I've been bouncing around the different chapters. I paid more attention to some than I did to others, admittedly. I found it informative and enjoyed learning more about the history of Chinese literature. After reading it, I feel like I better understood stories that drew inspiration from what this book discusses. Much in the same way where I see English writers drawing inspiration from Shakespeare.

I grabbed my copy from a used bookstore. It appears to be part of an Introduction to China series. I'm guessing it may be used as reading material in a class. I would probably get more out of it with that sort of context or guided reading.
