Apparently these days i only read books that totally and completely tease me.. but im not griping gives me something to live for!

The chronicles is a all too short novella.. Told from "the sidekicks" point of view.. Keni.. Grams.. and Gabe.. Since the last time we saw them shit went down.. and all in this novella.. True to Rourkes form its hilarious and engaging.. honestly i feel like this review is longer than the novella perhaps because ive said it before and ill say it again Celeste and SHOULD be besties..

I have been a fan of Stacey Rourke's for a while now. She can capture a readers attention with humor like no one else! Stacey's writing is fantastic and flawless. She draws you in and keeps you roaring with laughter. My favorite character in this series is Kendall and I love the short on her in this Novella. Although Gabe is another favorite of mine as well. Darn it! She makes you forget about your troubles and take a few minutes to have some good laughs in this short story. But you must buy the first two books in this Gryphon Series first. You will not be sorry.

My review of The Sidekick Chronicles by Stacey Rourke

RATING 5*****

So Celeste takes a break from the spotlight. It is Kendall's time to shine, the night of her high school Homecoming. Now all of a sudden Keith has become complicated. Gabe has a depressed former bird on his hands and Grams is just good old Grams!!! For once, the controversy has absolutely nothing to do with Celeste and her drool worthy new beau from the underworld.
Ok people out there if you haven't read any of these novels you have to be seriously in the dark somewhere. They are a must have! Fit for readers 13 to 90, the characters are hilarious, well developed and draw you in. The story doesn't drag with one turn after another...and you never see them coming. This is just the warm up for Sacrifice the third full novel in the Gryphon series which is due out in a couple months. I do suggest there be a warning label placed on this author's work: READING OF THIS SERIES CAUSES NEGLECT OF WORK, TAKING CARE OF HOUSEHOLD DUTIES, AND LIMITS INTERACTION WITH REAL PEOPLE....PROCEED TO COMFIE CHAIR AND ENJOY THE RIDE!!!!!!

I was given this book in return for an honest review. If you haven't read The Conduit & Embrace, go get them now! Those of you that have read the first two books in The Gryphon series will appreciate this short story. It is featuring more of Kendall and Gabe. I'm not telling the synopsis as I usually do because if I do, it gives everything away. I'll just say Kendall's bad start ends well. Grams is spunky as always and irritated with a certain mopey somebody . Gabe gets protective and mad. Celeste has a date with hotty Caleb and a surprise at end of the book. I love this series and my teen daughters are now hooked as well. I will not be suprised when some day soon Stacey Rourke is listed with the likes of Kim Harrison and Carrie Jones. Next book in the series is Sacrifice due out Nov. 9,2012. Watch for it. WaAr

I'm a HUGE fan of Stacey Rourke's writing, she's on my short list of true 5 star authors, so I was super excited to find out she was doing the sidekick novella. And once again I was not let down. Written from three standpoints (Keni's, Gram's, and Gabe's), with a cliffhanger that will have the reader waiting with baited breath for Sacrifice, this is a can not miss novella between Embrace and Sacrifice. Rourke's sense of humor and sarcasm comes through on every page and, for a novella, you feel oddly fulfilled, which usually does not happen with short stories. Overall, this is a do not miss!

I have been soooo excited about the release of book three in this series and the date seems so far away, so when I found out there was going to be a novella in between releases, I was a happy good! I loved this story! It was awesome!! Not only did I get have my "fix" between books, but I also got to laugh and laugh. Oh and seeing inside Gram's thoughts for a bit was awesome! Now, I do not want to give away anything, but I think I may have fallen in love with Gabe in the first part of the books. Yep, he did the amazing and it had nothing to do with his gifts. The last page.... oh my! If you have not read the first two books, this book will probably make little sense. Oh and it has spoilers for the first two books. If you have read them, you are going to want to snag this up ASAP!!!!

Once again, I am taken with another of Stacey Rourke's works!!

First, poor Kendall! Having a nasty run-in with a swan was bad enough but what comes later is even worse! Such a blow, but Kenni handles it well! Such a strong girl!

