As a lawyer with a nerdy interest in Constitutional law and the events of 11/11/75, I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I had been expecting a purely narrative autobiography, instead the book has autobiographical detail and an immense amount of incredibly well-researched analysis of the Crown reserve powers and Australian constitutional law. It was obviously a significant piece of work for Sir John to have written. A truly great read.

A fantastic book. Illustrates the importance of the reserved powers, and the reason for Sir John’s actions.
