Bravi celebrates one of the great companies in the world--Lyric Opera of Chicago--truly a special place where artists love to come to sing and where, night after night, audiences fill the house to overflowing. During the past fifteen years, under the leadership of general director Ardis Krainik, and with artistic director Bruno Bartoletti, Lyric has given the world many truly extraordinary productions. Now, to commemorate Lyric's fortieth anniversary, the great photographer Victor Skrebneski has photographed eleven outstanding international singers. He has honored some of Lyric's most important conductors, designers, and directors and has chosen, and personally printed, a magnificent collection of production photographs taken since 1981.

Good photos, but there's not a whole lot of content here. It was a clever fundraiser.

However, I must say it was worth the price just for the photo of Sam Ramey in very nicely fitted leather pants and a shirt open down to there. (If you prefer women, there's Maria Ewing in Salome at the end of the Dance of the 7 Veils (having divested herself of all of them), not to mention Marilyn Zcshau tempting Tannhaüser with a very elegant pair of legs.) What was that about a fat lady?