Grams- LOL do I even wanna go here? I was glad to get a glimpse into the thoughts of Grams, and I wasn't disappointed. They were just as unique as her choice of clothing! Gotta love Grams! <3

Gabe, OH BOY! I don't want to reveal too much so I will only say we get to see a softer side of Gabe and .... it suits him.

Can't wait to read Sacrifice!

This was an awesome story. It put you in Keni's, Gram's and Gabe's shoes. I loved it and now I know who is getting married in the 3rd Gryphon book and I'm so excited for them and I can't wait for it to be out. Stacey is an awesome writer and I would recommend her books to anyone looking for a great read. The Gryphon series is a must read.

Cute little novella that gets you into the minds of Keni, Grams, and Gabe. Short, like half hour long but well worth the read. It gets you up to date as to what happens between book 2 and 3.

The story of the Garret siblings continues in this comical sidebar into their adventures. The story continues and gives us more of an introduction to Keni the youngest of the 3.
Incase you missed it in the Conduit, Keni’s ability is she has impenetrable wings, so yes she can fly, shield herself and those around her, as her wings are her shield.

Now in her Sophomore year in high school, Keni has been nominated for Homecoming Queen, and a the big day sets upon her she finds herself in a bit of a pickle with a swan and a bobcat while on the way to the festivities where she is supposed to meet her boyfriend and escort Keith. As her name is about to be called she catches Keith (who hasn’t shown up) locking lips with someone else. She locks eyes with her brother Gabe who is soon enough by her side and escorts her as her name is being called. Her name is called. Wait, huh, then, it dawns on her. She won, she is homecoming queen. After the half time festivities, well Keith is never the same, as he knows the Garret secret and Celeste makes it acutely clear that he is never to say a word to anyone about them their secret.

We also get a lil peak at Gabe who’s ability is to “morph” into a lion. Not just any lion of course, he’s gigantic. He is still with Lani who use to be the Garret’s guide until she and Gabe fell in love and all was stripped from her. Now being human, she sits depressed, Gams not taking lightly to it tells Gabe to do something about it. So what does Gabe do about it?

Read and find out that and the answer to any other questions you may have. Just beware that Stacey has you laughing from the get go on this one.

Three Cheers to Stacey!

The Review
I loved this, it was exactly the same as the other two in the series, I know this is only a novella, but Stacey had put the same amount of love into it as her novels in this series, the same comebacks, the same sibling love was there, I loved the new character in this one, A fart demon, yep I said it a fart demon, that has to be the best name ever for a demon.
In this one, we spend some time with other members of the Garrett family, which is wonderful, we get to find out some of the anxieties and what they love in this one, we spend time with Keni and Gabe (Swoon, love Gabe) and grams, she is so hip, I would love a gran like her. I am so excited for 9th November, Book 3 is going to be so awesome, highly recommend this one, just like the rest of the series, a joy to read, 6/5

I want to say a special Thankyou to Stacey for dedicating this one to her Condu-nuts, we love you for it, Thankyou so much.

I received this book give an honest review.

What can I say about this novella! I mean it was just as good as the other books in this series. The author is amazing and has a sense of humor like no other. I know every book I have read by her has action, love, a small amount of drama and of course humor of all sorts! If you have not read the first two in this series then you need to go out and get The Conduit and Embrace! As soon as you read those you will for sure want to read this one! My favorite quote in here was done by Celeste when she was done fighting a demon that could kill you with its stink.
"I know a Fart Demon when I meet one and that's exactly what that thing was. Silent, but deadly-literally."
I mean who really comes up with the name Fart Demon! Well I know who and that is Stacey and let me say I LOVE IT!
I do not want to give a lot away with this book, but lets just say Kendall has a bad start and on top of that she sees her boyfriend do something she never thought he would! The ending will leaving you saying omg and having you rush to buy book 3 in the series which is Sacrifice and is out right now. :D

You get a small read into each of the sidekicks, Kendall and Gabe and of course Grams who doesn't fight but has a sense of humor with her clothes and what she says! She the grandmother I would love to have. :D

This novella, well heck this whole series is suitable for teenagers on up. It is a perfect story all around.

