The flagship title of the certification suite from the American College of Sports Medicine, ACSM&;s Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription is a handbook that delivers scientifically based standards on exercise testing and prescription to the certification candidate, the professional, and the student. The 9th edition focuses on evidence-based recommendations that reflect the latest research and clinical information. This manual is an essential resource for any health/fitness and clinical exercise professional, physician, nurse, physician assistant, physical and occupational therapist, dietician, and health care administrator. This manual gives succinct summaries of recommended procedures for exercise testing and exercise prescription in healthy and diseased patients.
Exercise Testing and Presciption, a necessity for anybody who wants to exercise and have fun in an environment without injuries. Being by the American College of Sports Medicine, they maintain their integrity as the go to place for exercise testing and superscription: and it shows in the content of this book.
I will definitely keep this book on hand to refer back to. Pertinent information regarding exercise testing and prescription can be found within this book.
This is the bible for pre-exercise risk stratification, fitness assessments, exercise prescription, and programming. With excellent reason, this book is one of the single most internationally read and referenced texts of its kind. I definitely recommend it, but am not checking the "I recommend this book" box because I save that distinction for books that will benefit everyone in my network, including the non-health/fitness professional.
Got it for class, keeping it for life. Everything you'll need as a personal trainer, coach, teacher or just someone who is interested in exercise and fitness
