National Geographic writers and photographers take you along the storied streets of eternal Rome. You cruise the canals of Venice. You watch Leonardo paint the "Mona Lisa" and you leaf through the prophetic pages of his notebooks.
This was a great review of the history of the modern world, its art and achievements. I had read this book many, many years ago. I enjoyed it then and I enjoyed it this time through. I recommend it to anyone who likes history and art.
This is a lushly produced volume, focusing on the Renaissance. There are many examples of the art of the era; there are photographs of landmarks and artifacts. This is a National Geographic publication.
