Ginny Rigby’s life is looking up. The Lighthouse Café is a success, and she’s slowly getting to know the handsome Aiden. But when Aiden’s ex-wife starts making trouble for her, Ginny’s not sure if she’ll be able to stay in the relationship, or if it’s time for her to go.
Why does Reece Rigby keep running into the dashing Ted? Her best friend Shelby has a massive crush on him, and Reece has no interest in putting a guy before a friendship. But the more she runs into him, the more Reece can’t deny her feelings. What will she choose to do?
Join the women of Sugar Cove as they weave intricate relationships, serve up mouthwatering food, and explore their new life at the Lighthouse on the beach.
What will happen with Ginny and Aiden? How can Reece deny her feelings for Ted? You’ll find the answers in this book.
If you love summer reads about sisterhood, this book is for you. We are introduced to Daphne, Lanier and Mary Stuart, as little girls they are in the same cabin at an all girls sleep away camp. The trio become fast friends and stay that way thru their growing up years, even becoming counselors, in spite of trials and tribulations. They come together this summer to try to save their much loved Camp Holly Springs from closing.
Have read and enjoyed previous books by this author, I had to read this one. Characters are easy to like, flawed, relatable each in their own way. They are argumentative, supportive, inquisitive. Each woman tells her story, with the addition of Daphne’s Aunt June, owner of the ailing camp. The storylines were easy to follow and all come together nicely. Perfect book for a late summer vacation, a lazy weekend at home or get the kids on the bus, grab a coffee and read!
Loved this one as much as the first in the series. Appreciated the adult way the situation with Reece, Shelby and Ted was handled. Instead of taking the old, overused, way of handling it this was fresh and emotionally mature. Love how the author captures the feelings of Ginny as she embarks on a new potential love life and also that it is a slow burn type of love. There just aren't that many love stories out there about women who are in their 50s or older. Well done. I don't know if there are any men like Aiden in the world, but if there are I hope they find equally good women. While I do understand Chandler's feelings, I think it was overdone. Overall, this was a very enjoyable story and I look forward the next in this series.
If you are looking for a sweet book with a sprinkle of mystery, a dash of romance, lots of family love and new beginnings, then A Lighthouse Secret is the book for you.
I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of book 2 in the Gulf Coast Series as I wanted to see how Ginny Rigby’s new life in Sugar Cove, as owner of the Lighthouse Café, has transpired. And let me tell you it’s been exciting. Ginny discovers an old hidden diary in the walls of her lighthouse. Ginny can’t help but read the contents of the diary and what she uncovers is the story of a forbidden love. Speaking of love, Ginny’s relationship with Aiden begins to blossom into something beyond a friendship. I love that Ginny is such a strong and independent woman and has taken the adversity thrown her way in stride and started up a successful business.
A Light House Secret also follows the stories of Ginny’s two adult daughters, Reece and Chandler. Both women are navigating relationships, love and new careers. And just like their mother, Reece and Chandler are fiercely independent and strong minded young women.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading book 2 of the Gulf Coast Getaway series. My only complaint is that now I have to wait until Book 3 comes out to figure out how the cliffhanger ends.
Thank you Author Bebe Reed for my electronic advanced copy of A Lighthouse Secret in exchange for my honest review.
Slow burn three times is a little too much. Ginnie and Aidan are closer in age to me, Chandler and Hudson go living together after sharing a taxi and then hesitate to move forward... And Reece and Ted are clearly meant to be. My favorite character was Ted. Want to know more about them, so start the next book in the series right away. I've just learnt that the base for a romcom book is miscommunication. If the characters spoke more openly, stories would be shorter.
The story continues though the mystery was solved!
These books are so good! I love picturesque Sugar Cove! The mystery of Emma Grace’s disappearance over 70 years ago is finally answered. Now the mystery is why does Savannah keep trying to call Ginny? I’m off to read the next book to see if I get answers.
A Lighthouse Secret comes to light in yet another wonderful Gulf Coast Getaway. Reading how the lives of a mother and daughters realize the importance of their loved ones is truly inspiring. The secrets from the past can have the power to destroy or heal you. Recommend reading this.
perfect lazy summer day read even if it takes place I. the fall
Ginny is settling in with her lighthouse, her new business and boyfriend (and finally reads Emma Grace’s diary). This gives her daughters time to work on their own relationships. There are a couple of twists with a humdinger ending.
I love this book , it’s magical & I like how the owner of that diary was found & how she survived with her true love ! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series ! It’s wonderful how Ginny rebuilds her life & opens a lighthouse cafe.
I wasn't disappointed . This one was even better than the first one. Took me a while to figure out the secret but was held captive by the storyline. I do believe I have found a new author to add to my favs.
A nice continuation from the first! I think my favorite part was Ginny reading Grace’s journal and discovering what came of her. And the cliff hanger leaves me wanting to read the next one!
Great continuation of book one!!!!!! I absolutely love this story line and how it is a real family with real family problems.... I can't wait to read #3!!!!!
I've loved getting to know this family - and figuring out the mystery about the light house... but cliff hangers kill me - so I'm glad I've already got the 3rd book!
The second book in this delightful series. More relationship woes and new beginnings, plus Ginny finds a diary that might hold some clues of a sixty year old mystery of a woman who disappeared.
Will the new friendships in Sugar Cove free the hearts of the Rigby ladies? They are all struggling because their father destroyed their trust. This is a great story. Can't wait to start the next book.
A Lighthouse Secret picks up right where the first book cliffhanger left off. It is a delightful quick read as you learn about the mystery surrounding the diary and following the women as they settle into their new life in the small town and lighthouse. Similar to the first book, this one ends in a cliffhanger too, so I look forward to reading the sequel!
