"From my conversion as a youth, I wanted to be a soul-winner," states the author T.L. Osborn. "I had a toy printing press so with scraps of paper, I printed out tracts. Little did I dream that in a few years we would be publishing tracts in over 100 languages — at the rate of more than a ton per working day to facilitate personal soulwinning world-wide. The author writes that he was only 12 years old when he was converted, and was the seventh son of a seventh son. He started preaching at 15 was married at 18, was a missionary in India at 21. He lives by the principle that very few sinners will ever go to church so he must go out where the sinners are. World evangelism is his supreme task. Osborn's crusades in Thailand in 1956 and Uganda in 1957 are said to have laid the foundations for substantial growth in Pentecostalism in those countries.

Dr. T.L. Osborn, world missionary evangelist, statesman, teacher, author, publisher, linguist, designer, pianist, and administrator –was best known for his mass-miracle ministry to millions. With his wife & associate-minister, Dr. Daisy Washburn Osborn, they established their headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1949. Together they proclaimed the Gospel to millions of unreached people in over 90 nations for well over half a century of world-changing missionary-evangelism, preaching daily to multitudes from 20,000 to 300,000 people with God confirming his word by many astounding miracles.

Written by T. L. Osborn, one of the greats of the faith, who not only preached the Gospel to over a hundred nations, but equipped others to preach the Gospel. This book shares some of his secrets to success in evangelism and provides soul winning tools. Some of the soul winning tools he used were docu-miracle crusade films, videos, audio cassettes, books and tracts.

One of the phrases you will hear over and over as you go through this book is "out where the people are". He stresses the importance of every believer doing their part to bring the Gospel to people in the marketplaces, at their workplaces, on their vacations, etc.

God has called and empowered every Christian to be a witness (See Acts 1:8). Not only in Word only, but in the demonstration of the Spirit of God, God working with you in signs and wonders among the unchurched and the unbelievers in our generation.

"...go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..." (See Matthew 28:19)

Although T.L. Osborn had one of the largest and most widespread gospel crusade ministries during the 20th century, I feel this book lacks the anointing and heart of Jesus that his ministry exemplified.

In comparison to Reinhard Bonnke’s book “Evangelism by Fire” this book pales. “Soulwinning” is as much a newsletter/update for their ministry activities for the time it was written in as it is a guide to soulwinning so much of the book feels as though I am reading about T.L.’s ministry more than the subject of soulwinning.

Some parts I must admit feel as though T.L. is bragging about how well his ministry conducts soulwinning and their numbers and statistics feel to go on and on, being further and further from the heart of Jesus and the glory that should all go to God regardless of how many souls are saved.

Some men and women are better ministers than they are authors and this is simply another example of that. Despite my negative views on this book, I cannot deny the impact he and his wife Daisy made and I hope to join in their labors of gospel laboring and pick up where they left off.

This was a great book for the facts and what the bible says about our calling to do soul winning, but wish there was more on the testimony side and what he learned from each crusade, what obstacles he had and how God operated in the midst of it, as well as more tips into soul winning.
