Hayward Grimes is an asexual former assassin that has lived long enough to know exactly what he wants in life - a life mate and a family. While he gets a head start on the family part of his future, a life mate make take some time. However, he's a patient man and doesn't mind a little work. Especially if it means he'll have his own Grell mate to hold at the end of the day.
When Clyde and Hay's pasts collide, their happiness is put at risk. Clyde will have to find the courage to fight for his mate and family. Meanwhile Hay will have to face the one ghost he thought was gone forever. Luckily, they aren't alone in this fight.

I cried, it was perfect
Ugh, my heart can only take so much and this was just too sweet and perfect. I cried. It was great. Not because the book is sad, there's just a lot of feels!! But very little angst so if angst isn't your thing, rejoice. I could have read 100 extra pages of this adorable pair and their family, plus it was so great to get more Beol and Wolfe. And Verion and Clyde are buds now!! I love it! Really hoping Wolfe gets his own full length book and HEA at some point too, if we're taking votes on future couples.

Such a wonderful story. Hay and Clyde were so sweet together. I loved their interactions with all their family and friends. Val and Poppy made me laugh. So did IRA and his army of druffle. Can't wait for the next book.

Sweet!!!
Awww. Clyde is adorable and has grown so much from the scared grell that we met in Val and Veri's book! It's sweet to see him finding his own happily ever after!
Hay has been a big part since we first met the half moon assassins and it's so precious to see how his and Clyde's relationship grows.
It's also very special to see an asexual character receiving their happily ever after!

Missing something
This book was good but too short. We get to see or hear from several of our old favorites. There were some characters from the past brought up. A lot more could have been added to the story regarding them and made this a longer, more satisfying read. There were some new characters that also could have had a lot more written with them to flesh out the story. It makes me wonder if the author is bored with these characters now.

Wonderful
I thoroughly enjoyed Clyde and Hay’s book. Clyde overcame his abusive past and Hay learn to love after betrayal. Such a sweet story. Though I could have sworn that Hay had a fryling in one of the Blue Solace books (The lieutenant’s Mate).
Oops now that was Bentix, I need to do a re-read asap.

What a nice addition. Made me re-read all the books and reminded me why I loved the universe Gray created here😍 but please please give me Wolfe's story🙏🙏 I've waiting for that one since Wolfe's first appearance😍
