I’d mistaken him for a ten when he turned out to be a minus five. He was so beautiful but damaged beyond repair. There was no amount of understanding or loving that could save a man who didn’t want to be saved. So after one night together, I gladly washed my hands of him.
Until everything went south.
My father was dead. My sister needed help, and it was time I behaved like a responsible older sister, one with a plan.
Unfortunately, my plan was slightly…lacking.
When I was caught red-handed stealing from my less than wonderful one-night stand, Winston Ashford became intent on bending me to his will.
It turned out that he was as ruthless as he was gorgeous and cruel as he was tender.
Forced into an unwanted arrangement with the arrogant bastard, the kind that required rings, my last name became his. I became his reluctant, yet thankfully, secret wife. Unfortunately, he became the man who unknowingly held all the cards. At least we went our separate ways even if legally we were still bound together.
Six lonely years later, our paths crossed again.
There was still a darkness inside of him that scared me down to my very core.
He claimed he wanted a real marriage. That he was a changed man. But deep down, he was still the same. Damaged. Battling invisible scars and habits that were hard to break.
He saved me once upon a time. It was time for me to save him.

I have to admit that even after finishing the book, I still don't know what the major plot was. It seems like there are lots of things going on at once. While it's not completely all over the place, I'm having trouble pinpointing this story's end goal.
Winston (33) and Billie (24) met at a bar, and they spent the night together. This was supposed to be a ONS for Win, which was his usual MO. He said he never slept with women twice and never spent the night with any. But for some reason, he felt something different about her (shocker). If you want to read about a manwhore who had a 180 after one night, someone who became unknowingly obsessed and needy with one woman, you should go read this. Was I convinced by the sudden change in his personality? Absolutely not! I don't understand where this change was coming from or how Billie seemed to be different from all the women he had.
Anyway, after that night, Billie left, and came home only to find out that her dad's clinic had been foreclosed (thanks to Win's father) and they were in a mountain of debt. She thought of ideas on how to pay for it, and she came up with the dumbest one which was going back to Win's place that night and to try stealing a necklace displayed in his living room. Mind you, she doesn't have any clue about stealing, and Win's house is highly secured. Perhaps she thought that since she'd already been there, she could slip in once more. Obviously, she got caught. 🤷♀️
Coincidentally, Win was ambushed by his father early that day, who ordered him to marry this OW to help him gain more connections. Which he didn't want to do, so he told him that he's already married. This is where the secret marriage happened.
Win blackmailed Billie, saying that if she didn't marry him, he would put her and her family in jail for stealing the necklace. Since she was caught red-handed and has no excuse, she agreed to marry him but stated her condition that it'd be a secret. So within 48 hours of meeting each other, they got married, and apparently that was when Win realized Billie's it for him. Idk why or how this realization happened, honestly, it just came out of nowhere.
Come morning, after their impromptu wedding. Win's father came to his house and threatened him that he would hurt Billie if he didn't annul her, and he called her a gold digger. Win got mad, but he also agreed with his father's sentiment; he told him he knows she's a gold digger and doesn't care about it. He wanted to find a way to escape the marriage arrangement being pushed by his father. So in his mind, he could care less if Billie was a gold digger, just as long as she'd be married to him and prevent him from getting married to the OW.
I forgot to say that Win was an asshole for the first 40% of the book. So him calling Billie a gold digger is kind of expected, but his words still hurt just the same. She overheard it and was insulted and enraged. Who wouldn't? Especially when it's not true. When she confronted him, he wasn't even sorry for what he said, and this attitude pissed off Billie even more. So she knocked him out by hitting his head with a vase, I think? After that, she took off, and she has been gone for the past six years and eight months.
During their six-year separation, Billie kept sending Win divorce papers, but he wouldn't sign them. He said she's his wife, and that would stay for as long as they live. I'm actually kind of amazed by his patience and tenacity. He didn't waver, not even once. When he married her that day, he had it in his mind that it'd be forever even though that wasn't the case with her.
