Climb out of the swamp and scrape off your leeches! Did you give away your virginity or have sex with your mate prior to marriage? Have you ever been angry at someone, God, or yourself for a prolonged period of time? Has there been something or someone in your life that has had greater importance to you than Christ? If you said yes to any of these questions, you have probably given Satan a foothold...and this book could help change your life. Learn why your prayers sometimes seem powerless, how you can resist temptation. Counterattack will either be one of the most serious, fun books you've ever read or it will be one of the most fun, serious books. We're not sure. One things is certain...it clearly shows how you can be delivered from the bondage of sin.
Jay Carty, has written an excellent book about taking back ground the enemy has stolen from us and you. He writes that he has tried to write a very practical book, that would be practical along with the academic. He has done an excellent job of doing this. He also writes that he has added humor to his book as well. He wrote that he hopes that some of the things that he wrote were able to cause the reader to smile. I did laugh and smile on several occasions throughout the reading of this book. Also, as he wrote, we need some humor for some of the heavy issues that we were dealing with. Also, he gives some very practical and wonderful prayers for praying and dealing with our spiritual warfare with the enemy of our souls. He offers great and very practical prayers that are found in chapters 5, 10 and 13. I would recommend this book if you want to know more about how to take back ground lost to sin and how to better fight the enemy of our souls!
I came across this title from another book and am glad I did. While a bit dated (1980's culture)the theme and structure are still current. It deals with sin and how man can go about asking forgiveness and work to live as God asks us to. I thought it was fun in parts and gave me a lot to think about. It's a book a person can refer back to over and over again. Definitely better for having read it.