As its title suggests this is about the sidekicks in Stacey Rourkes ‘Gryphon series’. The novella is a spin-off/filler and is a must read for all fans. It gives us a witty account of ‘a day in the life’ of Kendall, Gabe and Grams and sets up the scene for the next instalment ‘Sacrifice’. I like novella’s because I can finish the read in one sitting! I don’t like novella’s because I can finish the read in one sitting!! Though this was a complete ‘episode’ I was left itching to read on, I wasn’t quite prepared to let the characters go and I eagerly await release day for the next book.

Stacey didn’t skimp while writing, she clearly paid as much attention to this story as she does with her full length novels. There were some very funny scenes with Kendall and a swan that had me literally laughing out loud. Grams is as crazy as ever and Gabe, ah well Gabe is something else altogether.

This is not a stand-alone book, you really need to have met the characters in the previous books to take full advantage and truly understand the what’s and why’s. It is not an essential read to the series but anyone who has read them will not want to miss this novella and insight into the personalities of the Garret family.

MMMmmmmm..... Rowan.... for those who have read Stacey Rourkes other books in The Gryphon series, need I really say more? Rowan is the definition of literary eye candy, and oh that accent....*SWOON* Oh, yes..... the review *wipes away drool*.

I loved this novella. Yes, it's a short read but It's really one you don't want to miss in The Gryphon Series, ecspecially if you love Rowans character. You get an amazingly whole new prospective into why our bad boy pirate is the way he is. You literally step into his past life and discover how he became what he is today. A few of you on team Caleb may even be crossed over to team Rowan! Another character or two make an appearence in this book that you would of never expected to see and actually plays a pretty big key role in Celeste's destiny......
Oh, yeah.... Rourke likes to be sneaky by adding in bits like that in her novellas to the series....

Did I mention the whole story is ROWAN!!!!!!!!! Okay, I'm slightly obbsessed with Rowan.......just.....slightly. *crosses fingers behind back* <<~~~~ Does that really work?

I was given a copy of this book by the author in return for an honest review.

This is a fantastic novella! It's witty, fun and gives an insight into the lives of the rest of the Garrett family as they deal with the challenges of being sidekicks.
I think my favorite Garrett story is Gabe's. However, each story is well written and made me giggle. Grams is a hoot! I wish I had a Granny like her! She would embarrass me terribly, but I would be in no doubt that she loved me! Kendall has her issues too, and her story shows what she has to contend with.

Stacey Rourke has written a fabulous series of books that caught and held my attention from the first page. If you are looking for a change from angels, demons, vampires and werewolves, I highly recommend you get yourself a copy of The Conduit, Embrace and this novella and be prepared for one heck of a ride! I'm now looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Sacrifice. - Lynn Worton (WaAR)

Sandwiched in between the 2nd and 3rd Gryphon books is this delightful collection of short stories that shine the spotlight on the conduit’s supporting cast, aka, the Garret family. There’s a story for Kendall, Gabe, and even Grams. I love the whole vibe of this mini-installment. This is definitely something that caters to true fans of either this series or this author. None of these stories are needed to follow the plot, but why wouldn’t you want to get inside the mind of a wannabe homecoming queen as she rushes to the field on wings? Don’t you want to see what it takes for Grams to get one good night of just watching her favorite shows without a lot of supernatural drama? And wouldn’t you love to see if the rough and tumble lion has a soft spot? This is a fun read and cool bonus to an already awesome series.

This short-story spinoff of the Gryphen Series is a fabulous and fun quick read. The story highlights three of The Conduit’s sidekicks and starts off from the point of view of Keni. From there we hear from the very hip and cool Gram, followed by the lion/hunk Gabe. The story takes place in the course of a day. While it doesn’t answer any of the major questions left by Embrace (the second in the Gryphen Series), it does create the backdrop for a very special event coming up in Sacrifice (the third book.) For those looking for a “Gryphen Series fix,” this one is for you; complete with the hilarious banter that Author Stacey Rourke does so well.

It's always a good start when from the first page you laugh out loud, but when it's constant and throughout a short doesn't get much better than this.