Also, another good thing was that both of them were celibate. Win was determined not to follow in the footsteps of his philandering father. And Billie can't also do it because he ruined her for other men, and she isn't unfaithful either.
Eventually, they met again because Billie's sister and Win's brother were also in a relationship, and they have a son. But after a few weeks of staying with her sister and her nephew, Billie said she couldn't stay in there anymore and be around Winston, so she ran away again. It was actually the running theme in this story—the constant running away of Billie and the chasing of Win.
While she's away, she doesn't know that Win has been stalking her since she left. And he was pulling strings behind her back to help her with her business plan. I wish I could say that she made him work hard for it, but it didn't happen. They just fell back into the way they used to be.
Anyway, there were things that were also happening during this reunion. There were kidnappings, killings, and so on. It made me lose focus for awhile, but I was able to get it back.
Overall, this wasn't bad, but not really amazing either. It took me quite some time to warm up to Winston because he was a real asshole for the first part. And Billie didn't make it any better with her body-betraying crap. But when they finally reconcile, I have to say that Win has made me think differently about him. He did turn things around, and in the end, I came to like him. I grew to like Billie as well. She got more balanced as she stood on equal terms with Win. She didn't back down and showed him he could be honest, vulnerable, and strong with her.

Another wild, crazy, and smexy ride by Eva Winners! Super well written and fast paced with tons of action, twists, and turns. Billie and Winston definitely had a more toxic relationship that had heaps of baggage it needed to sort through before they could be together. Lots of heavy topics, so make sure you read the trigger warnings if you're a sensitive reader. Billie definitely wasn't my favorite Eva heroine, but I love her in the greater context of the Billionaire Kings storyline and you can't help but be super invested in her and Winston's outcome. I'm super excited to see what's coming next and how Ghost's story plays out!
“Secrets of a Billionaire” is the story of Billie and Winston.
“Give me daughters with your stubborn streak and mind any day.” My blood thrummed in approval of a bunch of little girls looking like Billie running around us. “Give me daughters with your beautiful, warm brown eyes and golden hair. I want the world to know that you walked this earth a hundred years from now and see the traces of you in our daughters.”
A fast paced, second chance romance between an ex fuckboy and wild girl. What starts as a one night stand soon turns into a marriage of convenience- and the hero falls hard. However lies and secrets lead to the heroine running away, and six years pass.
When we meet the characters again the hero is on a chase, the heroine is on the run and he has never gotten over his wife. She wants a divorce, he wants her. After loads of drama, secrets are exposed and we finally delve into the real feelings of the characters. Ofcourse, their happy ending comes at 80% so I waited for the ball to drop- and tragedy did strike- however we do get a bittersweet but hopeful HEA.
Really enjoyed this book- insanely obsessed and in love hero, strong heroine, hot hot hot sex scenes, lots of heartbreak and angst, devotion, and a happy ending. I’m a bit sad that the hero never got to be a girl dad, but Winston was absolutely yummy.
This story was a surprise, in a good way. The previous books hinted at where this story would go, and I was glad my assumptions were wrong. I enjoyed it.
I´m always exited for anything that she writes, because i love everything that she writes. And let me tell you that this book was soooo good. Billie and Winston´s book is everything to me. If you want to read this book, you should read Misdeeds of a billionaire first. The way that Billie wanted to save her family, and help her sister, made me love her so much, she was doing everything that she could for her. Their relationship is spicy, where there are a lot of time where they dont´s see each other. And Winston fell first and HARDER, he is so obsessed.

Secrets of a Billionaire is book three in Eva Winners' Billionaire Kings series. A standalone dark romance mafia read starring one of the Ashford brothers, mentioned previously in the series.
If you've been keeping tabs on the series so far, you will have seen the mentions of Winston Ashford. Previously in the series, we saw his mention through the eyes of his brother and his leading lady in their book, Misdeeds of a Billionaire . This is the second book in the series which followed the one that kicked it all off, Contract of a Billionaire , starring Alessio Russo and Autumn Corbin.
