Diamond has some helpful insights to big picture concepts regarding visual marketing. The problem with this book is that there's no current edition, and the most recent printing was from 2013 which is, in the world of social media, egregiously outdated. It does not account for massive changes on companies like Instagram or the advent of Snapchat or live video streaming that has come through Periscope, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and others. I would not recommend reading this book because there are many other books newer and more updated than the information in this one. If it were 2013, I'm sure I would love it but there were too many extended sections that did not apply to what marketers and advertisers are working through, rendering it irrelevant.
This is a comprehensive and practical book on visual social media resources. I love the easy-to-follow structure. Stephanie does a great job showcasing the various social media platforms and how they are all used independently and together to build a visual brand. I would certainly recommend this book for anyone interested in developing a visual presence on social media.
