Mid-tier on this one. It's engaging but moves a little too fast. I'll be taking a break from this series now (only own the first four volumes so far anyway,) but maybe I'll return to it in the future.

Okay things started making sense now … but there is an interview with the author and he said he planned to have 50 volumes!?? Why is there only 10? Where is he now? Is he alive? Is he happy? I couldn’t find anything online….

Lee’s purpose in writing his book, Ragnarok, is to excite his audience by showing the heroes’ adventures and the struggles they go through to beat their enemies. Ragnarok offers crazy adventures that readers can follow along with their favorite heroes. It makes the reader stay on their toes and feel like they’re riding along the adventure as well. Ragnarok is an exhilarating series. It makes the reader wish they were inside the book. The many actions and romances within the series are extremely amazing, as it will leave the reader hoping for more and hold lasting value in the world of graphic novels.

Ragnarok is very well written for a graphic novel. The novel is understandable and gives the reader an interest in Norse mythology and even the video game. The author also uses dialogue that exaggerates the situation and correctly matching the emotions according to who or what the character is. For example, the main character screamed at the assassin, “You’re insane! Your attack just killed innocent people and you act as if nothing happened!” which showed how emotionless the assassin was (Lee 124). The illustration also demonstrated their feelings and emotions. Lee has a way to make the reader have feelings towards the characters.

This book was amazingly captivating. The action scenes demonstrated in the novel is more epic than any graphic novels there are in this genre. The reader will be surprised, joyful, morose, and may even laugh. There will be mixed emotions when reading this novel. There may be a few parts that are a little slow, but that’s what makes it seem like a movie! This book will not bore the reader. It could give the reader a strong, determined feeling like when the main character exclaimed, “That’s it, then! No more questions! No more deaths!” (Lee 126). Ragnarok is an absolutely serious, romantic, and humorous book all in one.

The greatest strength of Ragnarok, is that it is a long series and is action-packed like a movie. There are graphic novels such as Naruto and Inuyasha, but neither contains interesting characters that the reader can appeal to. Not only does Ragnarok include a great plot, but it isn't a mainstream graphic novel like the others. Yet, it is so emotional and strongly written. As for the weakness of Ragnarok, there is none. I can honestly say that Ragnarok was just too great to bash on. The action and surprises were too much to handle and always leaves the reader thinking. Basically, there are just strengths to Ragnarok.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves graphic novels. The author really made the main character seem like a strong and god-like warrior. For example, as the main character was fighting the assassin, he offered the assassin a chance, “We can end this now, peacefully. It’s up to you” (Lee 115). A lot of people seem to like action that last a long time, instead of those fights where it only takes one stab to the chest or something to win. Ragnarok offers long and exhilarating battles, along with funny moments. Ragnarok cheered me up on days I was feeling down and reading it will make time go by very fast. All of all the graphic novels, this was the best by far.

The fight scenes made this volume for me. They were freaking awesome, in addition to the story itself. Better than the last volume :)

I've read this in 2007 when I was in college. I really enjoyed every single bit of it. :)
