Fleeing from a nine-year abusive marriage, Audra Banner boards a small passenger plane that never makes it to its destination. Thinking she is the sole survivor, injured and scared, Audra is relieved when another passenger, Luke, an Irish, one-armed rock climber, finds her near the wreckage. They rapidly try to figure out how to survive, waiting to be rescued. Opening the cargo hatch of the wrecked plane for supplies, they find the plane was on a much more nefarious mission. This now puts them in danger for their lives and on the run. They discover the plane was way off course when it crashed and need to traverse the Idaho wilderness to get to the nearest town... days away and on the other side of the mountains. Audra has to learn to believe in her own strength, trust a man she just met, and conquer the fear inside her, which held her down for almost a decade. Not only do they have to find a way out, they also need to lean on each other to survive and continue on the run to stay ahead of those who want them dead. Luke proves to be the friend Audra has needed the most. His life struggles offer a different perspective for Audra, and the push she needs to climb outside of her own mind.
Multi award-winning, cross-genre author, journalist, and librarian!
Juliet Rose is driven to bring to life characters from many walks of life and the struggles faced in modern society. Her writing style is open and fluid, giving the characters the ability to shine as the truth of their own story. Her works are honest and sometimes brutally painful but in the end, her characters are given the voice which needs to be heard.
Juliet is a New York native living in the mountains of Georgia. She has lived all over the United States and Mexico and doesn’t plan to stop seeing the world beyond her front doorstep. She spends her time rescuing animals, painting, and writing.
Honestly, I wanted to give it more stars. It went from leaving an abusive relationship, to a plane crash with only two passengers surviving (Audra & Luke), a pilot being paid to smuggle plutonium, a terrorist group that made one brief appearance in the book. Audra and Luke survived for a week or more on the mountain before easily being found by an ambulance…then, it turns into a romance story depicting the most perfect life..after a few nightmare for both of them. No dealing with the trauma from a nine year abusive marriage….finding the perfect man and living happily ever after. Not sure what to make of it. And perhaps it’s an Irish thing, but every other sentence from Luke ended in “like” or “so”. I think I read the word like a million times. I wanted to like it. And perhaps there are spoilers, so lemme click the button.

Fleeing from an abusive relationship, Audra has no idea what challenges lie ahead. If surviving a plane crash in the mountains weren’t hard enough, fleeing through mountainous terrain while hunted by terrorists keep you reading from page one to the very end Love does conquer all but only with faith and endurance. A great quick read.
Like the book says on the back cover "If it's book by Juliet Rose, you just know it's going to be good." This book was gripping from beginning to end. First with the abuse Audra faced, to the plane crash, to everything that followed. This should be a movie.
"Juliet Rose’s Catch the Earth features the journey that Audra and Luke experienced after boarding a charter plane. Fleeing from an abusive husband, Audra took the flight not knowing who she was anymore. She saw two athletic men talking but then noticed that one of them was missing an arm. Forty-five minutes later, the plane lost altitude and crashed into a mountainside. Audra regained consciousness outside the plane but was suffering from a severe leg injury. Thankfully Luke, the one-armed man, also survived the crash. Working together, they entered the cargo hold and found [removed for spoiler]. Both of them knew they needed to get away from the crash site. The following day, a plane flew toward the wrecked aircraft. A struggle against nature and fleeing from terrorists bonded these two people who were dealing with emotional trauma.
Juliet Rose focused on Audra’s point of view. The common red flags present in the character of her husband James were evident from his words and actions. The weight of Audra’s emotional baggage was immense. Luke’s missing arm didn’t hinder his determination. It was easy to imagine the wilderness and the difficulty of climbing over a mountain range. The suspense grew in intensity as each day passed. I found the support Luke and Audra gave each other to be enchanting. The solidarity was uplifting despite the lingering danger."
This book is a genre I've never read, or even thought about reading, BUT this book was amazing!!! Great characters, exciting adventure, danger, it has it all. A tale of resilience, strength, overcoming self doubt and accepting real love and support. You will fall in love with Audra and Luke! I highly recommend this novel to everyone. BELIEVE, TRUST, CONQUER
This book was more than I expected. It constantly causes stress for the characters and I hated James as much as Audra did. Respect for a differently-abled primary character having depth.
