she gives him a run for his money! She also has a secret that will change everything between them. Together they stumble into a dangerous intrigue with an old family enemy that may end up costing their lives and new-found love.
This was one of those stories that stayed with me and I still find myself thinking about!

This is a book where Regency England meets the Land of the Fae, where historical romance meets magic. Ms Falkner weaves a story where Fairies can cross over into the human world and from the moment Claire meets Finn the two of their lives will be changed. The rules are simple, do not fall in love with a human, do not marry a human, do not conceive a child with a human. However rules are meant to be broken. From the moment they meet the two are simultaneously attracted to each other while being a thorn in each others side. As the story progress's you will also be led into a world where the rich can indulge in any sexual fantasy, where rakes earn their reputations and where even the wealthiest can escape murder charges. A fun and easy read with a new twist to age old stories, I would recommend this for a lazy rainy afternoon.

I think The Magic of “I Do” should come with a warning label on the front cover. WARNING: If you haven’t read book one of this series you will be lost from Chapter One.

Fortunately, I have read A Lady and her Magic but that doesn’t particularly mean I remember all the details author Tammy Falkner assumes that I do. If you are willing to push through the confusion of the missing backstory, character introductions and leftover events from book one then you’ll have an OK time reading. However, if you hate the feeling that something is missing while you read then I would probably recommend skipping this book.

I loved the first book in the series and I liked the second even more!

Claire couldn't be more different than her sweet and quiet sister, and it was great! Don't get me wrong, I love demure sweet girls, but sometimes I want a girl that goes for what she wants and just doesn't give a damn :) Oh, and Phineas... Have I mentioned how much I love reformed rakes?
Well, I do!
A perfect match made in Faerie :)

Together they solve a mystery using some plot points I've read in historicals before (hence, the 4 stars) but honestly it was so much fun to read it didn't bother me too much.

Recommended for anyone that loves PNR or Historicals.

*And once again, that cover is just gorgeous!

The plot begins mi-stream and the love scene is not believable or romantic. The story fizzles out after the two main characters fall into bed together.
