About the author

Daisy Meadows is the pseudonym used for the four writers of the Rainbow Magic children's series: Narinder Dhami, Sue Bentley, Linda Chapman, and Sue Mongredien. Rainbow Magic features differing groups of fairies as main characters, including the Jewel fairies, Weather fairies, Pet fairies, Petal fairies, and Sporty fairies.

Narinder Dhami was born in Wolverhampton, England on November 15, 1958. She received a degree in English from Birmingham University in 1980. After having taught in primary and secondary schools for several years she began to write full-time. Dhami has published many retellings of popular Disney stories and wrote the Animal Stars and Babes series, the latter about young British girls of Asian origin. She lives in Cambridge, England with her husband and cats.

Sue Bentley was born in Northampton, England. She worked in a library after completing her education and began writing for children once her own began school. Bentley is the author of the Magic Kitten, Magic Puppy, and S Club series and lives in Northamptonshire.

Linda Chapman has written over 50 children's fiction books, including the following series: My Secret Unicorn, Stardust, Not Quite a Mermaid, and Unicorn School. She lives in Leicestershire with her husband and daughters.

Sue Mongredien was born in 1970 and grew up in Nottingham, England. She has published over 100 children's books, including the following series: The Adventures of Captain Pugwash, The Magic Key, Frightful Families, and Oliver Moon. She has also contributed many titles to the Sleepover Club series and written picture books. Mongredien created the Royal Ballet School Diaries under the pen name Alexandra Moss. She lives with her family in Bath, England.

My daughter loved this book. She borrowed it from her school library and was very eager to read what happened next. She was very intrigued and captivated by the characters especially Jack Frost.
We shared this book together at bedtime and she now wants to get another book in the series.

Jack Frost and his goblins are making big winds to blow away all the carnival hats. There is a crown, the carnival master's hat, and the bandleader's hat. Without the hats, the carnival won't be fun anymore. The band won't be able to play right, the rides won't work, and there will be no happy ending. Kylie, Rachel, and Kristy have to find them before the carnival ends. There are only 3 days of the carnival, one day to find each hat.

Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

- It’s really cool how the rides spontaneously start working - works for an excellent chase scene

- Why is the carnival only there for 3 days? Seems way too short a timeframe.

Jack Frost and his goblins are causing trouble at the Sunnydays Carnival. They are stealing the hats of the carnival master and the band leader, which magically keeps the carnival going. Worst of all they’ve stolen the Carnival Crown! Rachel and Kirsty try to save the carnival with the help of Kylie, the Carnival Fairy. This Rainbow Magic book was a pick of my daughter’s. Her favorite part was when the Carnival Crown was awarded at the end! It’s a cute story, and kids in my class love this series.

These books are horrible. My 6 year-old-granddaughter seemed to enjoy a few of them and then seemed to get bored with them. I read one of the series aloud to her and was immediately on the search for better choices. The stories were repetitive, just changing the problem. My main objection was the villain, Jack Frost, and his goblins. Worst part - the drawings! I am a mother, granddaughter, and retired teacher, and I have read a lot of mediocre books for young readers, but stay away from these.

This is a fun three stories-in-one book about a carnival fairy. It's part of the Rainbow Magic series by the group of authors who go by the name Daisy Meadows. It's a fun series, especially for young girls who are starting to read chapter books. Our oldest is addicted and will often read several of these stories in one day! This is an entertaining story, broken up into three separate "books" and young girls will love it.

I have read so many of these books that I must admit I've become immune to their silliness. I love that I can read them after she does and discuss the plots and her thoughts about the story and about what will happen next in the series. We will certainly read more of these books as long as they are still being written. I will always be thankful that this is one series that helped her to develop a love for reading!

These books were so magical to me as a child. They really got me into reading and I was so addicted. They helped me learn the colours of the rainbow and entertained me for several years. The books aren't very good. I've tried reading them again because I was interested in what I saw in them. The books are very similar and repetitive but to child version of me, they were completely perfect!

Jack Frost is at it again! He and his goblins are always causing trouble. This time they've stolen three magic hats that make Wetherbury's summer carnival so much fun. If Kylie the carnival fairy doesn't get them back soon the carnival will be ruined! Rachel and Kristy cant let that happen. But will they find the hats in time or will this year's big carnival be a big flop? I like this book alot because the goblins are so funny and mostly in this story.

Of coarse Jack Frost is up to no good again! This time he has stolen 3 magical hats from Kylie the carnival fairy. A big carnival has taken place in Wetherbury and Rachel and Kirsty will be attending the event. When Kylie shows up Rachel and Kirsty know that they are going to have another magical fairy adventure!

Cute book about two girls saving the carnival with their fairy friend. I think the primary reason my daughter picked it was because of the cool glittery cover. :)
