I started the book a few months ago and had some trouble with the first chapter. It wasn't keeping my attention at all. I set it down. I am so glad I came back and gave it another go as once I got into the second chapter, I really started to enjoy the book. There is a lot to the book as it weaves together the lives of these friends. The spiritual bits add a great touch and the various perspectives of how we perceive and whether the storms in our lives. I was left wondering what happened with Elizabeth and who the person was Agnes wanted her to meet. Perhaps that is another story for another book.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book once I gave it a second chance.
