The Gift, is a three dimensional children s book created using vintage and discarded books and journals on the subjects of God and love, stories that embodied the ideas of journey and longing, hope and trust. The pages from these books were then hand painted and each piece of illustration was meticulously hand cut, assembled and photographed to create this beautiful hard cover book. The Gift is the story of one small boy and his heart of love, pinned to him on the day of his birth. The story journeys through his hardship and missteps, as he follows this heart of love to the home of his true self, of God's love for him, to the heart of love he held all along, the gift of love and forgiveness.

Collage illustrations are beautiful, and I like the style of "typewriter" text. The story's theme is well done. It helps illustrate the idea of carrying love in our hearts and that when our hearts feel heavy, we can seek help. Get more (including reader awareness warnings) in the full review.
