Green hair and blue eyes, as subdued and boring as can be... That’s what Lucia always thought of herself, until a chance encounter in her childhood gave her the confidence to wear the pretty dresses and accessories she so admires, no matter what anyone else may say about her.

Now that she’s grown and working for her family’s factory, Lucia dreams of running her own atelier. Little does she know her ambition is about to get a jump start when her friend Dahlia comes by looking for someone to produce a specialized clothing item. Next thing she knows, Lucia is suddenly the head manager of the newly established Magical Garment Factory! Her unexpected appointment to this large role lands her in the crosshairs of others’ jealousy, but the target on her back is but a bump in the road to realizing her dream! In addition to her duties, Lucia, in her own fashion, tackles the conundrums posed by the clients of the Tailors’ Guild.

Here begins Lucia’s lancinating journey to clothe everyone in style as she weaves her way to happiness!

I'd call this one "good enough." It commits to its mid-century faux-Italy setting and it has a lot to say about normalizing men wearing pretty clothes, which I appreciate. But it's also a little dull.

Some of you may not like what's going to be in this review, but I literally but not care less what anyone thinks. After being subjected to Dei woke horrible crap and being force-fed and being forced to at least accept it, I'm a little bit less considerate than I used to be.

That said, I did not appreciate the many references to any sort of fashion being admissible and Lucias home country. I am so traumatized by what's been happening the last 4 years, that even the word transition, I hate to say it, triggers me a little bit, because it has the word trans in it. I don't want to hear about this crap, I want to pretend that it doesn't exist. If I know someone, or I have reasons to like someone, I will still try. But for the most part, no. Now I do realize things are not quite that bad in Japan yet. Yet.

I got into these books because I like the series about Dahlia. It's by the same author and it's been a good read so far. This book made me skip almost an entire chapter because it was about that or about something related to that anyway. Although I personally do believe it's fine for a guy to wear a flower pattern and not be gay.

But yeah, all that "we're coming for your children" crap, and then them trying it, was a little too much for me. Sorry not sorry whatever. I may continue this, but if I do and I do mean if. I want far less references to cross-dressing or whatever it is the author is trying to get across. It may just be that he's saying or she saying, I don't know, that it's fine if guys wear pink. Or if it's a bit more to it than that but I don't care. As a girl, I don't care about the issue, I couldn't care less actually. I don't care what you do in your home, I just don't want to see it or know about it. This involves both heterosexual and homosexual as far as I am concerned.

Mess with a minor though, and I will do my best to come at you. That is where all the extreme prejudice comes from. Once again, the author has not done more than hint at those themes, and certainly not minors. But this is why I'm calling myself a little bit triggered.

This is the first book that I'm really going to have to debate if I want to read more of the series. And it's just for that one issue. The author themselves, I don't know the sex, is always easy to read and enjoyable. This is just my personal hang ups.

As a spin-off series of Dahlia, I appreciated the chance to learn a bit more about the side characters.
I was expecting a slice of life, slow LN story, maybe with some romance developing or crafting with a touch of innovation or magic to add interest and lots of character interactions. I was hoping to see Lucia shine. And she is a nice person with her own ambition, but somehow still seems to be a side character in her own story, since her entire job consists of making clothes to make others shine. Sadly the fashion stuff, while expected, was kind of dull, especially in comparison to magic tools, so as the focus of the story it did not really interest me, so didn't have a "hook". In the end I didn't enjoy the story as much as Dahlia's and the writing seemed a bit disjointed. I think if I hadn't already read Dahlia and didn't have the added depth it gives this story then I wouldn't continue this series. However there were some parts I enjoyed and am looking forward to seeing how the story progresses in parallel to the other series. I particularly liked the childhood encounter with "Mr Sunset"- hoping they meet again and that it might develop into friendship or more.

As a spinoff of Dahlia In Bloom I was expecting a light hearted slice-of-life story focussed on something to do with clothing based on the title alone with maybe a dash of romance and of course a decent amount of drinks and food. We certainly got the first, and in quite details on that, which to be honest is not that interesting to me as opposed to crafting magic items. There is no romance yet, nor is there nearly as much on food and drink, spending most of those kind of details on cloth design. Still, the characters are interesting and their interactions enjoyable for the most part. So while I enjoyed the book, for me at least it was less entertaining than Dahlia, but your experience might be different if you do enjoy discussions on clothes and fashion.

People told me this was woke and queer.
I wish it was as woke and queer as they claim in their obvious delusion.
Still, I'd say it is queer enough!
Just a bit.
I came from the anime, and fell in love with a mere spin-off of the real deal.
Goah! I sure love Lucia Fano and her adventures.
10/10, you would love these novels if you liked Apothecary Diaries.

Spinoff of Dahlia in Bloom, does reasonably similar stuff in a slightly different context. Enjoyable for the same reasons as the main series.

More of a 3.75

The story flow better than Dahlia. Lucia is also charming. Less food stuff
