I bought this for my husband, for you make the knife blades from pr-existing saw blades-not forging from Scratch. It was a large section, with amazing pictures of acid etched designs on the blades. They were pieces of art. Where no book is perfect, this gives my hubby to do do in his metal shop he is creating in the garage.

Many a hobbyist knifemaker has used this book as their introduction to the art and science of knifemaking. I read this back in 1995 and immediately threw myself into the world of knifemaking armed with nothing more than the knowledge in this book, a grinder and belt sander, a hibachi and a fan. I've bought other books since then and mostly used them as reference, but this is the only one I read from cover to cover.