With any Eva Winners read, it does interconnect with the others that she has written in some way. This series and read is no different. The connections are far from complex, once you get to know who is who and who belongs in what series. If you'd like to have a refresh or catch up on that, Eva has a series connection map guide on her social media for you to check out.
We've been curious about Winston since our first ever mention of one half of the Ashford brothers, each their own brand of mystery wrapped in two distinctly different exteriors. We've met one brother and thus one mystery is solved. Now it's time to get to complete the brotherly duet and see how things unfold for Winston and our leading lady for this novel, Billie Swan who ironically is part of her own familial duet. The Swan sisters.
You'll soon see how the two sets of siblings are connected, once you read from book two onwards.
The first meeting is always memorable for one of two reasons. Something good, or something not so good. Guess which was the later for Billie? Yes, you guessed it. Her Prince Charming whom she thought was a straight, sexy, sinful ten turns out to be nothing but an arrogant, antagonising and awful minus five at best. Damaged beyond repair, she saw that there was nothing she could do for a man that has no desire to be saved or fixed. So after their one and only night together, she gladly washed her hands of him and went her separate way.
This is where when things were headed south, now head even deeper so.
When family is everything to you, you do anything for family. After the death of her father and with her sister needing help, Billie decides to do what needs must to support and save her remaining family. Unfortunately for her, the plan she came up with to put this into action was lacking in taking account for contingencies that are soon to bite her on the behind.
Being caught stealing from the man whom she downgraded from the coveted 'ten' after her one night stand with said man, now leaves Billie with no choice but being bent--literally--to Winston's will. Turns out he's just as ruthless and cruel as much as he surprisingly turned out to be gorgeous and tender both.
As always though, there's a catch...
Winston wrangles Billie--again quite literally--into an arrangement that will benefit them both. She pays the price for her attempted theft, and he gets to reap the benefits as to his liking. He loves to reap what he sows. His arrangement comes with a shiny accessory and an exchange of certain words. You guessed it, rings and vows. Billie's last name became his and for all intents and purposes, they secretly became man and wife. And he became the man that would be holding all of the cards. Mostly. At least out of their arrangement now as a couple, they were still able to go their separate ways albeit unexpectedly sooner than planned.
Their story continues six lonely years later.
Billie has had to do what she's had to do--much as she did before--for her family, and the darkness that lives within Winston remains also. It scares her down to the core. After claiming that he wanted a real marriage in every way possible and that he was a changed man, she knew different. Despite what he now presents on the outside and what comes out of his mouth, he's still the same man who battles invisible scars and continues with unbreakable habits. Despite years apart, they're just the same people as they were. The only thing that's changed? Time.
Once upon a time, a man whom she thought was her prince did in fact save her from perilous horrors. Now? Now it's time for her to saver her so-called prince. That is, if who she is now is enough to be able to do just that.
As the web of the Eva Winners world continues to be woven, Billie and Winston's story adds a brand new and exciting thread. Having met these two previously as separate entities in previous novels, we got a taste of who they were but here is where we took a full bite out of both of their personalities and swallowed back one hell of a meaty story.
The story here in this novel was as beautiful as it was heartbreaking. As it adds another layer to an already familiar story, filling in blanks from a whole new perspective (Billie & Winston's eyes) while subtly laying down new layers for us to filter on down to. Despite being familiar with so much about the world that surrounds them, their families and associates, there was still so much left that we were able to discover, devour and digest. Eva does nothing by halves and served us up everything we know and love about the Billionaire Kings world. From the never-ending impending threats and danger, to the fuelled angst and chemistry of the main characters, to expecting the unexpected, Billie and Winston's chapter of this series' story is nothing short of incredible and utterly mind-blowingly brilliant.
Sure, I would have liked there to be a less of a time jump--more time spent together than apart--and for what occurred in the Epilogue to have transpired on page instead of happening in abstract, but that didn't diminish my enjoyment in reading the book and its story as a whole.
I'm more than loving the direction that this book has taken the series' story as a whole, and its left me looking forward to the next instalment even more now than it did before I turned the first page.
Thank you Billie, Winston and Eva. You were all outstanding!
