Holly Webb is one of Britain's best-loved children's writers. She has written over a hundred books for children, and her work has been translated into over thirty languages. Holly lives in Tilehurst, just outside of Reading, Berkshire, with her husband, three children and several cats.
In this book Amy and Lara are two sisters awaiting their new sibling to arrive whilst they go on a family holiday, a holiday with her brownie group for Amy too and as Lara's birthday arrives the girls have to learn to share their room when the baby turns up and Lara's mood swings get worse!
At least Choc their dog is around to keep them company and entertained!
This book shows how tension can make or break siblings but how the love and joy of a pet can enhance lives and make everything better I found the adventure in their town that the girl and dog went on great with plenty of twists to keep you reading on to see how everything would turn out.
This book was pretty good. The dog is really smart. The girl in the book ranaway because, she didn't want to share rooms with her sister. She ran away. She took her dog.She wore her brownie uniform so it was very obvious that she was running away. She went to the park. The kids at the park ate her runaway dinner. When looked back the dog was gone. She found him though. He was a smart dog where he was the whole time.
I thought that this book was awesome! I think that Laura must really look up to Amy think of her as super smart. However, I don't think Amy meant what she said. She was just angry. I mean, she would be because of everything that was going on, wouldn't she? At least she had Choc. He helped a lot, actually. My faviroute character is Kate and Choc because they both were so helpful, Choc leading Dad to Amy when she ran away and Kate trying to make Laura happy. I reccomend this book to everyone as it is awesome and amazing!
Another reasonably entertaining story featuring animals (and again with the pet dog) by Holly Webb who knows her craft, and can hone out a good story which is entertaining and with points that can be discussed as well, as all good stories should be.
