Wolf Queen by Scott Alexander Baker is the second book in the exhilarating Everlasting Night Series. The thrilling excitement continues as a new creature of the night joins Alexander and his quest to defeat the evil Lord Dartan.

Clara is an unpopular high school senior with few friends and the longing desire to buy a car so she can avoid the students who torment her on the bus. Just like every other day this summer, Clara was hard at work in the stables shoveling manure and hauling hay for the wealthy owners. As she daydreams of spending her summer poolside as many of her classmates do, she is instructed to report to the main house immediately. Clara begrudgingly heads to the main house, knowing she'll have more work to do tomorrow. What happens next catapults Clara into the remarkable underworld of werewolves and vampires. At first Clara tries to fight her destiny as the High Queen, but soon realizes her position is far too important to be taken lightly. She must gather forces to ensure the survival of all werewolves as well as to create a lasting bond between all of the creatures of the night. Clara is joined by Dartan's enemy, Alexander and several other vampires that vow to aid in her mission. Will Clara prove she is worthy to be the most powerful werewolf or will she fail miserably allowing Lord Dartan to carry out his sinister plan to control them all?

Wolf Queen is a tantalizing thrill ride with so many twists it will leave your head spinning.

This series has been very rewarding. It's called the Everlasting Night Series and is a compelling change from the stereo typical run of the mill, same old same old, of the werewolves and vampires genres.
It's a heavily political series with elements of thrillers, paranormal, horror, and romance.
The first book, A Bite is Forever Part 1, was a hard hitting quick read that was fast paced and readily digestible.
The second book, Wolf Queen, is much longer, still readily digestible, but an amazing addition to the series.
The first book focused on Alexander, his relationships and his change into a young vampire.
This book introduces a lot of new characters, including Clara, a new werewolf.
She experience a sudden life changing event, like Alexander, which left her just as stunned and lonely as Alexander had been.
In the beginning Wolf Queen focuses on Clara's story, but don't worry, it picks up where A Bite is Forever Part 1 left off.
It brings together many of Dartan's (The main villain) enemies while forming a steady resistance against anyone who dares try to take him down.
The climax of Wolf Queen was unbelievable, unexpected, and utterly intense.
I highly recommend this book, as well as the first book in the Everlasting Night series to anyone who enjoys a good story with careful attention to character and a great plot.



Wolf Queen continues the journey of Dartan and Alexander as well as adding a huge cast of characters to the mix. The politics and inner workings of vampire and werewolf high courts are detailed while pressing forward with the search for the true assassins of the high queen.
When Clara is thrust into a new world of intrigue she has no idea whether she will live to see Dartan and Elinor punished.
Alexander, Faye, and the rest of the estate are left to put together the pieces of their wrecked lives.
In the end there are too many risks. And the limits to how far either side are willing to go is blurring.
When the book releases in just weeks, I hope that the end will satisfy all the readers of the series.
