Wow, what a little gem!
This was a great novelette about some scientists in Turkey who stumble upon an unfathomably old object that threatens Earth. The storyline was fast-paced and catchy. I found it hard for me to stop reading at the end of each chapter, though it wasn't so much due to suspense or action, but wonder and curiosity. I can't say I noticed much of the "romance" indicated by the title, though!
