The Next Hundred Years' War: The Impact of The Imminent War Between China and the United States

Rate this book
How the looming war between Beijing and the White House threatens every citizen of the world - and what they can do about it.

The power struggle between the United States of America and the People’s Republic of China is decades-old but more relevant than ever. The battleground between the red giant to the east and the blue giant to the west has grown to encapsulate all manner of political agendas - from the Chinese manufacturing revolution to climate policies, global military and defense strategies, and nuclear and economic development. In the next hundred years, it will slowly but surely devolve into a full-fledged war.

Global economic expert Eran Nitzan has worked with both Chinese and American authorities during his decades-long career as an Israeli diplomat and economic attaché to the US. Having a unique vantage point on both parties' mindsets and incentives, The Next Hundred Years' War offers an unbiased, in-depth look into the many direct and indirect influences of the conflict of the 21st century. Nitzan sheds light on these critical issues and demonstrates how both countries challenge and transform each other; what truly lies at the base of their enmity; and exactly how and why even countries that don't actively take part in their struggle are not exempt from its consequences.

Quite balanced, being not too pro-American neither too anti-Chinese. Makes some great points about the balance of power and the legitimate and illegitimate concerns of China and the US.

‘The conflict with China is seeping into the heart of the U.S.’ - An important alert!

Israeli author Eran Nitzan has been Israel’s economic attaché in Washington DC and has extensive experience as Deputy Director of the Budget Department, Israeli Ministry of Finance. In this, his initial book offering, he brings into the focus the many realities of our ‘dependence’ on China’s tech market along with the political tension between the two countries and in doing so he offers insights as to the growth of China’s influence that could lead to major conflict. His book has been translated from the Hebrew by Kaaren Fish.

Nitzan’s book is brimming with such statements as ‘Some governmental agencies are appalled at what they view as China selling its soul to the capitalist West, while others - mostly covertly - seek greater freedom and openness.’ and ‘How is China, which just forty years ago was starvation-stricken on a level comparable to Sudan, become a superpower that is expected to surpass even the United States?’ Placing such information and questions before us serves as a platform for examining what is happening at present - our dependence on China’s advanced development of technology and supply of same, the changes in China’s military armament and growth as an economy with advanced authority as a capitalist dictatorship - all themes that deserve attention and understanding. As Nitzan states, the conflict between China and the US is not about resources or territory, but about control and world influence. ‘In the Right corner, in Blue - the United States. In the Left corner, in Red - China.’ Well researched and written in a most accessible manner, this book is important for examining world politics and world power. ‘It’s about making room at the top.’ Read and consider - an impressive and important book.

A very good analysis of what are the points of view of each side & how Israel is caught in the fray .
Nitzan mostly concentrates on the economic side of the ongoing conflict but without making it a super boring book full of tables and never ending numbers