This was such a good book. The plot was actually insanely interesting and the characters were likable. I really liked Billie's character because she was super funny and knew exactly what she wanted, and how to get it. This was my first Eva Winners book and I will definitely be reading more.
The blackmail, the leveraging of power and corruption, Senator Ashford leveraging the use of impending OW marriage, OWD, YEARS of separation (same as Vasili, Luciano, Luca, Sasha, Cassio, BYRON, Alessio, etc, etc), the h just forgiving the H for literal YEARS of emotional abuse and mistreatment, ZERO grovel from H, abusive and manipulative words, body betraying syndrome, violence, and the h running around the world trying get away from the H. The only thing missing is the huge age gap of the other stories but you get that with Vasili and grandpa Nico's story so.....😴
I will say Win was wayyyyy crueler with his words than any other Winners heroes that she has ever written. He says some downright misogynistic and unforgivable things about Billie and is a HUGE asshole for like over HALF the book and continuously implies that she, like all women are replaceable and interchangeable.
His behavior for the 60% of the story was giving "I am an Ashford man and am the prize because all women are the same because I only see their value between their legs". Say what you will about Byron acting like a neutered dog around his dad, he NEVER treated Oddette like that so honestly FUCK WINSTON.
Also his attitude about women only existing to be used for his pleasure made his turn around after this ONS completely and utterly UNBELIEVABLE. This just equates to Winners' lazy writing and character development because you could literally replace Winston's name with Luca, Cassio, or fuck it even Priest and it would be the EXACT SAME STORY.
Billie deserved better. If Dr. Swan was still alive I feel like she would have been guided to pick a better man but she fr just settled.
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Non virgin MCs Experienced h HUGEEEEEE manwhore H (only ONS- never with the same woman twice) Second chance Both faithful during separation Mafia adjacent storylines → violence, drama, blackmail Lots of OWD No OMD No cheating/sharing HEA
2/5🌟At least the storylines between the brothers were different but gottttttdamn could this story be any more predictable. The stars are for Billie because she was one of the more likable Winners heroines and I won't ever forget her being a down and out GIRL'S GIRL and swinging on Oddette's cheating ex and the mutual friend who was a whore and was having an affair with Oddettes ex while pretending to be her best friend. All while in a crowded night club might I add. Sisters who move like that are PRICELESS treasures and need to be protected too.✨💖
From page 1, I was attracted with Winston and his character. He behaved like a jerk, yet the underlying reasons for his behavior and personality flaws were well-defined and valid. And, as you might expect, talking about those issues was a no-good. I do think he does not have good communication or commitment skills either.
Billie, however, was a little more complicated. She was your typical girl, interested in the bad boy. Then, when she got burned, her choices made her a little less than likable. Regardless, considering her background in great family and have told models, it kind of made sense.
As the story progressed along with time, I couldn't help but grow increasingly mad for both characters. They could not able to talk to each other with fully communication.
As a whole, I really enjoyed the story, learning more about Winston's tough background and his ongoing journey. And then, Billie, you have to wonder how one person can find themselves in the sort of trouble she does, and still walk away whole. She's a smart woman, who makes really bad decisions, and while it's not comical, it does make you shake your head. Highly recommend to read this book.
This was book 3 in the "Billionaire Kings" series. Winston Ashford is a hot sexy damaged billionaire his father the Senator is not a good guy. Winston was there when his mother was shot and killed and for years he blamed himself. I really liked Billie Swan she was strong and determined not to fall for him. Winston and Billie ended up with arrangement of sorts a marriage due to Senator Ashford lingering threats over his son. I really liked this book after some time apart they comeback together with Winston growing up and realizing what he wants. I love reading about the Ashford brothers and the lengths they will go to protect the people that they love. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
This book was fantastic!! I'm new to this series but I will be reading more from it especially if they are as good as this one is! Billie and Winston are incredible! The start of their story was interesting and then it took a turn. This book is different cause while there's a gap in their relationship, it doesn't drag the story at all. It just makes it so much better! Winston has his demons and they are being held against him by his horrible father. He's afraid to love only because of not seeing how a loving couple acts. The brothers are close and help each other a lot but they suck when it comes to love. Billie is a strong female character. She does not let her feelings towards Winston dictate her life. She still has dreams and will do whatever to make it happen. Meeting Winston and entering a marriage with him was NOT what she wanted at first. She fought so much but she couldn't deny their chemistry. it was to strong between them. If you love your book boyfriends with touch her and you know...with a strong love for his woman. A man who will travel the world to get your bracelet back. He does some crazy things in this book but it's all in the name of love. I will say Winston's growth and healing in this book was incredible!! I loved this book a lot and the characters in it will make you love it as well. Such a well written story with a storyline that will have you on the edge of your seat to see how it all plays out!!
