I loved the writing of this book. The characters were very well thought out and believable. The connection the main characters had was gripping and the heroine didn’t fight it for too long and she wasn’t stubborn. The escalation of the conflicts weren’t too quick or too sudden and everything happened at a good pace. I didn’t really want the story to end.

This is my first Scotney St. James and I will be looking at others.

Rogue’s Lady by Scotney St. James

A nice quick story.

The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.

THE LADY...

Juliana Lowell had had it with men. First, she was jilted by her faithless cad of a fiance...who then went and married her sister. As if that wasn't bad enough, Juliana's father gave away her dowry in the bargain! Now, the humiliated London beauty was without a man and a home. Though 19th-century England was no place for a woman alone, Juliana took to the open road. It was time to start living life on someone else's terms...her own!

...AND THE HIGHWAYMAN

Deprived of his rightful lands and title, reduced to robbing stagecoaches for a living, the last thing Ruark Hamilton expected was to find love along the lonely highway. Yet from the moment he overtook her coach, Ruark was captivated by the lovely Juliana.
