To walk in true spiritual authority, a believer must be submitted to God's sovereign authority. In this book, John Bevere shows readers how submission to this divine order grants the Kingdom's provision and protection. John uses his personal mistakes to illustrate riveting truths about repentance and forgiveness. As he focuses on the true authority of God, he is careful to explain by example the important difference between "submission" and "obedience." The same struggle with divine authority is also represented through the lives of John the Baptist, the Apostle Paul, and other biblical figures.
Marked by boldness and passion, John Bevere delivers uncompromising truth through his award-winning curriculums and bestselling books, now in more than 60 languages, including "The Bait of Satan," "Drawing Near" and "Driven by Eternity." He is an international speaker and co-host of "The Messenger" TV program broadcast worldwide.
John enjoys living in Colorado Springs with his wife, Lisa, also a best-selling author and speaker, and their four sons.
I highly recommend every Christian to read this. God had already walked me through my own journey with conviction about submission to leadership previously, but this book called me up to an even higher standard.
The Scripture mandates are clearly laid out and John does well applying the truth. My main disappointment was the amount of conjecture he used to support some of his points. It was unnecessary and stretched some of the scriptures well beyond their context.
I’d read this before and was both deeply convicted and a bit questioning in parts. Reading through this time gave me a better understanding of the heart here and I appreciated it much more. Good challenge to be under God given authority. Definitely allows blessings to flow.
