Under Cover: Why Your Response to Leadership Determines Your Future

Rate this book
To walk in true spiritual authority, a believer must be submitted to God's sovereign authority. In this book, John Bevere shows readers how submission to this divine order grants the Kingdom's provision and protection. John uses his personal mistakes to illustrate riveting truths about repentance and forgiveness. As he focuses on the true authority of God, he is careful to explain by example the important difference between "submission" and "obedience." The same struggle with divine authority is also represented through the lives of John the Baptist, the Apostle Paul, and other biblical figures.

I highly recommend every Christian to read this. God had already walked me through my own journey with conviction about submission to leadership previously, but this book called me up to an even higher standard.

Definitely recommend this book, especially if your uncertain in your behavior towards leadership in your life irrelevant if they are bad or good it shows you a clear line when to obey and when to submit and when not to submit.
Only downside is some parts did feel dragged out and I often found myself forgetting what the main point of the chapter was.

The Scripture mandates are clearly laid out and John does well applying the truth.
My main disappointment was the amount of conjecture he used to support some of his points. It was unnecessary and stretched some of the scriptures well beyond their context.

I’d read this before and was both deeply convicted and a bit questioning in parts. Reading through this time gave me a better understanding of the heart here and I appreciated it much more. Good challenge to be under God given authority. Definitely allows blessings to flow.

I really enjoyed this perspective on leadership and reminder that leadership and listening to them is important. It can be a struggle when we disagree, but this came with good insights and reminders that God is leading them too.
