Dreams are often hidden desires… even if they are terrifying. Michael Malone, a mystically enhanced vampire, destroys three immortal sorcerers and takes on their vengeful army of hell-beasts in an ungodly, unprecedented battle. His reasons? Retribution. And love. Now, poisoned and captured, his body is exsanguinated and left to rot in a cell beneath the city. Guided by the angel Helena, he spins an epic fantasy of compelling love and deep devotion to the one woman he treasures and his mystically-human, very troubled son. Michael’s fading mind roars through emotional twists and unexpected turns, through passionate highs and very human, realistic lows. Is there deliverance or the end to his immortal existence at its conclusion? Each revelation offers grains of hope and redemption. Yet the commanding vampire's last words doggedly remain “Let me die.”

Dark Vampire Horror With A Hint of Spice And Deep Redemption Arc
Quote:📖 “I pushed. I forced him to face something beyond his control, and he couldn’t stop. Neither could I, and to be honest, I didn’t want to.”
The only words Michael Malone could clearly think were etched deep in his soul for an eternity. My Guardian…my love.
Thoughts: 💡 This was compelling and dark. My heart ached for these characters and their struggles. This story is much darker and far more explicit than other books I’ve read from Wild Rose Press but I really liked it. I think what I loved the most was all the different family dynamics. The father son relationship between Lucas and Michael was compelling, but so where the relationships between Alana and her family.
Writing Mechanics: ✍️ The plot is complicated and multifaceted but no less fast paced or entrancing because of it. The characters have beautiful backstories and their struggles and motivations will pull on your heart strings. The writing is well edited and the word choices flow well. I strongly recommend trying this story if you love vampires.

I liked this book as I love books about vampires and this was a good one. I liked the story about Michael the vampire who is trying to save his son and his guardian, Alana. He is trying to destroy other supernatural beings to save his son Lukas and his love and guardian Alana.
There is a lot to this story as Michael who is such a strong character gets injured really badly and then he becomes not so strong. His entire being becomes weaker and also pretty non-emotional.
Alana his guardian, leaves him after a while as they can not be together due to the rules of being a guardian. And she travels to another country to leave him so it isn’t difficult for the both of them. But then Michael is badly injured and she is called to have Michael and Lukas stay at her home, while Michale recovers, if he recovers….
I love the back and forth between Alana and Michael in this book. The snipes, comments, and conversations were so engaging to read.
I love the ending, it obviously and definitely leaves this book to start a series of books and I look forward to reading more by this author!
Think you've read all the stories on vampires? Think again. In this tale, a vampire at the end of his immortal life pleads for release and atonement. His reasons will astonish you...or perhaps not. At the crux of this tale is the paradox of love.
From the first page until the last, this book will capture your imagination. From the descriptive narration to the characters to the action scenes to the deep POVs, they all blend together to create an original, unforgettable paranormal romance. Yes, you read that correctly, this is an original paranormal romance.
The plot is well-conceived, and the execution is brilliant. The pace is quick, almost frantic, yet it makes the reader read faster. The reader also gets to experience all the emotions of the characters at an elevated pace.
The world-building is stunning and intricate. The author builds a gritty world, a haven for vampires, mystical creatures, and more, where humans have little power. The lore of these creatures is steeped in common mythology, yet the author adds her own spin to make it her own.
The characters are quite compelling, and I connected with them on some level. The character that cleaved himself to me and made the biggest impact is Michael's son. He's in a world he doesn't quite understand and is forced to do the unthinkable.
The writing reminds me of classic Anne Rice blended with Stephen King. M. Flagg is an up-and-coming paranormal romance author you will want to read. I can't wait for more.

Our Review: This novel, with its complicated plotline and multi-layerd characters is seasoned throughout with the author’s talent for lush descriptive phrasing as well as intense emotion. Fans of vampire fiction will love this one.
On a scale of 1-5, The Vampire’s Retribution merits a 4.
I am such a fan of vampire books, I don’t think I’ll ever read enough. I’m so happy that this one didn’t disappoint. It’s one of those books that you can spend all day reading because it has a little bit of everything. The writing was well done, especially the action scenes. They were easy to picture and I never felt lost. Overall, I would highly recommend this book.
