Dinosaur School

Which Is Different?

Rate this book
The concepts of "same" and "different" are important for early learners to understand, and they are the focal point of this fun and helpful book. Bright cartoon dinosaurs can be found on each page, alongside easy-to-follow text asking readers to question which dinosaur is different from the others and explaining why. The strong correlation between illustrations and text allows for the development of vocabulary skills. This book presents young readers with a variety of real-world differences--including differences in clothing and differences in food. These are each depicted in a way that allows for independent learning and an enjoyable reading experience.

What a fun picture book! There is so much going on in this book, so many opportunities to teach and learn. The main idea of the story is to identify which character is different in the pictures, which will lead you to a new clue. Other hidden concepts are counting, identifying colors, and seeking information. The illustrations are very vibrant and cover the entire page. I would recommend this to children who are pre-k through maybe even 1st grade just because it is so much fun. This would also be a great book to use during a unit that is teaching numbers or colors.
