Dixie is lying in the shadows just outside the grasp of the detectives who keep her at the top of their suspect list in her husband Jimmy's murder. One detective, Hawke Stone, trusted her by becoming too close to the pretty redhead during his homicide investigations, and Dixie silenced him while singing him a dark lullaby.
Hawke Stone's fellow detectives lack evidence in several ghastly murder cases popping up throughout their county. They cannot pin Jimmy Buchanan's murder on any one suspect due to the tumultuous way he lived his life; although they suspect his wife Dixie of the murder, they can't prove it. OMG! Dixie leaves you breathless with a heartbreaking gaping wound left wide open from her pain of what she felt she must do. Her decision left me speechless and shocked all at the same time. This book is intensely insane but I loved every single word of it! I'm ready for book 3.
