And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation. Amos 8:10
Thanks to Caleb’s and Bristol’s bravery, Cocke County has been freed from the Koontz family’s greedy grip. However, in a world that is being savaged by an economically induced famine, the local criminal cartel is far from the only threat. To combat the growing crisis, President Teivel signs the Restore America Act into law. The new legislation grants emergency powers to FEMA enabling them to set up shelter and sustenance centers in all major metro areas. The Restore America Act mandates that all citizens report to the nearest relief center or face involuntary relocation.
Caleb and Bristol ignore the unconstitutional order but while on a scavenging mission to gather medical supplies, they butt heads with a military patrol searching for survivors in Newport. They try to escape but to no avail. Caleb and Bristol are detained and transported to the Knoxville FEMA super complex. Trying to evade the military earns them a trip to Camp 11, Resocialization, which is set up for wayward citizens who need to be taught to appreciate what their magnanimous government is trying to do for them.
Once there, they learn that Camp 11 is far from the most egregious form of FEMA’s compulsory compassion. Caleb and Bristol will have to be on their toes to not get sucked further down the rat hole before they get an opportunity to escape.

As with all works by Mark Goodwin, this book contains no profanity and no embarrassing sex scenes. However, if you're offended by conservative principles and references to Scripture, this book might not be for you.

Great series! Sadly, a realistic future unless ppl wake up spiritually to evil
Well-written and great character development! People must wake up to the blatant evil which has encompassed our society creeping in + growing over the last 40-50 yrs. The last 10 yrs has been a fast decline! Think about the way media of all kinds have normalized evil or unnatural behavior...as The Bible says they call evil good and good as evil. Children need a foundation of Truth that they are Valuable bc GOD created them not bc they evolved from pond scum by accident. Every single person is valuable in God's eyes + its the true enemy... satan + his evil demons who influence them. That's why Jesus taught us to LOVE our enemies! While some may turn from their wicked influence others may be too far gone hardened hearts. No matter what lies in the next decade or within our lifetimes....when Jesus returns ....HE PREVAILS! in fact, He already did on TheCross! Jesus paid the debt each of us owe bc we've all sinned against a Holy God. Bc of LOVE Jesus willingly took upon The wrath I deserve. For that, I'm astounded at His Love, his Selflessness.... Stepping down from eternal Glory He had in heaven + taking on human flesh to do what none of us can do! An infinitely valuable sacrifice + applicable to mankind ....Jesus Christ The King of Kings and Lord of Lords! May books like this wake ppl up to the evil around them + obviously NEVER go to the Govt community center or school for relief aid when an all-out economic or societal breakdown happens!
The group works together to survive. Caleb and Bristol get caught up in the crosshairs of a military patrol while they are out gathering medical supplies. This gets them what the military thinks will be a one way trip to the FEMA camp in Knoxville.
Lamentations for the Fallen has been a very engaging series. Caleb and the crew work well together to survive and defeat their enemies, by the grace of God. I struggled with Bristol’s personality throughout the series and still did with this book. The bittersweet ending will stay with me a long time. I enjoy Mark Goodwin’s writing more and more with each book.
I really like how your heroes interact with their peers and loved ones. I also appreciate that they are so realistic and bring possibilities to life. Not greatly fond of how newly wed husbands are over protective of each other or clingy, its realistic, yes, but it could use some changes for your next books, possibly. I would and do recommend this to everyone I talk about god and prepping with. Keep up the great work.
Another great story from Mark Goodwin. This has been a very good series and I really appreciate Mark continuing to NOT use profanity in his books. There are others who write similar stories that for some reason think they have to fill the books with a lot of vulgar language which only detracts from the stories.
The details In this book are amazing. Mark Goodwin is an exceptional writer. What a fantastic imagination and attention while writing little details that so perfectly put the reader into the story. (review by Sue C. Weaver) P.S. Each book gets better and better! Trust me, you'll enjoy all of Mark Goodwin's books!!!
This is another very entertaining tale by the prepper author and Christian writer, Goodwin. This tale practically makes the end times described by the evangelical bible come alive. It will truly light a fire in any readers heart. This is my second reading of this tale. Love it.
Very good book, great information and a whole lot of what I have pictured the is going to happen. Most people think that’s impossible but believe me this. Ok tells it like it is.
As always, Mark Goodwin brings truth and fiction into play with this ending of the Lamentation series. The battles are fierce and the scenarios a bit far fetched but the book is a great read.
The 3rd book in Lamentations for the Fallen. Definitely a page turner and exciting all the way to the last page. The ending leaves the door open for the imagination to decide the ending.
I've enjoyed reading this series. I almost feel like these characters are part of my family. I'm really going to miss them now. Great stories. I recommend all 3 books.
Absolutely loved this series I fell in love with this author and will continue to read everything he's written this series is up to date for the time we are living in today I hope many many people read this.
I love that you include Bible verses and you tell stories without every other word starting with an F. Thank you for your books. I look forward to the next one!
