I found this book in my bedroom although I don't remember buying it. I assume I picked it up at the Emerald City Comicon some year. I usually pick up lot's of indie/self-published work, because I aspire to self publish myself someday and I want to check out what's out there, and because I like to support my peers in their dreams. When I opened to the introduction, I thought "this is going to be pathetic." You see, there are real life nerds who like to dress up in medieval costumes and bash each other with foam swords. They're called the the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) and the writer/illustrator is a member. This comic is based on they're "sport." If that weren't enough the story uses "furries" as its characters - busty, female furries. Surprisingly though it was entertaining light, soapy drama. While I was never impressed it kept me entertained throughout. The serialized version was published in a newsletter over several years, so the writing and art evolve drastically after the first, amateurish chapter. Although the current trend of furries is highly eroticized, this is not porn or smut, there's no vulgarity or overt sexuality and it is (more or less) appropriate for all ages. The characters do have massive boobs, (especially in the first chapter) and there is some light swearing in the last chapter. The characters behave more like classic "funny-animals" than trendy fetish-furries. The story is soapy, and keeps the readers interest through likable characters. Not bad at all, especially with my low expectations going in.