The books begins strong. I suggest having read the previous book of the series first as most events happen at the same time. Actually, it’s like reading the same story from 2 more POV with some extra parts of course. Their age gap is smaller, 8-9y, but they too, are apart for quite a long time. As usual, he becomes obsessed too fast, without any explanation. She was a lot more logical when it came to their relationship but she had made some bad decisions that affected her family. After the first half, the pace gets quite fast, sometimes rushing things imo. But after mistakes from both parts and a few hardships, they get where they should be. I especially like Winston’s effort to change and win her trust.
I was super excited for this book since I really enjoyed the other two in The series but it didn't grab me in and keep me hooked like the other ones.
Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed it but not as much as the others.
The plot to me seemed a bit insane but hey I'm allllll for craziness. The characters took me a little bit to connect with but once I did I really enjoyed them.
I'm a sucker for eva winners, and her books in particular always transport me into this dark mafia filled world full of morally grey heroes. Winston is no different. I loved his filthy mouth and consumed nature when it came to his secret wife, Billie. Most of all, I admired he took the time to be worthy of her and face his demons early on in the story. Billie is sassy and not afraid to show it. She makes mistakes aplenty in this book with good intentions for her family. That's how she winds up in a secret marriage to the anger inspiring Winston. I loved their undeniable chemistry that truly shined in this book. We get a better look at some old and new side characters that could have potential storylines later which always excites me when it comes to her books. This one does have a couple triggers readers may want to be aware of beforehand but overall I'm pleases with their story.
I think Winston so far is one of my favourite of the Ashfords. He has his demons but he was and will always be a sweet and caring man. He is still a man not to be messed with though, especially when it comes to the people he loves. Billie quickly becomes the person he would risk his life for. It’s something you will always get from Eva. Her men always fall hard and fast for the woman they love and will burn the world down for them.
His issues with the de@th of his mother were painful, and his experience in the special forces was almost like self-harm for him over the guilt he took on for his mother.
Billie is a spitfire of a woman. We got a lot of that in her sister's story. But she has a whole lot more to her in this book. We also learned the diamonds she stole in her sister's book aren’t the first time. But instead of jewel thieves coming after her, she had Winston wanting her even more than when he first met her.
The scenes with Winston and Billie were hot. I felt the chemistry between both of them coming through the pages. I think what I loved the most was how strong and determined Billie is. She knew her worth and wasn’t gonna settle for anything less. She would do anything for her sister and nephew and this was a similarity of what Winston is like.
Winston in the end proved he was worthy of Billie and his redemption to his demons was perfectly done. We live for a man who will do anything for the woman he loves.
In the next book which will be Winston’s brother Kingston/ghost, I’m very much looking forward to and I can’t wait.
I enjoyed this one! It took a tonal shift, but that was expected. It starts off with Winston as this arrogant, crude billionaire who has a one night stand with Billie. Only he finds that he can’t quite stop thinking about her. Winston’s dad is trying to force him into a marriage— so he sees Billie as an out and catches her in a precarious situation when she tries to steal from him. As a “consequence” she’s roped into a marriage with him. Separated for 6 year after, they reunite and Winston is different. He’s sober and trying to turn his life around. The two try to date and find a way to make their marriage work while still dealing with the problem his father poses.