The Sidekick Chronicles is a superbly witty read that whilst short. It very effectively moves The Gryphon Series plot along preparing us for book three, Sacrifice, that will be released November 2012. Allowing the reader to have an insight from the three 'sidekicks' point of view is a fabulous idea from Stacey Rourke. Whilst they are characters that we've previously fell in love with, having this additionally insight enables us to feel that extra connection. A wonderful interlude with three amazing characters.

Sidekick Chronicles
I always say, the sidekicks make the books! Rourke nails this with her individualized portrait of the Conduit team. Well written, witty, and incredibly entertaining this addition to the series is a welcome and refreshing look at the world from the viewpoint of each character. The length is perfect as the author doesn’t take it too far, but gives us just enough to keep us wanting more. What a great lead in for the next novel, which I’m already chomping at the bit to read!!
The novella is a must have for all Conduit Fans! And for anyone who isn’t a fan yet….a bit of advice…YOU ARE MISSING OUT! Click below for links to Rourke's first two novels

While I was reading this novella, the song playing on the radio was “Blaze of Glory” by Bon Jovi, and it made the perfect background music while enjoying twenty eight pages of seeing the world through Celeste’s siblings and her grandmother’s point of view. It picks up where “Embrace” had left off and gives the reader an idea of what to expect in the third book in The Gryphon Series, titled “Sacrifice”

As I’m now accustomed to Stacey Rourke’s signature witty writing, I expected some laugh-out-loud scenes, and wasn’t disappointed at all. The ending was perfect and has me excited about reading the third book in this magnificent series!

What a great addition to an already fantastic series. The hilarity ensues, but this time its not only at Celeste's expense. The focus has been shifted, and into the spotlight steps The Conduit's rag-tag group of sidekicks. Many sweat and a few stumble under this new spotlight, but every character grows more adored in the hearts and minds of the readers. The perfect novella to satiate avid readers desires for more of the Garret gang, and leave us all excitedly anticipating more from this amazing series!

Ok - so Stacey held us over just a little with this collection of "shorts" to "HOLD US OVER UNTIL SACRIFICE WHICH SEEMS LIKE IT'S TAKING FOREVER!!!"

And I have that out of my system again.

This was a super quick read - as it should be - and I loved the idea. Seeing just a little scene through the eyes of "The Sidekick's" aka Keni, Grams, and Gabe was really cool. The personalities of each of them shined through and I love that Stacey has them written so well!!

And SERIOUSLY??!! A wedding??!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Thanks for attempting to hold us over Stacey....

I was throughly engrossed in this short novella. A short follow up to Embrace, it was nice to have a glimpse into the minds of the other characters in the Gryphon series. I was impressed to see a more mature Kendell who has fully accepted her role as the Protector of the siblings. Grams made me laugh with her stories, but she truly has a heart for her grandchildren and others involved in their lives. Gabe made me smile as a little of his sensitive sides shines through in the plot.
Lovely follow up to Embrace! Very short, and leaves me longing for the third book!

Let me just say - Love, love, love! The Sidekick Chronicles is a short novella where Celeste takes a little time off the spotlight and Kendall, Gabe and Grams step in. This novella lets the readers get to know the ‘sidekicks’ a little more. It had me laughing right from the start and it just kept getting better. Although I adore all the characters and everything about the series, I’ll have to say so far Kendall’s swan scene was my absolute favorite!! You all just need to read this to find out!

Stacey Rourke did it again with this novella! After reading The Conduit & Embrace, the first 2 books of the Gryphon Series, I counldnt wait for Sacrifice to come out this fall... but the release of this sidekick novella was just what i needed! This shows snippits of life from Keni (Kendall), Grams and Gabe! Their perspectives tie the books together! The end of this book... I'll just say, WOW! Read this! It's awesome!

This Novella is a great continuation of Embrace. I love that they are from the perspectives of Kendall, Grams, and Gabe. I also love that within the views of each person the story unfolds with each piece. It is masterly done and love it! Can't wait to read more! The characters just make me laugh, especially Grams! I give this a 5 star, even though I wish it was longer!
